I bought the Pull up mate, bag & dip kit pack. Both the product & customer support provided are superb. I would strongly recommend this product.

Delivery arrived sooner than expected & support provided by Sally was fantastic.

The Pull up mate itself is very well made & easy to put up & take down (around 5 minutes). Changing different heights for different exercises (eg from pull ups to dips) is also simple (takes less than a minute). A slight wobble is present at full height (& to be expected) but not an issue. The structure itself is sturdy & I feel confident it can take my weight.

I had an issue with one of the parts, contacted Pull up mate by email on Friday afternoon & received a response from Sally on Monday morning confirming a replacement part had been sent & was on its way. Excellent customer service!

My only issues would be the original packaging (box not really sufficient as not strong enough) & the extra costs of delivery. Other than that I cannot fault the quality of the Pull up Mate nor the excellent support provided should it be needed.

In conclusion, I am very happy with my purchase of the pull up mate as well as the speedy & efficient assistance provided by Sally. I would definitely consider another purchase from Pull Up Mate in the future.

Having owned and used a Pull Up Mate 2 nearly every day over the past few weeks, I feel I know enough to leave an honest review.

Pre-Sale & Service

I placed a pre-order during the peak of the pandemic. I must admit, I was a little hesitant with the 3 weeks timeline, but at the same time, I was aware that there was a strong possibility the order could be delayed, which was understandable.

I few emails back & forth with Josue kept me in the loop and I eventually received my Pull Up Mate 2.

Unpacking & First Impressions
==========================

My first impression was - "Wow, this is big, and heavy!". But that's precisely what I had been hoping for. My fear was that it would be small, light and flimsy. Do not be deterred by its weight. After all, if you're going to be hanging from something, you want it to be solid, which the PUM2 is.

The first time you assemble the unit, it's not that easy, and that is because it is fresh out of a factory. What I would suggest - as others have also rightly stated - is that you perservere and stick with it; keep sliding the tubes up & down, maybe even rotate it a little. This will "loosen" things a little and reduce the friction. Once you've assembled & disassembled a few times, it's so easy to put together. This is precisely why the Pull Up Mate 2 appealed to me so much. I know that if I go through periods where I might not train, I can pack it away in 10-15 mins.

Using the Pull Up Mate 2
=====================

I've been using the Pull Up Mate 2 nearly every day, if not for exercices, then simply to perform dead hangs for a minute or two in order to stretch my spine & entire upper body. This kind of daily stretching is extremely beneficial to maintaining a healthy spine.

Performing pull ups feel great. There is a little creaking, but that's only because the Pull Up Mate 2 is made up of several components that slot into each other. The creaking is by no means a reflection of its build quality; just something that you would expect, and to be completely honest, it's not loud and doesn't bother me at all. And besides, who exercices in complete silence? If your movements are steady & controlled, it's barely noticeable.

If you want to perform pull ups on a unit that makes no noise, you'll need a commercial-grade Pull Up Station. That will cost you in excess of £500, weigh a ton and you can forget about dismantling the thing once it has been put together 2-3 hours later.

Regarding the PUM2's stability, I would say it's probably 'The best portable pull up station' money can buy. Why, I hear you ask? Because it has four vertical supports that distribute the load evenly. As well as the ability to disassemble the unit quickly & efficiently, the four vertical supports is the reason why it was a no-brainer for me to spend twice as much on the PUM2 over the original - which has two vertical supports.

Whilst I can't vouch for the stability of the original PUM - I presume it's great judging by the reviews - I wanted 100% stability assurance, 0% rocking, and 0% bending over more & more use, particularly heavy use with a weighted vest & dipping belt.

If the slight rocking nature of the original PUM concerns you, I would absolutely recommend that you get the PUM2, especially if you have a larger frame or intend to perform more advanced movements. You will not be disappointed.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with my PUM2, and if your budget allows, definitely go with it. Granted, it's not the cheapest piece of kit, but it's the closest thing you are going to get to a commercial grade pull up station - that you can dismantle within minutes if you need to do so. I've looked for a few years, and I believe there's nothing else quite like the PUM2 on the market.

