By the way some people here are writing these reviews it makes me wonder if they are salty about being rejected

It took me 3 days (2 days 14 hrs) from when I clicked applied to when I had my first paying gig. I picked up some leaves for $60 for like 2hrs and was paid in cash on the spot

Everything was as it says .. apply then orientation then train then test the test is easy it's based on life skills like what do you do when you break a client's possession. You apologize duh?

Not a scam so far so good

I was scammed by them

I applied for their handyman position. They hook you in with a decent pay per hour and the illusion of starting fast. Don't waste your time, they're a bogus company. They make it difficult all the way thru with the hope you give up, take the loss and move on. They charge $47 for their "shirt, badge and insurance" and they run Craigslist ads all over the country from what I've seen. Figure in all these a
states at least a few hundred people in every location, probably everyday, sign up paying $47... You do the math. People looking for work, probably low on cash and they scam people out the little of what they have. Tmrw I'm calling my credit card company to reverse the charge.

I lost money with Rent A Tech. When I call them to hang up on me. They have made claims of being Better Business Bureau accredited. But they are not members of the BBB and they have been flagged by the Better Business Bureau for making such statements.

They did not have to set it up like this

This company portrays itself as being a company that you can start work for right away at almost no cost. If you are trying to go to work for them they make you go through there training that is free and pass a 10 question quiz that very few if any will pass. Or go through there training course and pass an open book test. Prior to being able to test you must spend 45 bucks for a shirt and name tags and buy there damage waiver. Another 45 bucks. Untill a test is passed you don't get there welcome kit and you purchase a damage waiver for work you have not done. Shady. Now if they would have set it up in a way where they just tell you do the handyman course so they can say your certified then buy the welcome kit and insurance would have been stand up. They obviously are enticing people with good money counting on every one getting pissed off and not moving forward. They will not confirm they even have work. I do believe for those that put up with there messed up manipulatin they have work

This company always has work for you to do. I like how they let you talk to other pros through the groups so you know they are not hiding anything. Finished my 5th work order on Friday and I already see the $500 bonus pending in my account just like they said it would. They really do treat you like family

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. They have one person to run their corporate office. I was called mam and miss many times after explaining I’m a male. And my voice is extremely deep. The personal was rude and continued being unprofessional. To top it off this was the initial interview. I beg you to stay away from this company. As a contractor or company you won’t regret it. They refuse to give me a refund and I never even worked for them. They take your money and do absolutely nothing but disrespect and give you the run around. Go look them up on the bbb. They did not answer one complaint cause they just don’t care. This is a scam I promise you!

SCAMMERS!!!

After facing a refusal from one pro and extremely rude behavior (a hang-up during a conversation) from another regarding the quoted $120.00 rate, we ultimately engaged Cedrick. We paid Cedrick $150.00 upfront for materials (refrigerant). On the scheduled installation day (Oct 16th), Cedrick's timeline became suspicious (claiming a 3.5-hour trip for a 1-hour drive) and he failed to provide necessary photos or return calls. After wasting an entire day citing continuous issues (like being unable to find Acetylene), Cedrick abruptly stated he would not do the work and ceased all communication. His continuous delays and unprofessional, last-minute cancellation directly caused us to lose the client associated with this job, resulting in significant damage to our business reputation and revenue.

He never bought the materials, or did the job. When we asked for a refund, EARTHCARE refused to do so by saying that the job was completed. We gave them evidence that the work was not completed, but they simply stopped responding to our calls and emails.

They ask for a start up fee which they will also send you a uniform shirt and badge. I paid the start up, then was sent to do other tasks. I decided it was too much involved for the initial start up that i decided to move on. I requested a refund and they give you another run around, I still have not received a refund, no shirt, no badge, just me out of the money.

ITS SCAM BE AWARE!

About 4 months ago, I contacted Rentatech (also known as Earth Care) because they advertised subcontracting opportunities for cleaning and handyman work. They required me to purchase a “subscription” that supposedly covered my uniform, ID badge, and insurance needed to start working with them. I paid around $110 in total, trusting that I would receive real job opportunities afterward.

However, after paying, the company made it practically impossible to qualify for any work. They required a “qualification test” consisting of ten confusing questions conducted over the phone by someone who was clearly unprofessional. I could even hear a TV playing loudly in the background. The person spoke unclearly, repeated questions in loops, and made the process intentionally confusing.

During the test, they expected me to memorize random phone numbers, acronyms, and email addresses, along with their so-called company policies, an unrealistic and meaningless process clearly designed to make applicants fail.

After multiple failed attempts and wasted time, I requested a refund. That’s when the process turned even more absurd. To “qualify” for a refund, they required me to schedule a phone appointment and then sent me a list of tasks to complete within two hours. The tasks included:
• Writing an essay about my “wonderful experience” with their company.
• Recording a three-minute video recommending their services and saying how great they are.
• Completing other unnecessary and humiliating requirements clearly designed to discourage refunds.

This company promotes itself with fake testimonials and deceptive marketing to appear legitimate. In reality, they charge job seekers for uniforms and insurance, then make it impossible to work or get their money back.

I’m sharing my experience to warn others not to fall for this scam. Do not pay Rentatech or Earth Care any money upfront. they are exploiting people who are genuinely looking for work.

Company has very questionable hiring…

Company has very questionable hiring practices. You have to pay for items before they allow you to test, then have random questions that have nothing to do with a job. You have to answer 10 right with one wrong. The questions are very vague. Do not try to go though the hiring process. Seems like a total scam.

I wish I could give them a zero

I wish I could give them a zero. I was promised a licensed electrician. Instead they posted my home address on craigslist and 4 different sketchy people randomly showed up throughout the day none of them background checked or licensed. They have no qualifications. No work was done and no one answers the phone, email or texts. I am out $250 and my family was at risk with random people coming to the house.
