It's a good idea and it was simple enough to do, but the Terms and Conditions are punitive. The concept of not getting a response in 7 days then automatically charging, I don't think that one will make through court. The £30 annual fee is fine, but only mentioned late on. The £100 admin fee applied for....unclear. They are basically hoping you forget that you did this in a years time and then they shaft you. Most companies have moved on from these businesses practices. I see a compensation scheme on the horizon in a few years.

Reposit, a nightmare
When I bought the flat last year I inherited the tenant and Reposit. What a nightmare that turned out to be! The previous owner had bone of the papers in place that were required by Reposit like references, guarantor, signed inventory etc. I spent hours despairing, trying to get quotes for all the repairs, trying unsuccessfully to connect with the former rental agency. Reposit constantly hounded me , asking me for more info. I had many chats some of which were helpful. And all for £400 that I was awarded! Never again will I go near Reposit. An old-fashioned deposit has always worked for me and I never has any problems

Reposit made my life difficult
Reposit took my card details and only allowed payment of my deposit only if I allowed future payments to be automatically allowed to be deducted. It then deducted a cost from my bank which was not applicable to me. The whole process of paying deposit and renting a place was so much easier before my landlord decided to go with reposit.

Having reviewed your account, we can see that you chose to use Reposit for your new tenancy after also using it for your previous tenancy. Based on this, we understood that you were happy to continue using the product. As with your previous tenancy, Reposit was offered as an alternative to paying a traditional refundable cash deposit, and tenants are free to choose which option best suits their circumstances. If you had been unhappy with the Reposit terms, you could instead have chosen to pay a traditional cash deposit.
In relation to your payment card, Reposit requires a valid payment method to be held on file as part of the agreement you accept during sign-up. This allows us to collect payments only where they become due under the terms of the Reposit agreement.
Regarding the charge you have referred to, we can see that this relates to the annual fee for your previous Reposit. This fee was applied because your previous Reposit remained active when it reached its anniversary date, as the tenancy had not yet been checked out. Once this was identified, the annual fee was refunded to you in full. We appreciate that this may have been frustrating, but we're pleased the matter was resolved promptly.
