Drone delivered does not work and…

Drone delivered does not work and customer service does not call back in a timely manner. It took several days to get a call and was told they would call back and it has been a week with no return calls.

Disappointed With Rotor Riot Quality Control & Customer Support

I recently purchased what was advertised as a ready-to-fly FPV drone from Rotor Riot, and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing.

Out of the box, the drone had incorrect motor direction despite being marketed as professionally built, tuned, and QC tested before shipment. As someone new to FPV, I specifically purchased a prebuilt system to avoid these exact kinds of setup and calibration issues.

During my first arming attempt, the motors immediately ramped uncontrollably to full throttle behavior. After additional troubleshooting and another real-world test flight with props installed, the drone continued to experience intermittent motor failure, instability, and repeated “Runaway Motors” warnings directly in the DJI goggles. The aircraft could not maintain safe flight.

What has been most frustrating is the response from customer support. Rather than acknowledging the possibility of a hardware or build issue, the responses consistently redirected responsibility back toward software explanations, Betaflight configuration, PID behavior, and user troubleshooting — despite video evidence showing incorrect motor direction and repeated flight failures.

I understand FPV drones require technical knowledge, but when a product is sold as professionally configured and flight-tested, customers should reasonably expect:

* Correct motor direction out of the box
* Stable hover capability
* Proper quality control verification
* Responsive support when serious flight issues occur

Instead, the experience has felt like I became the final QC department after purchase.

The FPV community is built heavily on trust, especially for newcomers investing significant money into prebuilt systems. Unfortunately, this experience damaged that trust for me.

I hope Rotor Riot improves its quality control process and customer service approach moving forward, because right now I cannot recommend their “ready-to-fly” products based on my experience.

Item cost $120 but doubled by the time it got to my door

Item cost $120, instead of telling me to order direct from supplier they mislead you by telling you item is in stock. Then charge you a tarrif surcharge of 25% of the total cost of the item. then when the item is about to be delivered the shipping company calls and say I owe $70 in tarrifs that weren't paid. The item basically doubles in price by the time it got here.
they are charging people for tarrifs twice so they can resell someone else's product

Order placed in December

Order placed in December. When I first reached out, they responded, but shortly after that they went completely silent. No updates, no delivery, and no follow-up despite multiple attempts to contact them.

After months of waiting, I requested a refund. Extremely unprofessional service. Proceed with caution.

No clarification of what "Built and Tuned" means

Could not be more dissatisfied with this company. Here's some insight into the issue they refused to take accountability for. Bought a new flight controller and wanted to use the vtx from the drone I purchased from rotor riot "built and tuned" vision 40 1s avatar. Once I received the flight controller and went to swap the vtx I noticed everything was soldered even the wires where a plug was supposed to be on it originally and I emailed them about it and they said they could do nothing about that becuase its "built and tuned" like they would do it if it was theirs pros or whatever. Ok well went back to the website and nothing said it would alter the original components of the build itself so they are just out here removing things from the original components. They said they wouldn't replace or warranty the vtx. Wich brought me to another ick with this company you take original components wich I'd assume have warranties to them and altar them wich then boids manufacturer warranty and they won't warranty or take accountability so im just SOL do not purchase here communication is horrid accountability is horrid and clarification on what "built and tuned" is on the web page is horrid.
