This company is extremely poor

This company is extremely poor, I am currently left with an alarm system which does not work, very much feel like leaving, many many faults developed following a service - which they cancelled many times, despite saying they would attend. They messed up when they serviced it the other day. Tried to get them to come out again, they promised us call backs, nothing materialized. Extremely poorly run. Do not purchase an alarm system through this company.

Worst customer service I have ever had

Same bad experience that others have had, broken promises, broken alarm, paying £30 a month and getting no service. Can’t set our alarm and neighbours been burgled last week, I see they are still selling new products DO NOT BUY - AVOID THIS POOR COMPANY. We are a very long standing customer of circa 30 years.

Alarmed how badly organised this company is.

We used to get an annual service in January each year but for several years have to ring them in order to get it done. Last year service was in April after bringing them, this year August again after reminding them.
Engineer came and was very thorough but just after he left the alarm activated even when it wasn’t set. Rang and they isolated a zone, told they would ring me back to come and rectify but five days later nothing. Rang them again to sort it out and told it would be three weeks before they can come to rectify.
Considering how expensive they are the service is appalling. Steve Vickers

Poor Service

I am 90 disabled and live alone. On 29/06/07 intruder alarm fitted by Dynasecure: promise of twice yearly service visits and 24hr emergency engineer visits. No routine visits in last 3 years. on 07.05.22 awakened by alarm whine although alarm not set. Log review indicated low battery. Alarm thereafter could no longer be set. Attempt to reset system on engineer telephone advice failed . Earliest engineer visit 17.06.22 Engineer very pleasant but had not been informed of the reason for the visit.Could not effect a repair. Then informed by office that they knew that the system required replacement. Engineer told to dismantle system because of fire risk. He could not give date for repair. Office would contact. Phoned office 29.06 .22.No repair possible until 27.08.22 .Would then be without alarm for 3 months. N.B. direct debit continued-last date taken 24.06.22 for £30. Was told if direct debit cancelled I would be breaking the contract I should incur debt and interest charges! Decided to see if I would be protected by the end of August.

Hello Alexander, I have reached out for your contact details so that I might look into this further for you. We do have a backlog of appointments in your area but have a host of newly appointed Engineers who have joined to assist in reducing the timescales for appointments. I am more than happy to look into this to see if we are able to expedite the appointment and will also take a look at your payments if you are to be on a reduced system or without a system. Many thanks, Claire

One step backwards

Another update -
2 false heat activations in 10 days. Zone should have been isolated after the first one but the wrong zone was isolated! Fire brigade have been out this afternoon - Arghhhh
Update - Claudio came yesterday (5-6 hour round trip) and was fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable, very professional and extremely determined to fix it. He had all the parts and skill he needed. We could not fault him. The great engineers are out there but it seems few and far between. PMP should have allocated him to our job after the first 2 or 3 failed visits from new inexperienced engineers. Thank you Claudio.

Nightmare - do not go with this firm. Had a faulty system since early December. Five different engineers have been since, one forgot the parts needed so never even made it in the door. None of them have the experience and skill needed ( not the engineers fault as all new to the firm). The last two visits including today’s have made the issue worse and we now have no functioning system at all. I phoned technical support and was told I’d get a call back in 5-10 mins, no surprise but not had a call yet. Over 6 months and not sorted, I despair. Don’t get yourself in this position.
Update -Nick (nice guy ) phoned but couldn’t fix it over the phone. Wonder how long we’ll need to wait for an engineer to come who knows what he’s doing …., is there one?
Update - we have an engineer coming next week (so 2 weeks at least with no system) but also just spotted the monthly charge is being taken again! What a cheek, being charged for a system that isn’t working.

