Would not trust this company with my data or credit card details

Update (9/22/20): There is a reply from projectmanager.com to this review but all they've done is deflect. I've contacted their customer service and they haven't attempted to make any of this right. Just an FYI for anyone reading this.

The product is mediocre at best and that's why we decided to not use it after spending about 20 mins in the system. This company just outputs the minimum viable product and then uses free trial scam tactics to bolster their revenue. I can't imagine any company that values their data would want to be involved with this company. Once I found these transactions it took days to get my account close, what do you think will happen when you need customer service to resolve the many issues/bugs in when you are a paying customer. Avoid at all costs!

Totally irresponsible company

I am shocked how this company understands to treat its (potential) customers. Unfortunately I noticed I am not the only one ripped off by this 'free trial' scheme.
I am merely a student (not a business at all) and I only used their site once (!) for a Gantt chart. Unfortunately their product is so complex that I couldn't use it for my Uni project. Instead I had to redo the whole thing again using a plain Excel sheet.
Their free 30 days expired and because I was under so much stress with the Assignments, Dissertation and losing my part time job on top of everything else I simply forgot to close my account. The charged me $200 (!) and don't even want to discuss refund (!). They simply offered me another product of theirs. This is unbelievable!
They charged me a whole lot of money for basically no service although they had no costs of their own. I mean is not like I consumed away o physical product. They are a service company! For example Amazon refund me instantly, no question asked, when I forgot to cancel my Prime account.
I'm in desperate need for those money and I am planning to chase them till the very end.
Therefore please avoid this company if you can. Although their software might be OK, they're just a greedy, zero principles, no duty of care company!

Hi there!

I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding regarding our free trial policy. We offer this free 30 day period so that our trialists can see if ProjectManager.com is the right fit for their needs, just as you did.

Within this 30 day period, trialists can cancel their account at any point. All you need to do is navigate to Account >> Billing and press Cancel Account in the bottom right corner.

Additionally, we send a reminder email 7 days before a free trial expires, as to avoid any unwanted charges.

This information is clearly outlined in the FAQ section on the page where you entered your credit card details to start a free trial. You can read it over here: projectmanager.com/freetrial

Be careful about canceling after the trial

Be very careful when you are subscribing for trial. If you try and forget it, since they got your credit card information, they tend to behave as if you are a customer, and charge you until you notice. I am sure they can see in their logs that, other than the trial period, you did not use their software but they refuse to pay back the software you never actually used. Happened to me, with a very bad timing, during corona lockdown. I had to pay more than a thousand unfortunately.

Hi Ozi,

I'm terribly sorry about the misunderstanding regarding our free trial policy. We give trialists free access to our tool for 30 days, so they can see if the tool is a right fit for them at no charge.

Trialists always have the option to cancel their free trial in the software, and additionally, we always send a reminder email 7 days before a free trial expires. This way a trialist can cancel before their credit card gets charged.

This information is clearly outlined in our FAQ section on the page where you enter your credit card details to start a free trial. You can read it over here: projectmanager.com/freetrial

Keep it Simple!

Sometimes it's hard to get started on organizing projects and working on Objective and scopes. I find that reading the newsletter helps me to refocus my thoughts back to PMBOK principles and not getting lost in the complexities of a project. Keep it simple, what is the goal, how do you get there and what are the risks. So great to just read how others approach problems and solve them.
