Where is it?
Ordered over a week and still not arrived. Contacted Pull Up Mate, but no response!
Ordered over a week ago...hasn’t shipped.
Ordered over a week ago. Site says it will ship within 3 days but it still hasn’t shipped. I’ve sent 3 messages to the company asking for information on when the product will ship and can’t get a response.
Very practical but a lot of movement and bend.
Received yesterday from a local dealer, everything in the box that should be, instructions included but really not needed, very simple to put together.
Due to its height and the join between the two vertical red bars, there is a lot of movement in the frame with pull-ups, a lot (I respect some comes from bad form), and even at the lower weight end of just 68kg I can feel the unit bending with every pull-up, it does not feel all that secure and currently leaves me feeling a little nervous about the product.
As some reviewers have pointed out the connection points and pin holes do not line up as well as they could meaning that the bars have to be pushed out 5+ mm to fit the pins, this puts extra pressure on the pins and adds more wobble at the joints as they are not sitting in the way they were designed, if they were machined better there would likely be much less wobble due to this.
That aside, it looks good, it is really quick to put up and very practical, if like me you move a lot and need something compact-able. It is probably stronger than it looks and feels, but only time will tell.
For me this is an excellent product
For me this is an excellent product. Very robust and well made with good grip size and spacing. It is solid and stable in use. It is easy to put up and store. I cannot fault it.
Great but grip needs serious improvement
I decided to purchase the pull up mate two months ago, and overall I do not regret it due to the workout possibilities and commodity it creates.
However, in my opinion, there is a major issue with the grip. The bars have no foam or cover whatsoever, so you place your hands in the metal that the bars are made of. The metal is already fairly slippery, then add a bit of sweat from hands, and it becomes very hard to maintain a solid grip, which undermines many exercises such as pull ups, chin ups, knee/leg raises, and so on.
As a result, I find myself not doing as many reps as I could, not due to lack of strength, but simply because my hands slip and I'm unable to maintain position. This has been a major setback for me, and I am looking for a solution to compensate this, although I couldn't find a lasting one yet.
So, I suggest to bear in mind for future developments the addition of a foam or any type of sticky material in the pull bar, at least in the most frequent positions (edges and center).
I just received the Pull up mate I …
I just received the Pull up mate I ordered. The delivery was fast (within a week) allthough I'm from Belgium. Packaging was in order and good. During building the Pull up mate I saw several problems with it.
- The connection between the red feetbars and the black crossings have no holes for jointpins and no pins are included to fix those connections. So everytime you move the device or turn it into an other position these feetbars come off.
- The diameters of the narrowing parts of the red vertical bars and the black crossings where they connect with eachother is to small. This causes the connections to have to much movingspace which makes the Pull up mate wobbly and bending over by your weight. I haven't turned it horizontal yet to do pushups on the red bars but I'm afraid that this will cause bending these bars by my weight. I weigh 80kg
- The position of the holes for the jointpins could be better positioned so that the connecting parts go deeper inside the other part. Now you need to pull up the pipe 5 to 7mm to get the holes to correspond and get in the pin. This means that the whole weight of your body is pushing on the pins and also on the specific area around the holes of every pipe. I wonder if by using it to the max these holes will start growing oval because of the stress on the metal. To my opinion the pipes must push on eachother and the pins should only be keeping everything together but carry as less weight as possible.
I must say that for the rest I think that this device is a good thing to have in your home for a good workout. I only think that it can be improved further and I'm not sure how long this thing will support my workouts before starting to use or bend.
Slow but good service!
Before ordering the product, the customer service was fast and fulfilling. But as soon as I paid for the product, they stopped replying to my emails, all I got was an auto message, with the same info.
In one of the emails Pull Up Mate stated that the majority of people do not complain about the rubber smell from the caps, but they could send me some in plastic. Which I can only imagine is because people are lazy, because the rubber stench fills the room and personally give me a headache. I've tried washing them with soap, giving them sunlight and fresh air, let them soak in white vinegar and pure lemon. Nothing helped!
