Kitchen Fitter Review - Speed Magnet 92

As a kitchen fitter I often only got involved in 'splash backs' and the occasional replacement of a single tile as I had a professional tiler carry out any major work. However, after my professional tiler retired, I asked if he could 'show me the ropes' so I could continue.

I had concerns of hiring another tiler as I always thought mine was top notch, so who better to learn from. The first thing I needed was a tile cutter. Apparently, mine was not up to the job. I purchased the Rubi 92 Speed Magnet.

It was a huge step forward for me as the cuts were accurate and clean. I had no real need to 'calibrate' the measuring system and the repetitive cuts system was highly effective. The cuts were all straight, rather than bowed which only helped in tiling.

The magnet system did take a little getting used to (about 20 mins) however, I was 'cooking on gas' after I had gotten used to it.

I often wondered what additional benefits I would be up for in purchasing a higher model, however for the work I do, Think this is sufficient.

If you not a heavy user, I would recommend this product. That is to say I maybe tile 1/2 kitchens in every 5 I install. Although this may now increase as my 'tiling overheads' have lowered.
