Good breadth of work surveys available, most will not fit, but the options are there. Just got to do the work to find and apply. Can't complain, UI is good, and turn around time is acceptable.

Sad lack of Support services + payment changes

Recent changes to the payment methods (removing the PayPal option and providing voucher options only) came as a surprise as no notification was given. When I tried to query, the AI agent said they were going to transfer me to a human agent but actually did nothing.

I've been a Respondent user for 2 years…

I've been a Respondent user for 2 years and my experience overall has been great, really good opportunities and the client service is decent, fast response but most of cases they take the interviewers side. One big down side is the payments time and method, sometimes it can take too long to mark you as paid and also to receive the payment. Other thing is that the method of payment is not that great, in my opinion it would be better to just pay you via Paypal or bank account like Askable or Utest.

I really love using Respondent

I really love using Respondent. I have been using it for about a year and have on average made about two hundred dollars a month for just a few hours a month. It is easy to apply for the surveys. You can apply for as many or as few as you want, depending on how busy you are. It is very easy to schedule an interview once invited, and the process is very smooth. And then the payouts you get paid fairly soon, within a reasonable time limit after you have completed the survey or interview via PayPal or vouchers, which is great.

I really enjoyed my experience with Revolut x app

I really enjoyed my experience with Respondent! The process was smooth, the study was interesting, and the payment arrived quickly through Tremendous. I'm definitely looking forward to participating in future studies.

However, I would like to flag one issue: the Virtual Visa prepaid card offered as a reward is unfortunately not accepted in Romania. I tried using it on multiple platforms — eMAG, PayPal, and Wise — and all of them declined it. This makes it very difficult to actually use the reward money and I still wait an response from Tremendous how can I use the money.

It would be great if Respondent or Tremendous could offer a more accessible payment option for participants in Romania, such as a direct bank transfer or Wise, which supports local bank accounts in RON.

Overall a great platform — just hoping the reward options improve for Romanian participants!

Such a great place!

Such a great place. I love the newly updated Respondent!
Could you please consider PayPal or any other global method of withdrawing our earnings? Gift cards and Virtual Visas don't really work in some of our countries🥺

Worth it? Somewhat.

Been using Respondent for about a year. Based on my 3 years of experience participating in 100’s of studies online & in-person research projects. 1000’s of surveys and tried most; User Interviews, UserTesting, Branded Surveys, SAGO, YouGov, etc.

YOU DON’T ALWAYS GET PAID!
Let's address the really bad behaviour from researchers when you participate in Respondent's projects first.

I've only experienced this for AI interviews - Even when you articulate yourself well, answer everything in full and the interviewing AI responds your answer is thoughtful and interesting, you can and will from time to time get rejected and that 45mins you spent giving your all won't be paid.

In one month I had three projects all conducted with an AI interviewer that ever got paid. Many more after that - it's random. A tell sign is if you don't get a participating number straight after and then a confirmed attendance email.

Funny enough this never happens for a live video or in-person interview…
I have close to an A star rating on all other platforms, always give honest & clear feedback. Some researchers don’t like too much honesty or if you are too negative - or as they call it: ‘The quality of your answers didn’t align with their questions’.

So, in summary - there will be times you spend 30-45min on a project, never get confirmed attendance, project closes and is never paid.

SCREENERS QUOTA
Only 5 screeners per 24 hours.
You can only apply for 5 projects per day though most days that's not a problem.
- Top Tip. If you feel during the application process this won’t work for you, quit the screener and go back to the main page. That way you don’t loose a screener.

TRACKING OF PROJECTS
It's impossible to keep track of confirmed, attended and in progress projects, some are multi day ones and if there's an issue - good luck finding that exact one as many have the same or similar title.

PAYMENT CASH & GIFT CARDS
Payday is usually 7-12 days after finishing the project. Once the Researcher release the funds, Respondent sits on that money for another 5 days before it’s passed on to you.
Anything under £20 can be paid via PayPal.
Any amount beyond that is gift card or virtual credit card only.

COSTUMER SERVICE
They just started using AI for first email contact...sigh... it's called James only at the end of email you realise it's a bot where it mentions 'A human agent can review your specific case with the details you've provided to investigate further if needed. Does this help clarify the situation'.
Only then a human costumer service comes back to you. However, with a problem like the one above the human agent just refer to their C&T: 'The Researcher have the right to not accept your effort and therefore not pay you'. No reason is ever given. The AI bot decides for the researcher at the end of each project. Respondent won't help there.

