I am in this situation with 555€ lost.
I created this FB account to try to list all undelivered and not paid off orders.
Then we could have an idea of damages total.
To all people in conflict, thank you for giving us the amount and the number of orders.
To all legal persons, thank you for helping us.
Idea could be to give you a percentage of the paid off sums.
Thank you for following this collective try

Website Shutdown - Refunds?
My partner spent £300 on retrofurnish last month, unfortunately without having read the reviews here! She was in correspondence with somebody last week, who confirmed that the order was being processed, but as of yesterday the website has shut down, no response to emails etc.
I presume there are plenty of people in the same boat, and I'm hoping that a knowledge share here might result in some refunds:
I think we can presume that Retrofurnish won't voluntarily process refunds. Another comment on Trustpilot mentioned having reported the company to the Scottish police force, who went to investigate the property, to find that the address is just a mail box, and that the outfit seems to be based in China. I would be interested to hear from anybody who has attempted legal action. Did you find out who to take action against, and where their company/their money is based?
An article about retrofurnish was published in the Guardian this Summer, detailing one customer's bad experience. That customer had paid with a debit card (like my partner) and was advised to request his bank for a chargeback of the amount paid. The article did not say whether this request was successful or not. By the looks of it, retrofurnish move their money around (Scotland, Monaco, China) to avoid taxes, so it's unlikely that a high street bank in the UK will be able to track down their bank in order to request the chargeback. If you paid with a credit card you have a much better chance of a refund, as the companies are required to reimburse customers for orders of over £100 that don't arrive. Contact your provider ASAP!
My partner has requested a chargeback from her bank in the UK, so I will post any updates here. She has been warned that these things often take many months to process, and often don't result in success. As far as pressuring the company to provide refunds goes, I think it makes sense to work as a group, rather than lots of disparate investigations? I presume Retrofurnish owe its customers/victims(!) tens of thousands of pounds collectively, and thus it amounts to quite a serious case of fraud.
Please do comment here if you are considering legal action, if you have managed to get a refund from Retrofurnish, or if your bank or credit card provider has had any success in recouping losses. If lots of people want to share info/mobilise, perhaps we can find an easier means of communication!
All best,
Seth
Beware
I placed an order 9th September still no sign of the goods, I have left 2 voicemails, sent 2 emails and also tried live chat and no reply!!
Do not use
Avoid, it's such a scam
I ordered a media unit in February, said would not be delivered until April. I decided that was ok but it's now September and nothing. Every 2 months there is a "progress report" but nothing. I have emailed and never received an email. I am getting my bank to try and recover money.
I wish I had checked out reviews before - I have never felt so duped about online shopping as this.
Company needs reporting and not allowed to trade.
DO NOT ORDER anything from them
Had the same experience as below... Ordered 3 Eames chairs in April, never received them. I don't understand why the website is still running and no legal action has been taken against them. I wish I had checked trustpilot before !!!
No product, no response -- still in business? Don't give them any more money
Ordered two tables May 11 (2016). Delivery date to be 7/22 -- 8/6. No delivery. No explanation. On 8/26 I sent email asking about status. No reply. On 8/26 also started calling (520 991 0954). Have so far called nine times. Answering machine only; cannot leave a message because company is "not accepting messages." Seems like the company may be out of business, though their website is still soliciting business and collecting money. Somebody should investigate. They've ripped off a bunch of people. Where are they headquartered?
This is a scam
I would not order here. Only thin I received is a vague message about the concerns regarding the company. No chairs so far
No delivery
I ordered 2 lamps an other items in February. In March I received one of these lamps but in an awful condition. And there was no second lamp. i wrote them an email. Nothing happend. After a week I asked again. Nothing happend. I asked the third time. After an additional week, they offered me a discount (I never got it yet!). But I wanted a lamp in a good condition and I wanted a second one. No answer. I insisted. No answer for 3 weeks. They promised tosen two new lamps. That was in early may. Since then I sent thre other emails and it is end of august now. And (of course!) I didn't receive anything yet. :-( Never buy there!
