Do not sign up with ruby energy !

If you would like your business taken to the verge of bankruptcy, your mental health to severely decline and your life pretty much fall apart sign up to Ruby energy. Debt collectors and gas disconnection team at the door despite never missing a payment , thousands of pounds in direct debits taken from the bank account of a closed seasonal business without notification and a customer service centre in Africa! You can imagine trying to resolve things. If minus stars where available we would give them..

gas price increase

Questioned a gas price increase following an email. Was informed there was no increase on our account & that the increase was for electricity only. Ruby are not our electricity supplier & the email definitely says gas price increase. Not happy with advisers response & not confident that we will not be getting a price increase

Terrible service and mislead by sales executive. Tied in for 5 years with annual reviews, which increase out of line with the markets.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear how disappointing this increase feels, and we do understand the concern, particularly for businesses managing tight margins.

The change you’ve highlighted is primarily driven by an increase in Transmission Network Use of System (TNUoS) charges. These are regulated costs set at a national level and applied to all suppliers across the market. They relate to the cost of maintaining and operating the high-voltage electricity transmission network, and unfortunately have risen significantly for the upcoming charging year.

Because standing charges are used to recover these fixed, non-commodity costs, increases in TNUoS are reflected directly in that element of your bill rather than unit rates. This can sometimes make the change appear disproportionate, even though it reflects underlying industry costs rather than supplier margin.

We appreciate that this isn’t always clear, and we’re working to improve how we explain these changes so customers can better understand what’s driving them. Should you wish to see a full breakdown of all industry costs associated with your supply, please do get in touch with the team.
