Excellent from start to finish!

Excellent from start to finish!

Used Rose Removals November 2025. Dealt with two young gentlemen Tom & Sam. Communications couldn’t have been clearer. And they arrived as arranged. (I even had to rearrange the move after a key delay, and they had no issue coming another time)

Both guys were very careful throughout, and clearly had a lot of respect for the furniture. And items.

Would definitely recommend and will use again! Thanks Rose Removals.

First class removers

I’ve used Rose Removals several times now for ourselves and my Dad. Absolutely brilliant. Very professional and recently did a great job moving my late Dad’s furniture into storage. Removal guys were excellent. And everything packed into storage very carefully. Have just emptied the storage today, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Thank you!!

Over Estimated

We used Roses for my mothers move as she had previously used them 10 years ago.
We Could not have been more disappointed this time.
The volume of contents that was to be moved was relatively small yet they arrived with a huge lorry which ended up only being a quarter full, it then meant it did not fit down the drive to the new property and the lorry therefore had to park curb side on the grass and churned up the grass in doing so. The extra fuel required for a large lorry and environmental impact of using a large lorry versus a small one was unnecessary.

Roses quoted for the move to take 3 days, a day of packing, a day to move and a day allocated to drive back.
In reality they spent half a day packing, the move day they were finished and ready to drive back to Exeter at 2.00pm so no third day needed.
They are very good at their pre-move service in as much as they insist on full payment being made 10 days in advance of the move.
Their estimator not only got the volume wrong but also the time to do the move, a professional company should be spot on, I could have estimated this better.
When I emailed on the 2nd day of the move to raise these issues as ask for an adjustment to the quote due to it only taking 1 and 1/2 days versus the 3 quoted they were curt and disinterested.
I would not recommend Roses.

Reviews like this that are factually untrue are very disappointing. The estimator quoted for all the items your mother wanted to be included on the move. The move was therefore planned and costed accordingly. When we arrived to load up the items, your mother had disposed of some items and also left a significant amount behind for the next people moving in. We were not informed of this in advance therefore the men and days were booked and could not be changed without financial loss to ourselves. Had we been informed in advance we could have requoted and rescheduled. As for a big vehicle, this was needed because on an overnight, the crew sleep in the cab. It is very unfair to say the office was curt and disinterested. We tried to explain this to you but you were not interested in listening. You demanded compensation and if you did not receive it you would post a bad review. I do hope that anyone reading this will check out our many wonderful reviews on google & yell to see the true picture of Rose Removals and our professionalism and care

Poor customer service and engagement.

Getting a quote was easy and efficient. Then came the day of contract signing. We were at the end of the chain, clients waiting for us to complete contract.
Mum is in the solicitors office Monday 3rd eb. I contact Roses. The earliest date is Feb 20th. I request its reserved and placed on hold for a couple of hours? whilst solicitors make calls to the chain to agree. ROSES WILL NOT HOLD IT. I explain this is an elderly 86 year old lady and the process is stressful and daunting, but after placing me on hold and having a discussion with someone, the response is still no. DID NOT LIKE THE CUSTOMER CARE; WOULD NOT USE THEM AFTER THAT. So we turn to our 2nd quote. A most helpful competitor wit a 4 star ranking. They hold the 20th and the move date is checked and agreed by the 3 chain clients.
Getting a reserved slot is an essential part of the solicitors/clients agreeing the date to be stamped on the contract. You expect a processional remover to understand and engage with the process.
This company has a 2.5 rating. Not great. From our experience, i can understand why.
AMENDMENT
To clarify some of Roses, reply
The contracts were signed. Mum was in the solicitors office. The two other parties in the 3 level chain were awaiting for us to complete and offer a move date.
when I called, Roses had only 1 removal lorry left for the 20th Feb. Mum was now going down the road to make the chaps payment for the property purchase. I was assisting fix the move date. The completion was imminent. It just needed a call/email of agreement that her buyer could move on the 20th. This was all finalised the very same afternoon. All we needed was a hold on that one remaining removal lorry for a couple of hours.

This review is not an accurate account at all. We at Rose Removals bend over backwards to help our customers during the entire moving process. We understand how stressful it is particularly when you get to the point of exchange / completion. We do offer the opportunity for a customer to book any move knowing that it can be cancelled or changed any time up to 10 working days before the actual move date. If a customer is still unsure by this date we also offer a 'Booking Cancellation Waiver'. This small fee enables the customer to book with peace of mind that they can cancel or change the date right up to 5pm on the day before the move with no penalties and any deposits paid are fully refundable. This is pointed out to the customer on 3 seperate pieces of literature and also reiterated by the office. If the customer does not want to take this option we always strive to be as understanding and helpful as possible. Unfortunately in this case we actually were not told that exchange was imminent. Had we known this we would have held the date for a couple of hours as we have on numerous occassions. But also on the date in question we had good availability to carry out this move so it would not have been a problem. Therefore we are bewildered as to why this unfriendly review was necessary. Please check our 4.9 star reviews on both Google and Yell.
Reply to Ammendment.

As stated previously. We were NOT made aware the signing was imminent. If we had been made aware we would most definitely have held for an hour or so as we often do.

