Absolute scam

It's an absolute scam. Seemed legit at first and proper music advice, which lulled you into safety for months. Then you order a playlisting campaign, and - as others here say - suddenly everything disappears, and Ross D. - which I now presume is a monicker for the scammer - disappears off the face of the Internet. Please be careful out there.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. The website looks very polished, and Ross D (Polite Riot) sends out emails with free advice.
The person running this scam has gone into great detail to create fake reviews on the internet (copy and pasting well known publications)...Long story short, I was scammed out of $195 USD, and it was a lesson learned..Dont let it happen to you.

Non delivery of services purchased

Ross emailed us a number of times with various offers for music promotion. We purchased two services from him on 23 Feb and never heard from him again, nor received the services we paid for. I emailed him several times asking for an update. I even offered to be patient if he was experiencing difficulties. None of my emails were replied to. The phone numbers on his email footer are not in service. It was very disappointing as his outreach and website looked genuinely encouraging.

Polite Riot/Ross D.

Ross D. reached out to us about a song we recently released. He informed us they offer hands on, organic pitching to genre and theme based playlists on Spotify, working with their own trusted curator network and vetting tools. Ross claimed to work with big names in the industry such as Pusha T, Lily Allen and Timbaland. For $195, Ross stated he would give us this:

“2-5+ high-engagement playlist placements
We’ll identify, pitch and secure placements with a mix of genre-based lists, mood / theme based lists and artist-style lists, so you’re reaching relevant listeners that are most likely to engage.

5k-8k+ new listeners
Placements will be dialed in to pull at least 5,000 - 8,000+ new relevant, genuine listeners.

20-30+ popularity score
We'll aim to reach a popularity score of 20-30+ on your song, which is the gateway to unlocking algorithmic recommendations

Hands-on bot protection
We manually vet every playlist with Chartmetric and Artist.Tools to ensure your playlisting is fully compliant with Spotify’s ToS and reaching real, relevant audiences at all times, and share transparent audience data so you understand exactly where new listeners are coming from.

Beyond this I'll also be happy to offer adhoc tips on your Spotify growth and answer any general promo queries (always happy to offer my advice on anything marketing related).”

After payment and after over a week of “campaigning”, I noticed nothing on our Spotify for Artist account. When I reached out to him to ask how it was going, I got no response. At this point, it’s safe to say he’s a predator who preys on indie artists who actually work hard at their craft.

We are in the process of getting our money back through our bank, but I hope anyone who has been contacted by Ross D./Polite Riot sees this before falling for the scam.
