I think this is a horrible dating site. I have had five complete scams that I have notified the administration about. You put in their searches and you wanna date local and it sets you up with people... See more

About Plenty of Fish Dating
Written by the company
The Plenty of Fish story begins all the way back in the distant year of 2003 when it laid down its roots as the first free online dating site. POF believes that building a community where people feel free to be themselves, helps create the most meaningful connections. Every day, Plenty of Fish helps people find their blanket thief, Ikea sherpa, personal spider hunter…you get the point.
POF has always been true to itself, allowing members to choose their own path to connection on the app and matching members based on the things that ultimately make for real, long-lasting love. That’s why Plenty of Fish was the first dating app to ditch face filters. People can feel free to just be themselves. No pressure, just real connections.

the free tier works pretty well though…
the free tier works pretty well though ads are everywhere. does a good job at keeping bots away but the site feels buggy. it is much much cheaper than like eharmony, but it shows. it has a weird age cutoff thing which didn't impact me but seems that there's a 10 year gap, like if i'm 40 I can't see people who are 30 or vise versa and idk what that's about. I know happy couples who are 10 years apart.
POF was pretty disappointing
POF was pretty disappointing. Lots of inactive or fake profiles, very few real conversations, and the paid features weren't worth it. The site pushes upgrades but doesn't deliver much value, and support isn't helpful. Overall, not great — I wouldn't recommend it.
POF Now A Waste Of Time
In their quest to make everyone pay, it has now become a site that nobody wants to use. 9 out of 10 profiles are inactive or fake. Pay? for what?
RIP OFF, NOT POF LIKE IT WAS BEFORE. READ BELOW
I have been out of the dating scene for 8 years. Back in the day POF was the only completely free dating app. Yes it had it's issues, but it was free, and did the job for meeting people local to you. Match bought it a few years back. It has completely changed, and it is literally a complete rip off. I upgraded from the FREE version to POF Premium subscription, I think it was £67 pounds for 3 months. I assumed, wrongly, this would allow me to message who I like. How wrong I was, I can only message one person in 24 hours. To message more I need to upgrade AGAIN to Prestige package.
Now to be fair, it does clearly states that you do not get unlimited message features with Premium subscription, but naively, at 67 pounds for 3 months, I assumed this would be included.
Even on the 67 pound subscription I've paid, the only added feature you really get from that, compared to the free version, is being able to see who has 'liked' you. Anything else you want to do...It redirects you to pay more.
This is not PlentyofFish anymore, this is simply a way for Match corporation to generate money, using the name PlentofFish that they bought, to try and draw in old users.
Separate to this, the pool of matches is literally awful. I live in Essex and searched within a 10 mile radius. Back in the day on POF, I could do that and there would be many users. Now when you set distance, it defaults to 50 miles/km.
Everything about the new POF is terrible. I am not surprised at the terrible review score on here. More fool me for not looking at Trustpilot first.
Maybe this is a completely different experience for women, but gents trust me when I say look at other dating platforms first.
This is a complete rip off and waste of time.
Also it should be called Plenty of Kids. Literally everyone on here has kids. If you select 'no kids' the matches in your local area (and that's me being generous with 50 miles) is non existent.
Fake
I would ask women on the site to chat and they all were mean and rude in response no one on there wants to get to know you or date waste of time and money I want a refund
I thought if I joined the premium… was I disapointed
I thought if I joined the premium pacakge I would be able to contact people I was interested in. They limit you to one new message a day! Unless you are willing to pay more! They are nickel and diming you for all they can while hiding what they offer in long agreements.
Add to that, they don't let you narrow your search to a specific area. I live in a small town and want to search with in 20 miles, since I don't want to date furthe away than that. But Nooooo. They think I need more than they have to offer in my small area, so they automaticlally change the distance to 150 miles. Then they don't even bother to allow me to see the slosest ones first.
I have asked for my money back, but they say they won't do that. Everything is in their agreement.
With the limitations they put on you, I find this site worthless.
Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off, very expensive every thing is an extra, needs to be more upfront with extra costs. Don’t get me started on customer support or lack off
No policing of old or inactive accounts
Probably the most annoying thing about this app other than the fake profiles is the fact that there are so many ladies that haven't been online for at least six months, so it is clear that they have either given up, found somebody or just too lazy to cancel their subscription. Plenty of fish seem to do nothing about policing inactive accounts, so what am I paying for? It seems like there are 10 times more potential matches than there actually are!!
So many fake accounts
So many fake accounts. And even when you cancel, they continue to charge claiming you have to cancel through Google, even when Google doesn't show a subscription. Terrible site. Don't pay for anything.
Good luck having a conversation with…
Good luck having a conversation with anyone on there. They're rude, stupid and unpleasant.
Most have lots of kids, lots of tattoos and don't take care of themselves or exercise.
You really are scraping the barrel.
Women keep clicking like on my profile…
Women keep clicking like on my profile and then not bothering to message. Time after the time the same ones are clicking like all the time relentlessly. When you tell them you're not interested they ignore your message and then just press like again. They must spend all their time online liking every profile.
At least half of the profile headlines do nothing except whine about not being able to see likes. It's the sign of a low IQ individual. Not one of them bothers to pay to see who has liked them, they prefer to complain about it.
If you see "Can't see likes" as a headline it's the sure sign you should avoid them.
Why is everyone so rude?
I've no idea about the men on here but the women love to be rude unpleasant and very picky. Don't waste their time, no one-night stands & telling you they can't see the likes feature will be on most headlines.
A lot of women knock 10 years off their age. For example they say they're 45 when they're really 55 so they are in younger aged searches. Not just a few years though. Ten!!!!
Pof = bad photos and even worse attitudes. The worst the photo the pickier they seem to be. (Make it make sense)
This has to be the equivalent of a budget break. The quality will be abysmal.
Two huge problems with this site
Two huge problems with this site
1) There's way too many men, lots of them will be desperate and message anything with pulse.
2)Theres not enough decent women on the site.
No even half decent woman would stay on this site long so all you have are the women who are not very nice. Most have been on the site that long they should be charged rent.

