DO NOT BUY - WILL CHARGE A FORTUNE IN DUTY

Seems I'm not the only one that has been ripped off by an alleged UK company that is actually dealing from the US. Phone case took 3 weeks to get here for which I had to pay £2 shipping which is deemed acceptable when you think its being despatched from UK. I then had a £13.50 import and handling charge - phone has actually cost me £52. At no point during the purchase process was I made aware that this was coming from the US and only found details on their T & C's (do we really go through these when we're buying something proclaimed to come from the UK!!) This company is totally unethical and I will be reporting them to UK trading standards!!!!

Appalling service and complete rip off

Only given 1 star because I cant give zero stars. This company is an absolute DISGRACE and their customer service skills are ZERO.
I bought a new phone case for myself back in the summer from this website. Had no issues at all so decided to buy a case for my sons new phone for his birthday. Went on the UK website, ordered it and paid £1.99 UK shipping fee. The package didnt arrive (even though it was ordered 2 weeks prior to the birthday). I emailed to enquire about where it was and got a really snotty email with a link to the tracking for the parcel. My heart sank when I saw it had come from USA.
I received a card from Royal mail stating I had to pay £15.04 for an international al handling fee. I emailed punk case asking for a refund and they basically did not want to know at all. So I emailed them again and their response was that its in the terms and conditions and tough luck. Am I right in thinking that this is illegal? I shouldn't have to pay this if I'm ordering off what appears to be a UK website. So a 40 quid phone case has cost me 55 pound. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM unless you want to be ripped off completely.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. This company uses a UK domain and UK currency but the item is shipped from the US and you (the buyer) will be liable for import duty and Vat which can be more than the cost of the item you ordered. This is not apparent at time of ordering.

Misleading and Unhelpful

I ordered a phone case from what I believed to be a UK company due to the .co.uk domain and everything being in pounds (inc the £1.99 delivery charge) only to find out when I got my confirmation email that my item would be subject to import fees. After a quick search I found out that the company is based in the US and don’t operate within the UK. A fact which is not made clear at all when purchasing. I immediately emailed to cancel my order and hours later received a response she saying that I can return my item if it doesn’t arrive after 6 weeks and that was my only option. I’m completely disgusted with the lack of transparency and shocking customer service. I’ve been in touch with PayPal to attempt to get my money back. If you want my advice, stay well away from this company. I wish I had read the reviews here before purchasing.

AVOID THIS COMPANY

AVOID THIS COMPANY. After waiting over a week for my case, I checked the tracking and it confirmed that the case was being shipped from the States yet the website advertises that the company is based in the UK and they apply a UK shipping fee of £1.99. No mention of international shipping anywhere on their website. I did some research and found the below reviews, so I contacted the company for a refund and got on line back stating that they wouldn't refund me. Luckily, I paid via PayPal so I opened a case with them and threatened Trading Standards and read them the UK Consumer Act. Shortly after I got a refund (if anyone is in the same position and paid via PayPal please open a case with them as you may get your money back). Three days later I got a royal mail 'cannot deliver' note advising that the package would only be delivered if I paid £14.99 custom charges. Ridiculous how Google are advertising this scam of a company. Please avoid!

I had the same experience as others

I had the same experience as others. iPhone XR case ordered because I thought it was a UK company and when it arrived late there was over £12 to pay on postage. Their response when I raised it was (cut and paste verbatim):
-------
Hello
Our apologies for the inconveniences you've encountered. Please note that international shipping fee does not include the custom charges which your country might want to charge you. Unfortunately we will not be held responsible for any additional charges which your country inflicts upon you.
Thank You for choosing Punkcase
-------------------------
I wont be using them again and would strongly recommend people look elsewhere. That said, the case is strong and seems fit for purpose and was considering a second star - but no, I'm irritated by them and their response. Avoid.

* Avoid Punkcase.co.uk *

I ordered an S9+ case from this company and to be clear its not UK based as their website claims to be! The case took nearly five weeks to arrive as its dispatched from the US...

I ordered the case in June and I am still awaiting my refund and its now September as the case was received in a dirty and unhygienic condition! Definitely a return sent to me as the package had clearly been opened and wasn't sealed?

Their customer service is a disgrace too,
Their response was to just keep asking for the order number, Then kept replying with an automated response!
Avoid these american fraudsters at all costs!
Still wished I had checked Trustpilot as I usually do with companies I'm not sure about...

I'm happy.

