- We fully understand the frustrations you are feeling under the current situation due to the steep increase in prices. Energy markets have hit record highs which have caused major problems across the energy industry. We trust the following provides some reasoning for the increases: CNG forward bought your gas usage when the wholesale market was considerably lower than today, this enabled you to be on the rate you were previously on. Unfortunately, when CNG went into administration these hedges / forward purchases ended. The knock-on effect of this is that Pozitive Energy inherited your supply at the current market rate which is significantly higher. After a rigorous tender process Pozitive Energy was appointed the “supplier of last resort” (SoLR) During this process deemed / out of contract prices were strictly agreed with Ofgem As Pozitive Energy was appointed the supplier of last resort no hedges could be put in place as you have no contract with us, therefore the current market rate is applicable. Unfortunately, the rate you were previously on to the rate you are on now is significantly more, however, we are forced to buy and supply you at these rates. Our fixed term contracts are far more competitive than our deemed pricing and we would encourage everyone to get in touch with our Customer Care team to discuss a fixed term contract with us. Sachin, you were so helpful, but I am worried about how Positive Energy applied a £273 disconnection fee to an account that had been in debt for less than two months.
I never cancelled the Direct Debit, and they have confirmed that they did not cancel it from their end either. We were only recently made aware that the account had gone into debt when they contacted us, and we subsequently paid the outstanding balance of £556. At no point did we refuse to pay the amount owed.
However, they have retained the £273 disconnection fee, which I feel is very unfair, especially given that the debt had been outstanding for less than two months and we were not aware of it until they contacted us.
Given the circumstances, I would therefore give Positive Energy a rating of 2. They seem to be very rigid in their approach

Scam company - be careful!
In 2023 I was sold a contract for Pozitive Energy under misrepresentation by a broker that was employed by them. I was told that my current energy contract had come to en end due to my company becoming Ltd and not longer sole trader status.
Once I realised that I had been lied to I tried to exit the contract with help from EDF. Pozitive energy managed to take over our contract and asked for £26,000 as an exit fee. Eventually I managed to exit the contract and reinstate my contract with EDF.
I have now received a renewal letter from Pozitive Energy 3yrs later. I don’t even rent the property in question.
I will be reporting this immediately to the police and fraud action.
