User-friendly website

The website was great and very user-friendly. Booking the hotels for our trip was made so much easier. The only negative thing we found was the hotel room pictures displayed on the website did not reflect the hotel rooms we stayed in, however this very well could have been an issue with the hotel itself. Apart from that, we have already recommended the website to family and friends who are about to travel and are looking to plan their overseas trip.

We couldn't agree more about the hotel pictures, as hotels far too often take advantage of their pictorial advertising and travelers find that the pictures and the reality do not match up. While it's not possible to prevent this as we cannot check the hotels, who have jurisdiction over which of their pictures are listed, we do compensate for this by offering comprehensive user reviews which often suggest whether or not the hotel represents itself accurately or not. Decent prices through reservations but …

Decent prices through reservations but website had a lot of technical issues that made it difficult to complete reservations. Had to restart serveral times, had problems with saving info and it took me a couple of days to complete reservations due to slow webpage loading, and inability to save.

I hope these glitches are resolved to improve web experience.

We definitely understand how useful this can be, although it is not the focus of our tool, which is for recommending destinations to stay in. However, we do have slideshows underneath the map offered with any location added (even temporarily) to the itinerary which recommend local and nearby day trips and activities! We had a great experience with route …

We had a great experience with route perfect. I loved that we were able to review each of the hotels before booking and change them to better meet our needs. It ended up being way cheaper than booking through a website like Airbnb which was what we had originally planned to do. It was a fast easy process that I would definitely recommend.

Good way to plan the trip

We have used RoutePerfect 4 times and found it to be ideal, we usually need to override the automatic selection option and use manual settings to get the trip the way we want it. We usually never go with all the selected Hotels and look to select another that might have breakfast included or some other preference for location perhaps.
I know that they are always improving the Web site so it does work better each time we have used it. The all important price is hard to beat, we have compared the trip and used other hotel sites, you may find a cheaper option but it never competes with the overall package.

We definitely recommend overriding the automatic hotel & room selections to all of our users as all we currently can control is making sure they have decent user reviews, but the location, board, bedding type, and cancellation policy must be manually inputted by the user as there is no way to predict these. Additionally, filters and a map view are offered to narrow down results based on facility and location preferences, to ensure that the hotel selected is ideal for the client. Very disappointed

I am not sure at this point what the benefit of your site is except to make money off of other people travels. From my experience there is no reason to use Route Perfect site, going straight with Expedia or even and Air BNB would be advised. 2 positive experiences out of 5 hotel experiences isn't acceptable.
I was greatly disappointed In my entire experience with Route Perfect. I had told many travelers about it and how excited I was, only to come back and say it was a terrible decision to use your services.

Soon after I had booked our trip. I sent an email to your support services to ensure that each place we were staying had 2 beds. Robyn sent me back an email saying that the hotels had been contacted and that is was all set up and that I would be sent new vouchers. I I never received new vouchers, and when inquired I was told it wasn't necessary all of the hotels had been notified.
When we arrived at the Cotswolds Spa in Chipping Camden they said they had never been contacted by Route Perfect and that the room had been booked through Expedia. I could have booked the room for Expedia benefited form the bonus and made the appropriate request. My mother and I were forced to stay in the same bed on the bed on the third floor. The room was nice however, I was lied to by Route Perfect about the advocacy that had been done on my behalf.

4. Mapping services
One of the aspects that I was most excited about was the mapping feature on route Perfect. My hope was that this would allow my Mother and I to enjoy the countryside without spending out spending a lot of time in transit. I did choose the public transportation option when planning the trip. Except from London to Shrewsbury and Durham to Edinburgh, neither locations suggested by route perfect was there any direct train routes between our locations.

Other hotel issues
1.Hawkstone Hotel which was the initial point of my inquiry.
The picture portrayed on the website are inside a parka nd no where near the hotel. Unless you have a car you are really trapped, especially after 5 when the park closes.. There were holes in the walls in the hallways. The initial room they but us in was in the middle of the parking lot opening to the outside. Our room was moved. The shower didn't really work, there was very very low water pressure. The paint on the outside of the building is all chipping and looks like it hasn't been touched in years. Although there was one helpful young man the hotel staff were really unexperienced and were unable to answer any questions. These were basic questions: Can you call a taxi for us? Can we check out? Is there any were to eat at 5pm or other things to do in the area? There was at the clubhouse about a 100 feet away but we were not told when asked, about what was near by..
We were not able to stay at this location as it was so different than advertised. We then incurred an additional $130 pound purchase to spend a night in another facility.

