I changed plans
I changed plans, it still charged me money, worst experience ever
Horrible illegal practices locking you…
Horrible illegal practices locking you into the platform. You pay once, they charge forever, no way to get out!
I'm using free tier and it's great
I'm using free tier and this is the best option if you know how to find the workaround.
Awful and dangerous!
Awful and dangerous!! signed up with free tier to self-host n8n. Moved all my workflows over there. After a week... everything was gone. Terrible service, lost weeks of work.
Good
Good service and amend for their mistakes.
Plans are a bit confusing at times
Big fan here
Big fan, couldn't be much better.
You can deploy your service fast in test, and if you need you can also deploy a testing branch to your Git feature branch. I mean, for a free service, what more do you want! :)
Cheers Render.com
great easy deployment
It's so easy to deploy and there is even a great free tier, the free tier spins down with 15 seconds no requests, but it's free and does not take much to go back automatically and just for a bit of money you can make it never spin down, really, really easy to set up
Well set up for hosting small scale APIs
Avoid the free plan, it will take ages for responses. But, the entry level paid tier is absolutely fantastic for small scale projects. For $7.00 a month, you get instant responses, it is super easy to set up an api, and then, super simple to keep it updated by linking a GitHub repository. Fantastic!
Don't waste your time on Render’s free tier
Don't waste your time on Render’s free tier. I spent hours setting up and deploying a data dashboard, only to find out that the app goes to sleep and doesn’t reliably wake up. The initial deployment worked, but after some idle time, it just stopped responding — returning “Bad Gateway” errors for anyone trying to access it.
The worst part? There’s no clear warning upfront. You only realize the limitations after you’ve committed real time and energy into getting things running.
The free tier is not just limited — it’s broken. It gives the illusion of being portfolio-friendly or good for testing, but it simply isn’t stable enough to trust for anything public-facing. Save yourself the frustration and use another platform.
Fake prices
Fake prices, instead of charging you 4.50 an hour for one GPU, it charges you $5.00 to use 7 GPUs for three minutes. It's ridiculous.
Beware
Beware - Do not sign up for the free plan!
Avoid. The free plan that they offer requires a credit card and promises no fees, but after you begin trying it out, they will begin charging your CC. I went from discovering their free plan to $40 being charged to my CC and they refused to refund. Then when I cancelled my account, they continuously bill you more charges - it's a joke. I've flagged them with my payment provider and blocked any further payments, but the charges keep coming in every day. Like every day i get a new one. This is a trap and sharp practice, trust me, avoid this site and do not give them your CC details no matter what. I've never had anything like this happen before but wanted to write about my experience to show others what to expect.
Render bad customer service
My app is not building and not retrive any errors, i jump on their chat maybe they can help me, nothing... 2 days with ticket created my app still not running. My honest experience about them is they are big and doesn't care anymore is just one fish on a big sea....
Disappointing Experience with Render
I closed my Render account, thinking that all services would be canceled, but to my shock, I was still charged immediately after the account was closed. It’s incredibly frustrating to see charges continue even when you believe your account is inactive.
Their complicated billing practices lack transparency, and it feel deceptive. I cannot recommend Render based on my experience.

Payments Processed and then Account deleted with no explanation.
My account was deleted without my permission and payments still being processed. The customer care has been absolutely shocking without any support on the issues raised

The worst customer care I have ever seen
Where should I start? I was using Render service free with option to renew. After 2 months all our customers Start complaining. Render has suspended our Service witouth even telling us.
Morale: we Lost 7.000$ dollars worth of customers + our brand reputation, that Is why we are going to sue this crappy Company called Render.
4 days have been passed and they still have not restored out account over a mere 8$ Payment. We tried every credit card we have, some used Daily worldwide with 0% problems.
We contacted our card holder companies and they told us there Is a bug on Render's side and they also told us to verify better if the render company is legit or scammy.
THE ONLY OPTION THEY HAVE FOR ASSISTANCE IS A STUPID EMAIL, THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER CARE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE.

Don't trust your service\api to…
Don't trust your service\api to Render.com. They blocked us manually and said "Suspended by Render. Your service has been suspended due to a high volume of service-initiated traffic. Upgrade to a paid instance to restore your service."
Actually we had 5-10k request in day to our NodeJs API and 100mb traffic/month!

Dodgy and unclear business
Don't use this company, they have unclear explanations on how their tier memberships work and will charge you a lot of money for a little usage of the server/disk. Furthermore their customer service is unpolite and aims to blame the customer.

Do not use this scam.
You pay for free tier services. I hosted an application and found myself with a $23 bill yet I didn't even use it much. Also, it's slow as hell but I understood because it was free tier, but why was I charged that much? I still don't know.

I wanted to deploy my project and found…
I wanted to deploy my project and found that render.com offers affordable hosting solutions. so I decided to use it but I encountered difficulties finding comprehensive documentation for deploying apps on their platform. The available documentation was not informative and unhelpful, lacking in clear explanations.
I discovered that they mentioned rendercli as a tool for installation. Yet, when attempting to install rendercli using choco install rendercli, Chocolatey did not recognize rendercli as part of their available packages. This indicates that rendercli is not readily available.
Unfortunately, their community support proved unhelpful. When raising an issue, they often failed to respond promptly. Additionally, the moderators who did respond were not familiar with my preferred language, resulting in generic initial suggestions that did not effectively address my concerns. As a result, I ended up sending multiple messages and emails, but received no resolution.