Customer Service

It's important for me to point out that I had a couple of issues with my order. However, I was completely tolerant and accepting of this due to the pandemic. It's important to cut some slack, particularly towards smaller businesses.

I'd like to thank Ben, but in particular Sally, who took it upon herself to ensure that my order had been processed swiftly. A truly 5-star service.

What I often look for in companies is not how they treat you when everything goes right - because that's all too easy - but how they treat you when something goes wrong.

I have received my pull up mate and I was very impressed with it. I am 6ft 4 and the height extension kit works perfect for me. The customer service was great and responded to all my queries in excellent time. I would definitely recommend!

I ordered my Pull up mate on July 15th and was told it would take up to 3 weeks to get it shipped out. Not only did it take less than that, but I received it 5 days later all the way in Hawaii! Very pleased. Only minor issue is the top holes don't perfectly line up making it difficult to place the last pin in. But totally happy with the product and service! Thanks Pull up mate!

the products are innovative and of absolute quality, then there is the team that is fantastic, they had sent me the product which during the transport damaged the upper part, they immediately replaced it ... really good and fantastic .. ..buy only the original ... I will definitely make other purchases

After several weeks of looking at different home pull up stations online during the lockdown, I settled on the pull up mate 2. The wide variety of exercises that can be done, but also the ability to store away were of huge appeal to me.

Once ordered the product took slightly longer to arrive than the pre-order stated however this can be forgiven due to situation the lockdown has created.

Once the product arrived the build quality and how stable the items is during use is quite impressive. The only downside being the product is a lot heavier than I expect, but that is due to the brilliant build quality.

Disclaimer: I like the product, it’s a great idea.

Customer service is non existent. Tried to order replacement clips, got charged £16 for delivery via UPS ( only selection available ) - never got processed or sent out. Informed clips don’t get sent via UPS. Ignored for a week having to chase them. Full refund processed as it’s a week later and no one has a clue what’s happening there. No order number or anything sent but took the full payment.

I like the product but the communication and customer service is horrendous.

I received a Pull up Mate a couple of weeks ago. It arrived sooner than expected and I absolutely love it. The build quality is exceptional, the stability of it, the multifunctionality of it. I am very smug that I have this and not one of those door frame bars. So thank you for all your hard work to get these orders out over the past 3 months of madness.

I ordered a pull up mate 2. It was sent within 3 weeks as stated. But sent with missing parts so it essentially functions as a pull up mate 1 but for twice the price. Tried contacting customer service. They sent 1 email saying they'll pass it on to the returns and product faults department, who then asked me what was the issue. I told them there were missing parts but they never responded to resolve the issue. I have now spent £300 on a product that doesn't work when it could, because customer service refuse to respond. Just be cautious. If you have £300 to comfortably blow, go for it at your own risk.

delivered two weeks early ;-)

So I during Covid, I wanted something to start my work out from home routines as the gym is closed. Everywhere was sold out of this machines, on ebay they were going for x3 retail price!!! I kept an eye on the site.. and eventually the pull up mate went to pre-order... I wanted the pull up mate 2.. but thought if I get into this I can order the upgrade kit at a later date.

Pre-order condition made it very clear the item may not be dispatched for 3 weeks depending on getting stock in. 1 week later delivery was made.

I have put the product together and it is very sturdy, not the cheap stuff others may provide. I believe this means it will last many years of use, due to the thickness of the metal. It is easy to put up and take down, as the videos suggest.

I did contact pull up mate customer services once online, and got a reply within 24 hrs. Can't knock that.

My only critisim is not with pull up mate, but with UPS who they used to delivery my item. I was given a time scale for delivery of between 7am and 9pm!! I mean really UPS, in this day and age... DPD can get it down to a 2 hour slot.

In my opinion Pull Up Mate has delivered a quality item earlier than expected. I look forward to get the dip bar attachments when I see them in stock.. and maybe a youtube video of my progression. Thanks Pull Up Mate.

Regardless of how this product is (I wouldn’t know as I have yet to revive it), the customer service is quite shocking.

