I work at veterinary clinic with 12+ experience in the field and 15+ in pet sitting. I’ve always owned large wet mouth dogs. Puddles gifted a gravity water dispenser to the clinic to test out and give feedback.
My dogs were a little too eager to try the waterer and drained the basin almost immediately, after that the system did its thing and allowed the air bubbles to come through and release more water - the sound did scare my dogs and created a bit of an aversion to the waterer that they slowly came back from over a few days. After that it has been amazing and they’ve gotten used to the bubbling sounds. No mess on the floor or dog faces!!!
The only pro tip I would have would be to start with smaller amounts of water and let your pets get accustomed to the sound before making it their primary water source. Everyone will love it after that!