Now the second issue, is that I would love some plastic caps, so I can actually use the product in-door. Problem is, they won't reply to my emails, I send one 11 days ago and yesterday, no replies what so ever.
The first email they didn't reply to was regarding delivery, so I had to call the company after they tried to deliver it 3 times, although I would've loved to inform them in advance, but didn't get the info. So when I had to call them out for a 4th run I was met with a very angry mailman, which I would have avoided, had Pull Up Mate, replied to my email. Now when the package arrived, it was damaged, the product itself was in a aesthetically bad condition, and swayed more than I anticipated, which definitely kills some of the value of the product.
All in all, a horrible experience. At this point I would not recommend Pull Up Mate to anyone.
Edit: Customer service replied, and is now trying to make up for my bad experience. Will change my review accordingly once it is settled.
Edit 2: I got a shipment refund on my first delivery, and plastic caps, which is all I could ask for, so in the end the service was good, and the product, although I was unlucky with mine, what you could expect.
The plastic caps also smell, but like farm. I checked the sender info afterwards, and realized, yes, it was indeed stored and send from a farm. I'm sure that smell will disappear over time, as it's not the caps themselves that releases the odor, but the place they were stored.
A little too much annoyance for my liking, but in the end a great but slow service. Most people seem to have a smoother experience with this company, and I would therefore still recommend it.
My review is the Para-Bars product!
My review is the Para-Bars product!
I love this item as it's unique in it's portability and so can be moved out of the way easily when not in use.
The only reason for no 5 Star review is because it is a bit wobbly due to the lack of support bars however, this is not a big deal after using it for 5 months!
Service and delivery was really good!
Ok but not amAzing
I was really looking forward to getting my pull up mate, after a few weeks it arrived. the box was damaged due to poor packing. i emailed them to tell them this and too my amazement they didnt really care. i replaced the missing parts myself and choose to ignore the damage on the bars. its not the safest thing. if your careful you can do pullups but dont do them fast! its an ok product but for the price i expected more.

A decent product for a good price
I have looked for a portable pull up bar for a long time and postponed purchase mostly because they were so expensive. This one had a very acceptable price and does the job for individual pull up work. It is stable enough to do most exercises except for anything involving swinging.
It is easy to put together ( less then 5 minutes ) and is really very portable.
Not sure if someone who weighs 90 kg + would have the same opinion...
Good product bad finition i guess
My product arrived well made at first sight. But, after assembling it for the first time it appeared that a troubling gap between the bottom parts of the thing make the all structure too shaky for me to use. ( the gap is between the vertical red parts and the black base of the product. Whatever red part i use to assemble the "base", the gap is still here. problem of size for the black part?) I'm afraid that after several use the all pullmate will crumble. (i weight 88kg btw)

Review pull up mate
It is easy to setup and feels very strong. The only problem is that it sways and bends a little bit. Also the bar's periphery is quite big, so maybe hard to grab with your hands
Brilliant, versatile product.
I bought my PullUp Mate in December and I use it about 2-3 times a week. It is easy to assemble and dismantle. The biggest surprise is the amount of different exercises that you can perform on the PullUp Mate ; if you want to get strong this a perfect piece of equipment. I would recomend it to anyone.
Great product
This is a sturdy and versatile piece e of equipment. I don't have the wall space for a pull up bar, but have enough space for this and now have a dip station/inverted row setup and a pull up bar and that's just two of the configurations.
Quick and easy Assembly.
Light weight but strong.
Love it.
Part of my workouts week on week.
Only downside = no storage bag for it which would be nice.
Pullup Nate
The pull up mate is excellent. It is well worth the money and packs into a handy bag, if you were travelling on holiday in your car and want to keep doing a bit. Plus there are so many exercises you can do with, it really completes my home gym
Great piece of kit
Challenging but forced my body to adapt and grow. Adaptable high quality kit. Love my pull up mate.
the pull up mate is great !!