I understand COVID has put pressure on the supply chain but I can’t understand why there is such a delay in fulfilling an order. The government has not sanctioned any actions which would cause a delay since this order was placed.

Advertised that products will be delivered in 3 weeks or sooner. It’s been 5 weeks so far and the product has not been delivered. Received a notification 9 days ago that is will be sent via UPS and given a tracking number to track the order. UPS have not even received the item yet.

I have yet to speak to anyone as the number provided just rings out. You may get a response to your email but it does take some time.

Since my order was placed, this company have made other customers aware that products can be Pre-ordered for delivery within 3 weeks. I don’t understand how you can continue to say this when you haven’t fulfilled your outstanding orders?

It’s a shame because the marketing behind this product looks good. Perhaps save yourself the hassle and find a good tree to use for pull ups.

Had my order cancelled without asking me after 3 weeks as I complained and vented my frustration about it to them. It said on their site when I ordered it would be shipped in 3 weeks or sooner. No mention of longer. The lead time to recieve it was actually over 1 month but said they could not even guarantee this.

During the third week of waiting I asked for an update as my partners due date for our first child was the following weekend. Not only that been In full lockdown due to the coronavirus I could hardly ask someone to come wait at our home should I need to. They actually asked I have it shipped elsewhere whilst on lockdown. This would break lockdown rules at this current time. This is important as it states on their website if you are not present to receive it you will be charged courier fees again which are £10. After spending over £305 this is quite tough to stomach. This made me panic as I had no idea if I'd even be able to recieve it after the already colossal wait and no empathy from the position I was in.

As stated I ordered the PM2 coming in at just over £300. I re affirmed my frustration that I was not happy that 2 days before it was supposed to be be delivered they could not tell me if it would or not. Later that day I had an email to say it would be at least another week but they wouldn't deliver it till the following weekend. This was on a thursday now taking the lead time to over 4 weeks. Now I was really frustrated as it fell on my partners due date.

Not only that they covered this statement with the caviat it may be longer. To really confuse me though I also had messages saying it would still be dispatched in the coming days via messenger.

After venting my frustration again due to circumstances I was just told my order was cancelled. Ultimately they did not like the fact I complained nor want to sell me the product because I did so. Not once did I ask for the order to be refunded. Even after this period of time and experience I asked again for my order to be kept which they refused to do saying it had been cancelled and would not be supplying the product due to me complaining.

I tried to call the number stated on the website numerous times to resolve and even though they have customer service agents none would speak to me via phone so they must be unmanned. If they could not guarantee lead times at the time of order why couldn't payment be taken upon dispatch and only take a deposit at order?

I must be sat by myself on their blacklist now and can only dream of learning the human flag.

Positives - I'm happy with the durability (so far), stability, weight, and aesthetics.

Negatives - it's at times quite hard to grip, due to the bar's (considerable) thickness and very smooth uncoated metal surface. especially as the weather starts to get warmer my sets often fail as a result of losing grip rather than muscle fatigue.

Overall pretty decent

Bought a pull up mate from argos a few weeks ago. I love the product, in many ways it is better than gym membership.

But, I want some dip bars. These seem impossible to get unless thay are ordered with the pull up mate.

The reason I ordered the pull up mate from Argos was that that was the only place with stock. Pull Up Mate themselves seem to be constantly out of stock, and not just due to corvid 19. Argos only sell the basic pull up frame. Pull Up Mate discuss the dip attachment but do not seem to sell it as a seperate item to upgrade an existing setup.

I already had a pullup mate 1 and absolutely loved it we have a touring caravan so we travel a lot at weekends and summer time. The pullupmate allowed me to keep training while I was away. As I progressed with my calisthenics i wanted to be able to do more advanced stuff and needed a wee bit more stability for things like pullovers and muscle ups so I ordered the pullup mate 2. I had my pullupmate 2 delivered within 3 days of placing the order and I absolutely love it. The guys at pullupmate kept me up to date with the order until it arrived. Great service and a great piece of kit. I also have the close grip dip bars which are fab for a smaller person, they make dip form much better and less likely to provoke shoulder niggles if you need a narrower grip. Highly recommend any of the products and great to deal with. Thank you!!
