Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, citing issues such as unhelpful staff, long hold times, and difficulty reaching a representative. People also reported problems with payment processing, including incorrect charges and difficulties with mortgage-related services like PMI removal. Many consumers found the overall service to be poor, with some describing it as the worst banking experience they have ever had. Some people also felt that the staff were undertrained and not adequately prepared to resolve issues, leading to further frustration when trying to resolve issues. Banned from using restrooms

I have been with First Bank for decades. PNC has enacted a new policy members are no longer allowed to use restrooms!!!! They are not open to public! Probably one of the first of horrible policy’s that have negative impact on members.I am closing my account. HORRIBLE takeover by PNC!!!

PNC Bank is is run by very incompetent personnel and nosy

I had large deposits of "good funds" in PNC bank because I am purchasing a townhome. "Good funds" means that the money is settled in the account through the ACH, wire, or other method of deposit. It took me 30 minutes to retrieve my "good funds" from this bank due to incompetent management with unnecessary inquiries about me and my account. I have been a customer of this bank for over a year with money flowing in and out constantly.

The clowns in PNC asked about my DL, my deposit history - fine However some nosy DEI hire had the audacity to ask what the withdrawal was for. This is clearly overstepping the banks legitimate interest in verifying my accounts and none of their damn business! I should have told them I was purchasing a Bordello!

If you are not a customer of PNC, look elsewhere for better depositary institution. If you are a customer of PNC, and not tied to them with automatic deposits and withdrawals leave this nosy bank run by incompetent's and DEI personnel.

If you do not live within walking"Do business with other banks" – PNC blocks access to funds during urgent closing…

If you do not live within walking distance of a physical PNC branch, do not open an account here. They will trap your money when you need it most.

I am a remote customer with no local branch access. I attempted to wire money for a time-sensitive refinance closing. Instead of assisting me, PNC has held my funds hostage and put my entire home loan at risk.

pnc business banking failure

I have been a pnc business bank customer in Erie, Pennsylvania for 18 years now. They keep closing branches and the customer service continues to decline. I cannot get anyone to call me back. If I call, I am put on long, long call waiting. When I do get someone to talk to, they cannot help me, and all I get is another long, long call waiting. And this is for a simple, simple problem that should be able to be correctly easily.

Worst bank ever

Unfortunately, I was doing well in life, and I went to PNC Bank in Archdale to open a bank account, but I was denied a bank account. The unusual aspect of this story is that they provided me with a temporary debit card that only works at ATMs. I could only put money on it and get money off it. I was denied all the bank services. They said something about my bank account history and I never had a bank account. This could be that I was denied because I was black. But I will never know the truth and forget this day and experience. This is the worst bank ever.

I've been locked out of my user account many times cos the company thinks I'm a hacker. I've meet the physical and soft challenges every time, but today I was locked out again. NOW CS refuses to reset my password because I only have 1-phone number to send OTP codes to. I was told I have to wait 3-days to request a new PWD. I finally got the tmp password that didnt work either now whats going on my IPA is no good?

PNC Bank Check One Business Day Wait

Got a PNC Bank check made out to myself from my own account for $475.00 last week for reasons to long to explain. So they were my own funds withdrawn from my account. Decided to re-deposit the check back into my account on Friday. The money was NOT immediately available to me until Monday (the next business day). How is that possible?? If I would have cashed it and then re-redeposited it, then the I could have written checks on it? I asked my other bank if that's there policy and they said NO.

I took out a persona loan out for a car. What shocked me was when it was paid off. I waited a month after paying the loan. Never got the lien release letter to get the proper title. I finally contacted them to only hear them tell me we sent it to you. I know they didn’t because I tracked my mail everyday therefore I never saw the letter in the mail. I was told to go online to Vehicle Title my Way to retrieve it. I had to paid for a lien release letter at a price because they never sent me one out. 29.00 really!!! I don’t think it was fair.

Find a Bank that is Smarter and will work with you!

In my recent experience, you as the consumer, will need to do your banking on their TIME schedule and not yours. I entered the bank multiple times and locations to open and complete opening my business account. I was not able to do so because the biz banking agent was not available nor onsite. So the bank does not have the talent to get a signature to open an account. I also had to produce meeting minutes where I held a meeting with MYSELF!! Nope...plenty of other banks to choose from. Just opened personal acct and will close that one next.

Money grab more impt than service

Paid off my car loan years ago. Called pnc to sign off on original title. Refused. Said they partnered with a 3rd party service and I had to pay another $30 to obtain a loan release. Another example of a money grab over customer service

The PNC app is horrible

The PNC app is horrible. If I could easily reach a person, I would provide an opinion on customer service.

The app times out very quickly, and I have no way to modify it. If I have to switch to another app on my phone to access needed information, it logs out and deletes information already entered. VERY frustrating when doing things such as setting up bill pay, etc.

Finally, about 50% of the time I attempt to use it, the "service is unavailable." I have received this when attempting to transfer funds, access digital wallet, and use Zelle.

Today, when I attempted to pay for a service, my debit card was refused. I have sufficient funds. I made a trip to an ATM; could not withdraw funds. Attempting to make an appointment (another bad mark, I should not need an appointment if I want service), the app cannot seem to find a branch that I KNOW exists. In fact, one time it showed me a branch in Houston, TX as being in my zip code. I live in MD.

Wire transfer requires a debit card or…

Wire transfer requires a debit card or you must call in. I called in four times, 3 times I was transferred to the wire department only to have the call disconnect. The fourth time I called I was told it would be the following business day - no disclosure on their website to this effect - which nearly cost me a real estate deal that required the wire transfer same day. They transferred me to customer service and the extension said “you’ve reached a non working PNC number…” my initial contact was in plenty of time that this shouldn’t have been an issue! And multiple dropped calls are unacceptable and highly suspicious after the 4th time. I used USAA app and the wire was thankfully able to be accomplished within minutes without call! Very disappointed with PNC as I’ve had my accounts for over 5 years, have a substantial sum deposited, and supposedly had a personal banker assigned to me. I will be closing my account and transferring to USAA, a bank I can trust.

CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS!

My husband and I are trying to obtain a debit card in my name since I'm on the account. The first CSR that we spoke to last week sent a card in my husband's name, even though he was told many times that we need a card in MY name. So my husband is trying to fix things now and he's been on hold for over 30 minutes. They want your money but they don't want to help you at all. I can't wait to switch banks!
