While they eventually reversed the main charge, they are refusing to cover the international transaction fees caused by their error. To make matters worse, they won't explain how this happened, share how I can make a complaint and have now completely ghosted my emails. I suspect they refuse to admit the error because it proves their internal processes and security are not solid. Scams and silence—stay away.

My problem is not getting enough sleep and having issues getting to sleep. The app just used my current bedtime and told me to sleep longer.
Not sure how to stay asleep. Not sure how to fall asleep faster. The app did not help with any of this. It suggested some night time relaxation techniques that I have already tried and didn't work for me. Didn't ask if I already knew any of them.
Suggested the best time to take Melatonin was either when I was going to sleep or afterwards (?). Many experts in sleep hygiene recommend not using Melatonin as your body will not learn to sleep naturally without it.
Not sure what they think this really offers people. I went the sleep at my normal time and woke up earlier than I should have. Like I always do. Also, the recommended wake time is almost noon. Not sure how to swing that and actually would rather be able to get to sleep a bit earlier, so I get more sleep without waking up as late. No suggestions for how to do that.
The information in the site can be obtained by reading articles online. And I get more accurate suggestions from the articles. Why would I pay for that?

I love this app and the services connected to it. I didn't know that I could successfully address what I thought of as a sleep disorder. I started to use Rise last year. It takes time but there are so many things that I learned to do differently. I used to be a night owl, often unable to sleep until 2 and 3 am. I could never plan things for the morning because I couldn't rely on being able to function early in the morning or to get enough sleep the previous night. Even if I was in bed and thought I was asleep for 8 or 9 hours, I woke up very tired. It affected my mood, energy levels and memory function. I gradually learned from RISE how to use my body's natural melatonin, awareness of sleepiness, light and darkness to develop habits that set the stage for a good night's sleep. I now fall asleep easily and wake up quite naturally early in the morning and am alert and awake. I didn't strive for that, RISE tells you that if you start to do the right things, your own natural rhythm will emerge. They provide access to sessions with sleep experts who do really know a lot as well as the resources on the app. And believe it or not, the AI coaching was also really helpful.
(I also notice that most of the 1 star reviews are not about the program, but about issues with getting refunds--usually because we can sign up for things so many ways (Apple, Facebook, the app itself, etc. This is an issue with every app and then it is sometimes hard to remember or find out which place to contact to get a refund. I have had this happen with other apps and have learned to make notes on my phone when I sign up or buy anything.)

Where are the 320K positive reviews you boast on your onboarding site?

My 10 year old daughter ("accidentally") subscribed to this $120 app without permission. But there is no workable mechanism to request a refund or dispute it. So annoying how these tech companies fail to provide any customer service. I suppose that's the point.

Horrible app. You download for free app through Apple subscriptions but then they charge you for an entire year a week later. There’s nothing saying that you can’t stop the subscription from the App Store, I deleted the app, and it was not listed as a “subscription” in App Store, but then got hit with almost a $70 charge. Scammers!!!!! I requested a refund through their website and no response. Attempting to dispute the charge with my bank

Scam! Don’t have the app. Signed up to free trial and went to subscriptions to cancel and no subscription evident on my phone. a month later and $69 has come out of my account!!!!

They loop you into a “free” trial on both their app and phone subscriptions. So if you only remember to cancel one, a month later you get charged $60+ for the subscription. I also just don’t think the app works. It never has my wake or “energy drop” times accurate. I’d take a nap at noon. But it’d tell me I should have an energy spike at noon.

This is probably the #1 reason I still have a phone. Social media, meh, I don't need to know more about Trump. I do however need better sleep while I watch the world burn.
Humor aside- the scientific framework for thinking about concepts like sleep debt, how sleep works, and how to optimize for better sleep has been life-changing.
Who would have thought serious self-improvement could involve turning off all the media and burying yourself in a warm pile of blankets. Epic. Thanks Rise.

The app's focus on sleep debt and energy has been great for me. It removes all the other metrics from other apps and simplifies it down to only the things that really matter. Getting notifications throughout the day is a helpful way for me to stick to good sleep habits. Recommended!

Sleep is so important for ideal health. Just got my analysis started and the data is interesting, want to see how much it actually ends up fixing my sleep schedule. I had a hiccup with my membership and the support agent was helpful and got it hashed out

I am so glad I found this app. It's hard to believe an app can have a big impact on sleep, but after using it, I am already wayyy more productive and find myself more focused in my day-to-day.
Sleep debt is a concept that is quite new to me, and after calculating my sleep debt score with Rise, I am committed to paying it all off haha.
User experience 10/10, highly recommended!
I’m outraged to realised that I have been charged after £103 signing up two months ago. I was supposed to be paying £10 a month. £32 was charged on first month. Then I cancelled and I have been charged three more times to a total of about £75!! I don’t even have access to my account any more to check what is going on. This should not be happening.

So I’m not the first cancelling a free trial on time. To be charged still for a year?
Fraudulent bastards. The only thing you can say is sorry? And that it shouldn’t have been liked that. You sound like men who always cheat. You’re just trying to see who “buys” into your bullshit. By the looks of below reviews the “mistake” keeps repeating itself. It’s f**cking 2025, get it right G**D***it! Or just don’t offer free trials.

This app isn't helpful if you (1) already have a consistent bedtime and wake time and (2) have a job that forces you to work outside of your circadian rhythm "ideal" sleep/wake schedule. It's great that my schedule should be midnight to 8:30am, but my job, partner, and life require me to be awake by 7 and at work by 8:30.
Also, my energy levels are fully opposite of the prediction - high when the app says they are low and low when the app says they are high. And I have no way to adjust them.
It probably works if you don't already have a set schedule and can sleep whenever you want, but I'm mad I paid them money to be told to go to bed and wake up at the time I already was.

Done the week free trial, cancelled the free trial on the day it was meant to end. They still tried to charge me the full year price the day after I cancelled. I’ve deleted the account so I’m hoping they won’t try to charge me again. If they do I won’t be happy and I will be putting a complaint in to someone higher up.

would rate a zero if possible, Signed up for a free trial, within 24 hours I cancelled I didn't feel like it was accurate fo me. have been charged monthly since, which is legitimate fraud. tried contacting through your horrible app, submitted multiple requests and still getting charged.

Signed up for a free trial, took the quiz and decided it was not for me straight away. Cancelled the same day and was still charged for a year's subscription a week later?! I have contacted you via email to refund the fraudulent charge and have received no response.

Easy to use and it helped me figure out my ideal bedtime and wake time. I love the feature where it tells me my afternoon energy crash of the day. And then I connect it with my coffee timing to make sure I don’t drink coffee too late in the day.

The app is great! Nice and clean UI/UX. I like how it shows sleep debt and tells me when my optimal energy levels are. I never realized how much my energy levels fluctuated day to day until I started tracking my sleep debt. The app makes it so easy to understand when I’ll be at my best and helps me stay consistent with my routines. It’s become a daily habit and I genuinely feel better and more productive because of it.