Ordered a case on 6th August 2020, received today on the 24th August 2020. Case is great quality with full packaging. It was sent from the USA even though its a co.uk website address. With covid 19 and the distance I am not surprised my case has come so late. Overall I'm happy with my service... just a bit later than I thought to get it. I heard that somewhere on their site they do say it can take up to several weeks for delivery. 4 stars out of 5.

So.....I am still waiting for my refund…

So.....I am still waiting for my refund from this despicable company. They will not reply to emails, unless you email them and then they send you round in circles! I have proved they received the case, I have provided proof of return, the tracking number but they are totally messing me about and not giving me the refund. Their so called head office is un-named and has boarded up windows above a Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn. I am now taking this further. They are just total SCAMMERS! DO NOT USE.

Punkcase.co.uk, shocking, awful service.

Ordered a case for my galaxy s20 ultra. After waiting two weeks for the item to arrive from America (even though their website was punkcase.co.uk) the screen protector part was damaged (crumpled).

I put my phone into the case anyway to try it out but the crumpled area of the front screen was not detecting touch sensitivity which rendered the case useless.

Contacted punkcase.co.uk (even though they are really in the USA) and asked for a replacement front section of the case as it was damaged.

Several emails to and from punkcase asking for photos of the damage, my name, order number etc etc which were all replied to with the relevant info then they offered to send a replacement.

Then all of a sudden I am told that the colour black was out of stock (even though there were, and still are plenty for sale as advertised on their website. I contacted them clearly explaining that I would wait for them to get some in stock and post one out asap.

Have not heard anything for over a month now so this company gets zero stars for customer service and minus five stars for sending out damaged stock and charging customers good money in the process.

Avoid this mickey mouse oufit at all costs or you will regret getting involved with them eventually. I managed to buy a better quality, robust, fully waterproof case from another company for half of the cost of this garbage.

Punkcase.co.uk, you should have your trading licence revoked for ripping people off.

What an awful experience. As said, avoid these backstreet scammers.

Terrible Customer Service

I bought a screen protector which I thought was from UK. Wrong, it was from Brooklyn. I had to wait about 4-5 weeks for it to arrive (okay it says up to 6 weeks so they have a get out on that one).
I got a nice little post office slip through the door telling me I had to pay £12.50 Customs Charge. I emailed Punkcase but they must have had better things to do than reply to a lowly customer.
I messaged them through Facebook after another week went by only to be told fairly ubruptly that they will not be responsible for Customs Charges in my country. End of story.
I wouldn't mind as much if I had been pre warned this may happen but I have ordered quite a lot of things from abroad with no charges before.
At the very least they could have said here's 50% off your screen protector or a credit note but no, nothing if the sort!
The case cost just short of £20 so basically I had to pay over half again just to have my case delivered.
I will not be using Punkcase anymore and will also be mentioning this to friends and my Instagram followers.

Don't be fooled as I was by the fancy…

Don't be fooled as I was by the fancy website and reductions in price.
This company purports to be in the UK but infact they're in Brooklyn New York USA.
You won't know this until you have about a seven week delivery as I did and about £15.00 postage costs.
When my case did arrive it was the wrong colour.
I contacted the seller and he did reply - eventually, with instructions on how to return it but I had to pay return postage.
Luckily I bought through Paypal - and they paid the return postage for me, which was another £15.00
The item was returned as instructed with clear details of why and what colour I had ordered.
Sadly weeks went by and I heard nothing; so I went to Resolution with Paypal.
As soon as the e-mail was sent to the seller from them I got a refund.
All well and good you might say, but it was a lot of hassle I didn't need, a couple of months had gone past and I still had no case.
I noticed their website's are still up and running.
My advice is to avoid this company at all costs.
If you don't be very careful indeed, they are not as good as they would have you believe.

Awful product, even worse customer service

This is an awful company - AVOID!
They are actually a US company, despite calling themselves PunkCase UK.
This means that when they send you a different product to the one you ordered and paid for - as happened to me - you need to ship it back to the US at your own cost. They refused to send me a shipping label, even though the error was theirs.
So, I’m now £20 out of pocket for the case, plus £5+ for the return shipping. They’ve had the returned case for more than 3 weeks now and no sight of the refund.
In addition to the appalling customer service, the case itself was rubbish - poorly made - and not even the right one.

Received wrong case, returned and are now claiming they haven’t received item when tracking says delivered and signed! They’re Refusing to refund, forcing me to escalate to PayPal.

They have shocking customer service, very lazy replies and not professional at all!