If you are ok with not always get paid - go for it.
If you are NOT ok with that - Avoid it.

Good Luck

Valuable platform with room for improvement in payouts and project transperancy

i`ve participated in research studies through Respondent and overall its a legitimate platform with interesting projects and a smooth sign up process. I like that they connect participants with real researchers and that the studies are often relevant and well described, The communications from the Respondent side has generally been clear, and its a good way to earn rewards for sharing your opinions and experiences.

However my experience hasn`t been perfect .One serious challenge i faced was with a reward redemption ,especially with the virtual card option here in kenya. It can be difficult to use in some cases and not all platforms accept it easily. I strongly feel they should consider adding more flexible payout options like Paypal, direct bank transfer , or services like Venmo, which would make rewards much easier and more practical to use for international participants.

I also had a situation where i completed a project and was marked as attended but later the study was shown as cancelled without a clear explanation from the researcher. That part was frustrating and created uncertanity about payment , Better transparent and follow up in such cases would really improve participant experiences.

Despite these issues , Respondent still offers valuable opportunities and i appreciate the concept and the types of studies available. With improved payout and clearer handling of cancelled or disputed sessions, the platform could be better for participants

"Come on in, the water's fine"

I have been a participant for almost a year. Miss the PayPal payouts. I was not paid for some of the projects that were completed. However, the issue has to be addressed outside of the platform.

Customer service is friendly and quick at answering questions. The daily limit on screeners should include modifiers. Sometimes, I may qualify for a study, and find out the quota was already reached.

Respondent provides unique opportunities for every niche. The email invitations motivate me to apply consistently. Thank you.

Excellent experience, disappointing payment method change

I am very happy with the service and the overall experience has been excellent so far. However, I was disappointed when payments stopped being available via PayPal and were replaced by prepaid or gift cards. Unfortunately, these cards are not widely accepted in Italy and often result in lost value, making it difficult to use the incentives properly.

I would really appreciate the option to be paid via PayPal again, as it allows much more flexibility and real usability of the rewards. If PayPal payments are reinstated, I would gladly update my review to 5 stars. Thank you

Quick & Easy Money!

Respondent is a great platform to earn in your free time! There’s various project types, payouts, and intriguing studies to choose from. You can earn as little or as much as you want by applying to studies up to 10 times a day with majority being self paced while others are scheduled. However, one thing I wish the platform would bring back is the option for PayPal payouts for ALL incentives.

No logical or true payments

It seems to be a good company to work with. Assignments are interesting and varied and there are a lot of them. I would have easily given them five stars but their payment system now is horrid. I done some projects with them before when they paid via paypal. Now they use the company Tremendous that offers gift cards as payment. I do know the Tremendous offers a PayPal and a Venmo payout option but respondent has decided that they were not going to include that in their list of offerings. The closest you can get is a prepaid Visa card which is absolutely useless. I couldn't even use it on Amazon. There is a list of mile long of places that you are not allowed to use this card but then they tell you that it is accepted anywhere that the Visa logo is accepted. Which is just not true. Right now I have a couple hundred dollars of useless gift card because I can't seem to get anyone to help. Basically, I gave this company won't start because there is absolutely no point in trying to work with them if they are not willing to pay what they say they're going to. Don't believe you're doing a job for $250 because trust me you're not. If they'd like to change the pay structure back to something logical and stop lying about their payments and I would be more than happy to change this from a one until five rating. But until that happens I can't see this company lasting in the long run. Participants are going to run out when they realize there's no pay that's all useful.

They always have tasks to keep you…

They always have tasks to keep you earning and have a high payout ceiling for your participation. The platform is user friendly and easy to navigate in. As always they send my payment directly to my paypal account without any type of hiccups. I think it's a great company and I am happy to be a active participant for them.

More tests, but worse pay options

Respondent now allows you to do 10 tests daily. But they have gone 100% to Tremendous VISA payments, and no more PayPal. This is crippling, since Tremendous doesn't allow physical store payments for things like food and gas (they don't provide a scannable strip anymore). Please bring back PayPal for payments.

Many Opportunities, Quick Payment

Respondent offers many new opportunities every day to make money. When you do qualify and participate in a study, compensation is sent fast. The pay can be very high and Respondent does a good job of helping you keep track of payments. Compensation is now mostly through Tremendous which is a little more limiting than the previous payment method of PayPal, but there are still several ways to use it. I recommend Respondent if you are looking for chances to voice your opinion on a variety of products and services and make some extra cash, too!