It does work been on today and with the free stuff had 3 texts through Facebook and WhatsApp yes you can message your phone number. Chatted to a nice women tonight meeting her Thursday. 2 other women want to talk aswell. So yes good site
Piece of shit app
Piece of shit app. Supposedly i have about 20 likes for the last week but no matches happening no matter how much i swipe! Exact same as tinder. Total scam in order to get you to pay for premium.
My account was removed in 2 hours
I signed up today then after 2 hours on the app, my account, out of blue, was removed by saying that I violated their terms when I was chatting with really nice people there, all respectful conversations but they decided to remove my account after 2 hours.
Constant charges
For me it’s just a money machine praying on people.
You have to pay to see people with their premium package. Then they want to charge you to message people.
Complete waste of time.
So a 'Premium' membership doesn't…
So a 'Premium' membership doesn't include sending messages? You have to pay for them? Presumably, with the standard membership, you have to pay to log on?
Possibly the most irritating aspect of this site, though, is the constant 'Someone wants to meet you' notifications. When you check them, they've looked at your profile and moved on. How does that qualify as wanting to meet?
Also, they send out false 'Someone likes you' notifications. When you log on, there's nothing there?
They also do the thing where they provoke lots of interest in you before you've paid for the Premium, presumably by prioritising your profile in feeds. Once you've paid, all the interest disappears.
A very money-orientated site. I don't expect them to be a charity, just not try to sell, sell, sell when I've already paid.
Money-making…
I'm writing to express my frustration with your app. Setting up an account keeps looping back to the start, making it incredibly frustrating. What once was a decent platform now feels like a money-making scheme.
Plenty Of Fish Has An Offensive Age Rule
Plenty Of Fish (POF) denies anyone - at least anyone over 50 like me viewing any profiles that are from people who are ten years (or more) younger. I changed my age by a few years to test the system and sure enough I could suddenly see profiles of people who were a few years younger than I could see before. It's offensive and condescending for them to lock out any sincere 50 year old from contacting a 39 year old. And anyone a little younger who is open to a date with someone a bit older. I've left the site for that reason and several others.
