I needed to hire a skip for a wait and load service. I googled "skip hire" and the city where I live. I found a company with an address local to me and a phone number with the area code for my city. I dialled and spoke with a very helpful lady. We agreed a wait and load service for the following Wednesday. I gave my card details and duly received an invoice/receipt by email. The only thing of note was that it came from REM Waste. So far so good.......
By late afternoon on the day of the supposed delivery there was no sign of the skip. I phoned the local number but NOW I was put in a queue for a call centre. I will cut a long story short but the low lights are 1. waiting a long time to get connected each time I phoned (and I phoned 8 times) 2. call centre staff who say the same thing over and over again and will NEVER give a straight answer to a question 3. Assurances that supervisors will call back - they never do. 4. Assurances that the skip was on the way - it wasn't. I was just being lied to the whole time. The skip did not arrive until late afternoon on the day after it had been ordered for and even then, the driver wasn't aware that it was the wait and load service. This is absolutely the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I would have given 0 stars if that had been allowed. They have wasted hours of my time and, I'm sure, sent my blood pressure sky high. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. When looking to book with a local skip company, do not be suckered in, as I was and make sure to ask if they are part of REM -Renewable Energy Marketing -you will do yourself and a genuine local business a favour.