Hello Steve, I'm so pleased we seem to be getting you back on track and am so sorry you had a disappointing experience initially. We are in the midst of a huge recruitment drive with a number of new Engineers joining us over the last few months. This is all in view of us being able to arrange appointments with lesser wait times but apologise that wr didn't get it right first time. I have discussed your feedback with our Complaints Manager Graeme and our Field Managers and will ensure that any development needed across the Engineers who visited will be implemented to improve service in future.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback

Frustrated Fred in Norfolk.👎☹️

We have been with PMP since the British Gas days and I can only say that the service( rather the lack of it ) is a total disgrace. Our contract is for a twice a year service and I think we have had 1 and that was probably nearly two years ago. Our systems are showing low battery and PMP assure us that the system still arms ok, it bleeps every time we open the front or back door. We were told last week that the latest engineer has covid and the one before that had left the Company. They have said that don’t need to pay anything for the next 6 months! This may sound good, but we want a functioning system that is also a monitored system, not sure it is working as it should be. We will be cancelling our contract, once the ‘free’ 6 months is up. Great shame, we have been so loyal.

Absolutely trash company

Absolutely trash company, no value for customers at all. I have been with them for many years (joined when it used to be Dyno), but last two years or so level of service has gone down.
Keep away from them.

Keep away from them

Keep away from them! We don’t have alarm properly working for the last 6 months. Three times service visit had been changed. They double charged us, and now they offer not to charge us for something that doesn’t work.

It seems that properties protected by this company, actually are not protected: easy picks for burglars.

Update - STILL avoid at all cost. Our August appointment has now been moved back yet again. Don’t forget this is for work I requested to be undertaken back February.

I have been a customer since the days of British Gas and then Dyno Secure and then Protect My Property. The service has got worse and worse and when work has been carried out, more often than not the engineer has had to return due to a new ‘fault’.

We pay monthly on a contract that allows, as a minimum, an annual service of the alarm. We have have not had that service during the last year.

Needing some work done to the alarm system we contacted PMP who quoted several weeks before they could visit. I reminded them that they hadn’t serviced my alarm as they were contracted to do and so they brought forward my appointment so that I ‘only’ had to wait 2 months.

The engineer was due today. We received a call to say the engineer couldn’t visit so a new appt would have to be made. Unfortunately it’s not for another two months.

So to have a small alteration to our alarm and to have an alarm service that they have failed to provide, despite their contract with us, we have to wait 4 months

This company is an absolute joke and anyone contemplating using them should avoid them like the plague.

I did ring them back to complain. The call agent said it was not good enough having to wait 4 months but there was nothing he could do, other than to raise a formal complaint on my behalf. I told him not to bother as I will be cancelling my contract with them and taking my business elsewhere. PMP was not bothered in the slightest

UPDATE 09/06. I had some good news due to, I don’t know what, PMP brought my appointment ‘forward’ to mid June. BUT they have now contacted me to say that the engineer is no longer available for mid June so they are booking me in for August one month later than they had originally booked me in for before bringing it forward. As a REMINDER I booked an appointment in February and am having to wait until August!!!!! I’m paying for a service that includes an annual inspection but haven’t had one for almost 2 years.

This company is an utter disgrace

Helpful response

We have had a contract with this company for many years, £18 per month (recently went up). Our system malfunctioned 2 days ago, keeping me up for several hours late at night as I tried to turn it off. Phoned them the next morning - they said they would phone me back - they didn't. Phoned again - first appointment the end of June. Meanwhile no burglar alarm. What is the point of a contract..? After this review I was contacted by phone very quickly and it was explained that if ever there is a problem I can call an engineer - day or night. Subsequent calls have been helpful and have resolved the problem.

Good evening Mrs Lacey, I have checked your price and it has remained at £17 since 2017 with no increases. You remain very much a valued customer and I will arrange for one of the team to call you as we understood from our last conversation that you still had the ability to set the alarm with a green light now showing. On that basis, we booked the next available non-urgent appointment. A member of the Customer Service Team will give you a call tonight to discuss further. Many thanks

Terrible

Terrible. Appalling. Con artists. No service. Lack of engineers. Stay well away. Exactly the same has happened to us. No service since 2019. Have now found another provider who cannot believe how this company is still operating. Only a matter of time when the axe comes down and dont expect any rebates when it does…

Appalling service

Appalling service. Do not use this company. We have been paying £17 a month for an annual service. Last service was Aug 2019. Since then they have had £527 from us and when the alarm malfunctioned today the first appointment to mend it, at my cost, not part of a service, is April 22. Over a month away. What an incompetent and unscrupulous company, and a rude and unhelpful representative answering the phone. Avoid them!!!!!