2. Durham Marriot
I do have pictures of this hotel after receiving your email with request to pictures. We arrived at this hotel and were placed in a room 2 elevators and a large distance from reception. Once we reached our room it was so hot it could have been a sauna. We realized there was no air conditioning and opened the windows which were over the trash for the entire hotel and a parking lot. We then asked to be moved and this was done. The windows opened even less, only one night did the air conditioning work. The room was lie two rooms put together a seating area and a bedroom area. There was no lights in the seating area. The TV was the only source of light , this was also the way in which one needed to go to access the bathroom. None of the lamps were able to be moved as the plugs were behind large pieces of furniture. The seating area container chairs with large stairs on the cushions. I understand that Britain is not usually warm and so they aren't prepared for multiple warm days. However, at a hotel in an air conditioned room I except to be able to keep the temperature below 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
When we left during the day the air conditioning was turned off and the temperature was well over 80 degrees

We can absolutely understand your disappointment with some of your hotel selections based on the experiences you listed; for example, air conditioning in the summertime in Europe is an absolute necessity. However the vast majority of your complaints in this review have to do with your hotel selections, rather than our services.
Regarding our services, we regret to have to point out that your representation of our mutual correspondence before your trip is far from the truth. In actuality, you built a package and selected rooms with the wrong bedding type for 4 out of 5 of the hotels in your package, and also selected several rooms with nonrefundable policies which as it clearly explains on our site in the Terms of Use, cannot be changed after booking. You then contacted us to make changes for you that were mostly not possible, to which we promptly replied that we would do our best and made all possible changes. We updated you thereafter, listing the hotels which we had been able to successfully amend to Twin bedding, and clearly stating that the remainder of hotels would not guarantee Twin bedding but would provide upon your arrival if it was available. We can provide a verbatim transcript of our correspondence should you require this.
Regarding your hotel selections, it's very important to note that our tool is designed to give users total control over their packages. All relevant information about room types, bedding types, using star ratings and user reviews to your advantage, etc. are available in our FAQ's as well as Terms of Use, but this is as much information as it is possible to offer on hotels ahead of time and as a company we cannot be accountable for all forms of unpleasant experiences. We do take false advertising very seriously, and as such we are currently investigating your hotels which claimed to provide air conditioning but did not, as well as any faulty utilities such as stuck windows and broken lights which jeopardize any traveler's comfort and safety, but which we have not been able to find other complaints of thus far causing the investigation to take more time.
We would like to update you that we have concluded our investigation with the Hawkstone Park hotel and been guaranteed that there is no restricted access to the entrance of the hotel at any time of day or night, by either car or foot, nor any other complaints of this, and as such we must close this case.
Lastly, we hope to have shed some clarity on any miscommunication or misunderstanding that arose from our interaction arising from your amendments request, and would be happy to provide further explanation should the precision of our assistance still not be clear from our previous contact.

RoutePerfect: Great Site for Planning Trips to Europe! 4/5

I haven't actually booked a trip on RoutePerfect yet, but I'm planning one.
This is a great site, with friendly live chat support, loads of information, and lots of recommendations. My only issues with it are: a) there is no iOS app yet, but I've been informed via live chat that one should be launched early next year (2018), after the launch of the new website; and b) if you click 'Edit Trip', edit it, and then save it again, it is saved as a new trip, so you need to delete the old one and rename the new one, however I can see this being helpful to people wanting to save different trips, and it's not much of an issue.
All in all, this is a brilliant site, and I highly recommend it!

We used Route Perfect last year so …

We used Route Perfect last year so decided to use it again this summer. We found it hard to get Route Perfect to reply to our emails. From once we were in contact with them, they were great. We got good advice, hotels at a reasonable price and great locations, very central. We would use Route Perfect again. Also, thanks to Robyn, who was very helpful both this year and last year.