Whilst loading one of the crew dropped…

Whilst loading one of the crew dropped an antique full size Cheval mirror frame down our stairwell, it was a two man job shouldn’t have tried on his own. Witnessed by other crew, broken frame documented and photographed by crew and our selves. Roses took no responsibility at all. I sourced an antique restorer/ repairer, transported it 20miles for repair and collection.
Made a claim under insurance via Rose, cost accepted insurer paid minus excess. Suggested that Rose pay the excess (£50), not remotely interested declined just said I should read the small print. Be aware Rose can break any items regardless of value or careless/negligent handling with impunity at no cost to them at all.

Originally this customer gave us a 5 star review. The only reason for this review is because we did not agree to pay the £50 excess on his insurance. Everyone knows that if you have an excess on insurance you have to pay it. We dispute any negligence (original 5 star review). This was purely an accident and that is why insurance is taken out, to cover accidental damage. We did in fact take full responsibility and that is why the matter was dealt with quickly by insurers who paid for the repair. AVOID!!

AVOID!!
We used Rose Removals to relocate from Devon to Herefordshire in April 2024, the drivers and porters were very helpful but, read on.
A couple of days after the move we were unpacking and plugged a Samsung smart TV in, it became apparent that the screen had impact damage, we had paid Rose Removals an additional £420 for insurance and started a claim, photos and brief statement were sent and we were handed over to the claims handler ICA ( International Claims Agency), we heard nothing for two weeks then this.
After reviewing your claim we value your Samsung 28" smart tv at £35.00 based on a second-hand unit one their sales rep's found on Ebay!! Covered in cobwebs and advertised with no remote or power cable, great!!
I was told we had a £50 policy excess and they would not pay out a penny despite their liability. Rather than chase them through a small claims court, I am writing this review so.
Do not use Rose Removals or check the insurance.. and do not use the International Claims Agency they are both rubbish!! Good luck with your move.

Obviously we are very disappointed to read such a review and we hate that sometimes we just cannot please customers as they would like. The insurance offered to all our customers is a fair wear and tear policy not new for old and the terms of the insurance including the £50 excess are made clear prior to the move. This insurance is not mandatory, customers have the option to insure with their own home contents insurers or with a company of their choice. The sum of insurance paid is based on the complete move not 1 item. The TV in question was more than a few years old and therefore had depreciated in value. ICA always check on marketplaces like ebay to ascertain the current value. In this instance they found one for £35 and sent the details to the customer. The customer already had all the leads and remote so these were an unnecessary purchase. ICA do this to not only show a value but also to assist the customer should they wish to purchase a replacement. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL OUR 5 STAR REVIEWS TO GET A TRUE PICTURE OF ROSE REMOVALS

So disappointed

As with a comment from another customer I've used Rose Removals over many years for moves within and out of Devon and into storage. I've always been happy with the office staff and the removals teams. This last move from storage (in store 28 months) was an unhappy experience. I'm missing a box of items - nothing of great financial value but personal items nonetheless. I also commented that I felt some of the crew had been careless - standard lamp fittings damaged, some furniture coming out in a poorer state than it went in to store. I was informed by office staff that everything that went into storage came out but this is not the case. I do know my possessions. I wrote a balanced letter to Mr Rose giving positive feedback for my previous moves. I made no accusations; requested no compensation, I mentioned that with a number of different teams moving possessions in and out of store it is entirely possible for a box to break and contents to be dispersed. All I wanted was an acknowledgement and to be heard. Accidents do happen. Unfortunately no reply was forthcoming. I feel this is shabby customer service and reflects poorly on the Company and it's the end of what was a happy relationship at least on my part.

We did in fact respond to any queries but unfortunately we just could not find a satisfactory conclusion for you. We feel we did all we could to help but sadly you felt it was inadequate. I do hope that you will reconsider using us again as we would love to be able to restore your faith in our company. Our outstanding reviews on Yell & Google speak volumes

Excellent removal company and we've tried a few!

We have moved about 5 times in the last 14 years and having never been overly impressed we've tried different removal companies each time. We contacted Rose Removals this time as we were impressed that they train and employ their removal teams rather than bring in novice hired hands for the day. The 3 man team turned up on time at 9.00 am and boy did they graft! They worked solidly, only having drinks while they worked, rather than stopping for long. They were friendly and professional, took great care of our belongings and they worked as an effective team so were fast. Our new property was an hour away and they had moved us into our new home, with everything in the correct room and all by 2.30 pm. They were a pleasure to have with us on the day, we couldnt have done it without them and I would highly recommend Rose Removals.

Excellent service, extremely happy customers

Rose Removals were recommended to us by a friend. Jamie came to visit and we immediately liked and trusted his judgement and from then on, we could not have had a better service. Everything was communicated to us on time, the company kept in touch throughout the process and the team who actually carried out the removals were kind, helpful and very careful. For the first time in our history of moving house, nothing was broken or damaged - a shame that we hadn't met Rose Removals earlier! Thank you. Julia & Adam Dodd.

I do not understand this comment. We do not remove money from customer accounts? We only request any monies due for an agreed removal cost.

A dismal insurance claim experience…

A dismal insurance claim experience after Rose Removals damaged expensive Ligne Roset shelving during de-installation. Despite admitting the damage; taking the damaged pieces away; declaring the damage unrepairable; and sending me a claim form to complete they have told the insurers that the damage is superficial and cosmetic and what one should expect. Zero recompense. No apology. No contact from the family member who’s part owner of the business despite him attending site to inspect the damage himself on the day of the move. I have used this company several times all over the UK for both removals and storage over the last 25 years. Never again! Do not experience anything like this yourself and use another firm.
