Great team - great customer service
Generally the customer service is great from this team. They are all personable and friendly but also professional. In particular Harlie has been so good. She really 'owns' your issue and takes full responsibility for finding an answer or solution. She has consistently got back to me when she said she would with an answer. On top of this she is super warm and approachable.

Great service from QDOS
I needed some specific insurances in place due to some of my clients staff working from my office. Rebecca understood what we needed, liaised with the underwriters and worked out the best policies. It was all very easy, very professional and a great quote.
Many thanks,
Sean.

Can purchase cover but not covered
Was looking for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability for my UK based limited company as well as travel insurance for a job I was going on. Went through everything on their site till I noticed the travel insurance required you to be resident in UK. As I am resident in France I queried this in chat only to be told that even though my company is domiciled in UK as I am not they could not cover me for any of the insurances. Which is fair enough apart from the fact that for the public liability and professional indemnity the only statement they ask you to confirm is that your company is UK domiciled. So if it had not been for the fact that I also required travel insurance I would have proceeded with the cover and not actually have been covered.
When I pointed this out to the operator the response was nonchalant.
Absolutely disgraceful service and there may be people out there who believe they are covered but if they need to claim would find out that they are not. Which considering the cover is for millions in public liability and professional indemnity is shocking.
Turnover misconception
I'm about to renew my insurance with QDOS and I'm completely disgusted with their attitude towards the concept of turnover.
They just decided to ignore the law and every single definition of Turnover in the UK.
They are saying in clear words that for them (the only company in the UK that thinks like that) turnover includes VAT.
This way, they can charge more insurance premiums.
This is not just wrong but against the law and might invalidate an insurance in a case of claim as they might just say: "Oh, we will not pay your claim because you paid for an insurance that is not in your turnover threshold".
I spoke with a manager there and they went to the senior management and came with the same absurd response in less than 1 hour of "investigation".
Just Google it, TURNOVER DOES NOT INCLUDE VAT.
Going downhill
Used to be very good, but going downhill rapidly.
Website not clear, renewals online difficult to understand, this year they took my money then emailed to say not covered as I had not accepted terms - so why did it let me proceed and take my money.
I get the feeling they rely on too much automation rather than employing helpful and knowledgeable staff like they used to.
Once they were good ... now they just an aggressive insurance pressure sales company
I have been a very long term customer of this company for all of the years I was contracting. They were good once when they were just qdos but at some time in the not too distant past about the time IR35 came in they turned to pressure selling and where they were once helpful they have now become aggressive. They have twice now ignored my instructions to cancel Professional Indemnity, Public and Employers Liability cover and sneakily added it the the direct debit we have for tax liability cover. I just spotted an auto renewal they have given themselves the ok to add and have given me an aggressive attitude on he phone in trying to get them to cancel them. The girl even said if we cancel it now it wont apply for any of the past years we had it. Can you believe that appalling misinformation. They have become an aggressive pressure sales company now. I'm glad I'm getting away from needing them anymore and if I wasnt I would go elsewhere.