SCAM!
this company is such a scam!! check people's tweets on their page! peopled are screwed all over! I cancelled my order on 8 June, got confirmation on 5 July and still didn't get my money back!!
bad organisation
i ordered my goods march this year and still not received any goods, only emails the shipment been delayed many times. when asking for money back no response.
Very bad experience, unacceptable service
We ordered a small table notified "available - on stock" on Retrofurnish´s website beginning of November 2015. We transferred the money at the same date, Retrofurnish received it and then we got an confirmation of order. In this confirmation, they told us that the delivery was expected between 31.12.2015 and 14.01.2016. On 15.01.2016, after an email from our side, we received an answer saying that the delivery was now planned for late February. They were not able to give us a precise delivery date.
We finally received the small table on 16.02.2016, and the only compensation they were able to do was a 20% discount on the next order...
We hope this notification will help you in your online purchase of furniture.
Legal action against Retrofurnish
I've been trying to get a bed delivered ever since ordering it at Oct 19th 2015. Lots of excuses and delays later, I now encounter silence via phone, mail and chat. My patience (fueled by positive experiences in the past) has at last run out.
Before I ask my attorney to draft a legal letter demanding my money (approx EUR 1000) back, I wonder if any of you have started procedures on your own?
Kind regards,
Pierre
Do not order
This is scam, ordered chairs in April but never came. They will take your money and you will never heard of them. They never answer phone's/email/livechat.
Still not sure if this is a legit company. This is their chamber of commerce number SC396508 - you can find it on the website of the Companies House of the British chamber of commerce page in case you need to sue:
Cowan & Partners 60 Constitution Street, Leith, Edinburgh, Midlothian, EH6 6RR
Absolute appauling experience
Order was confirmed and delivery in 10 days promised on May 10. Since then never heard anything again from that company.
Even though the value of the order is only EUR300, I shall sue them.
Worst company ever STAY AWAY!!
By far the shadiest company I have ever ordered from. Stay away from these crooks! I bet all the "great reviews" are them pretending to be customers! After waiting a couple months on an item that was supposedly in stock, I requested a refund. Kept telling me it was "in customs". Two weeks later the girl in San Leandro kept telling me the woman in Belgium hadn't got to my refund. I just filed a claim w/my bank & got my $300 back that same day. Wish I would of read these reviews before ordering. Never again ordering through a non-reputable online store. Not sure how these crooks are still in business. STAY AWAY!
RetroFurnish Do not Shop!!!
I ordered something back in February which I thought said in stock at the time. I spoke to sales agent who said it will be ready in May.....I still do not have the order. Company now not answering phone or returning calls or emails. I now realise this is a scam and I'll never receive my item. Do I'm proved wrong this is the worse customer service I've come across! Do not use this site!
One star is too much! Awful, scam of a company!
One star is too much!
This company will take your money and you will never see it or your ordered furniture.
It is an absolute scam company that has tested my patients. I have ordered two bar stools in February 2017 and 5 months later I have still not received anything. It is impossible to reach them by phone and when you do they say they can not help you..... Per email I have received only empty promises and nothing else.
Stay away, you have been warned.
Do not order form this company, Retro Furnish is a SCAM.
I ordered a chair in March, they took my money, the item was listed as in stock. It's now July... guess what, no chair. My online order record keeps changing the delivery date. I have tried to contact them on many occasions using different methods (email, phone, online chat) but no response - do not use this company. I only wish that I had read these reviews.
ARNAQUE
THEY SAY THE GOODS ARE IN STOCK BUT THEY AREN'T. THEY HAVE PUSHED BACK THE DELIVERY TWICE AND I'VE BEEN WAITING SINCE FEBRUARY (NOW JULY) FOR MY LIGHTS THAT THEY SAID WERE IN STOCK.
Disastrous experience
I ordered 8 chairs and expected them to arrive reasonably quickly. After 3 weeks I checked their seemingly excellent website only to discover that the order had been received but not yet processed, Their telephone either rings without answer or gives you a message saying you must be ringing out of office hours , which I was not. I am now trying to retrieve my money.