Appalling Company

Since this company took over from Dyno, the standards have dropped until now they are non existent. We have had poor workmanship, dangerous advice and now they are failing to meet the terms of the contract. We are now paying a monthly direct debit for nothing. I have tried ringing and they blame Covid for the long wait that can be expected and an email I sent several weeks ago remains unanswered. I think the only way to get a response is to cancel our direct debit! Probably a bit optimistic as they clearly just do not care or have any idea what or how important customer service is. Under no circumstances would I recommend this company.

Used to be a great company, but trying hard to recover.

Have been with Dyno which became ProtectMyProperty for 10 years now, They used to be an absolutely first rate company, if there was a problem an engineer would be there within 24 hours, servicing was regular and thorough and was great value for money.

That was before ProtectMyProperty took over. Now there is no service. acording to my records they have not been to service my alarm since 2019 (supposed to be twice a year), I have been trying to get them to upgrade my system since July and it has been a series of cancelled appointments and broken promises. The real problem now is that I don't trust them any more.

This week I was due to have an engineer visit they phoned up on Monday to say his van had broken down and could not attend, then the following day I had a second call saying he was off sick all this week. They promise to rebook the appointment but never call you back. When you finally chase them, the earliest appointment is never sooner than a month away.

Even the monitoring is not that great, My alarm automatically phones in every day at 7:45 to test the system, at least 3-4 times a month it cannot get through and sets the alarm off!

When we have had engineers come, they have all been fine. The problem is the management which is an utter shambles.

Avoid!

========================================

Update: Called customer service and a new appointment booked for 10th Jan (a delay of another month!) they originally offered Jan 25th as the next appointment but after much compaining they found the earlier date. We also negotiated 6 months free service as compensation. It was a reasonable offer which I accepted but still did not have much hope of the engineer turning up.

I then had a second unsolcited call an hour later from a senior manager who gave me a very frank description of the problems they are having and the steps they are taking to correct them. She also made a promise to make every attempt to keep the new appointment even if it meant getting someone else to do the work if there was an issue in the week of the appointment.

I have to say it is refreshing to have a conversation with someone who is not hiding behind a script and appears to have a genuime desire to improve things. I have revised I one star to two stars on the basis of this call and hopefully can add a few more in the following months if the service improves and promises are kept.

Will keep you posted!

========================================
Update 21st June

Had a problem with the alarm repeatedly going off at night. Managed to get an engineer on the phone within 15 minutes who disabled the central station connect (which was causing the problem).

Full marks for that!

Unfortunately it still took 2.5 weeks to get a site visit, but the guy did turn up when promised. It turned out the fault was not with the alarm but with the celluar provider, if someone had realised this I could have had my alarm back on monitoring within 120 minutes of the fault starting.

The service is definitely improving (added a star for this) and hopefully it will be back to 4 or 5 stars once they get enough engineers in the field.

A bad situation sorted, thank you!

My alarm system phoned Protect my Property over 1,000 times to report a low battery in one of the sensors. Nobody told me and I have been charged £220 pounds by BT, £0.21 per call. BT out of generosity refunded me £20 although it was not there fault. I have asked Protect my Property for compensation so lets see what they do!
Well they are going to pay for all calls my alarm system made so I am relieved and impressed with their service.

Unprofessional, would not recommend!

I had booked an engineer to come and do a maintenance on the alarm system as we’d just moved into a new house.
Booked on 20th September for first availability which was 30th September between 8am-1pm and also took the day off work…no one to show up ! No phonecall or anything, I waited till 2pm to phone, was on hold for 15 mins to then be told the engineer had a personal appointment and the visit had to be rescheduled to next Tuesday !

So unprofessional not to be told about this, to be waiting about for nothing and then not be offered a sooner appointment. I’ll have to take another day off work now ! Such a waste of my time and money.
Would not recommend !!

Connor Ward, the Engineer, performed an excellent service this afternoon. He answered all customers questions and provided a thoroughly professional technical service. He even took time to return my garage door keys that were left in the outside door, as he was leaving. Connor is a credit to the Organisation.
