I authorized a one-time credit card payment of $1 and NOTHING else. Then Visa started sending me fraud alerts saying PublicCrimeCheck was attempting to charge me for a couple different things I did not authorize, including a subscription for $28.95. If Visa had not notified me I would have unknowingly paid for the subscription for god-knows how long. It's a scam, plain and simple. A complete and total scam.
And by the way, the response I got from PublicCrimeCheck to this review is the exact same canned response, verbatim, they give to everyone who complains (see for yourself). They don't even care enough to tailor their responses to individual cases. They just don't care. And why should they? Scammers never care about anyone.
