We had a side window in our truck broken by a rock while traveling to a horse show. The good thing was that there was a Safelite dealer near by and we could get an appointment in just a couple of days... See more

They stood me up twice. Both times, they sent me emails about my upcoming appointment. The day of the appointment, they sent me an email telling me who the technician would be, and both times, nobody showed up. You know the saying, fool me once . . .
There will not be a third time.

Was scheduled with Safelite from my insurance company. Tech showed up and said he could do it all including recalibration. While removing my damaged windshield he cut into the upper body of my truck when he didn’t use the tool correctly. Had to take to a body shop to have repaired, and then they installed the new windshield. Then they could not get the windshield camera recalibrated, so I had to take it to the dealer to get it done. They washed their hands of the issues and were pretty useless throughout this process. This is a total scam business.

The technician installed my windshield and broke my rear view mirror plastic. Then later when my wife drove my car she adjusted the mirror and the mirror clips were not tightened properly and the mirror fell off easily . This was all due to the installation. The installer later came out to fix it and he said they have problems with the clips and he just needed to bend them over. I asked for Safelite to cover fixing my mirror and plastic covers they broke and they said they would not cover it. The manager lied and said the mirror was already broken and he said he sent me a pre inspection photo which was actually a photo after the technician reinstalled the mirror. The photo was right before the email came in about recalibration was starting. I asked the manager to send me all his photos and refused to send me anymore than the 2 he sent me. I called to have his regional manager call me and they never called me back. I do not recommend Safelite.

Terribly disappointing experience with Safelite from start to finish. I initially brought my SUV in on Monday for what was supposed to be a simple windshield crack repair, as directed by my insurance company with a $0 deductible. Within minutes, I was told that while attempting the repair, the crack spread further and the windshield now needed to be fully replaced resulting in a $500 deductible for me. While I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, the situation immediately felt questionable.
After waiting for the replacement windshield to arrive, I returned yesterday to have it installed. When I came to pick up my vehicle, my husband immediately noticed damage on the top of the SUV that was not there beforehand. The original crack was located on the lower left side near the VIN number, nowhere near the damaged area. The night before the appointment, my husband, a friend, and her husband had all closely examined the windshield while I was sharing the situation with them, so we are absolutely certain the damage did not exist prior to service.
At first, my husband thought the mark might simply be adhesive residue from the repair, but after rubbing it, it became clear the vehicle had been scuffed/damaged. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of accountability from the staff. One employee mentioned he had taken a video of the scuff, but by that point the damage had already occurred. Rather than addressing the issue professionally, the interaction felt dismissive and defensive.
I am extremely disappointed with how this entire situation was handled and will not be using Safelite again. I strongly encourage anyone bringing their vehicle in for service to thoroughly photograph and video their car beforehand to protect themselves in case damage occurs during the repair process.

My technician was awesome! I had a schedule window of 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday. My technician Felix called me at about 2:30 to let me know that he had to manually calibrate the job he was currently working on and he should be at my house by 4:30. He just called to give me a heads up. Then I received a message from him when he was on his way and then he also messaged me when he got here. He did a great job! Very friendly, experience and professional. Safelite will always be my first choice. Thanks to great service and consideration and professionalism provided by the tech that service my vehicle, Felix. Thank you.

I had my rear glass for my brand new 2025 Nissan Rogue. They left glass in my lift gate and glass sticking out from the rears light. That's not the worst. They cracked my panel and water pours through to my cargo area. They were all good about fixing it until they were told how much it would cost. I need a new lift gate. So they just said we didn't do it. No one touched my 6 mth old car but Safelite there was no damage to the outer interior or the inner interior panel.
I DO NOT SUGGEST SAFELITE GLASS TO ANYONE. I wish I checked the reviews before I called them for service. Ratings of 1.6 would have deterred me.

Safelite auto glass uses bate and switch when you get an appointment on line.
I got a charge of $285.54 which I paid by credit card. In a little while I got an email saying I owed another $75.00.
Tried to call the Manchester CT Safelite but could not talk to a person as the system did not allow that. I called the corporate office. They tried to call the Manchester CT branch and were not able to through so they sent an email to the manager there to call me asap. I got a call about 45 minutes later.
The person I spoke to said that the first charge did not include the glass recycling fee or the taxes. I told her it did. She said that the system does not add those charges. I said I took a picture of the charge on line before I closed the browser. She then said they would reimburse me the $75. The original cost of the windshield was $274.00, the charge of the windshield was for $374. That’s why I say this is a bate and switch.
I did get the windshield for the original price, but we should not have to fight for the correct pricing.
The installer was a nice young man, he did a good job.
What good is their answer. It doesn’t address the issue of charging you a different price at checkout from the email with what they now say is the higher price.
Still bate and switch.

Small crack in my windshield. Had them repair it. Cracks started again in 2 days. Called and they said they don’t re-repair. Have to take it in and get a new windshield with a credit for cost of first repair.

After three times of having to deal with Safelite, the first being they installed my windshield wrong on my 21 hellcat redeye and destroyed my stripes and had to pay out-of-pocket for them to retype my car and put in another windshield that they tried to have my 14-year-old health install at my house then they replace my Tesla windshield and I had to bring the guy back his tools and they lost track of my fast track transponder, which I Later found under a back floor mat. Then this time they just decided not to show up for the appointment to fix the window never ever use Safelite unless you like being angry.

Was given a 5 hour window on Saturday 4/25. Tech never showed up, no one called, no text messages. Called back on 4/27. Was told tach would;d show up on Tuesday, 4/28 - same 5 hour window. No one showed up, again no text, no phone call. There is more, I was told they cannot calibrate car warning system at home and I would have drive to store (Safelite ads all say they can calibrate at customer premises). I believe this was the Glens Falls, NY location. I gave up and called a locally owned company and the new windshield was installed and cameras calibrated. By the way, at the same locally owned place a man drove all the way fro Glens Falls to the family owned company saying that eh would never deal with Safelite Glens Falls.

Check around first, especially if you have a newer car. Safelite DESTROYED my new Ford Bronco. They sent out a new tech to work on a vehicle he had never worked on. Scratched the frame around the window, got permanent adhesive on the paint, scratched molding and trim and the windshield didn’t even fit in the end.
I have no idea how I’m going to get this taken care of properly. Safelite won’t return my calls. Supposedly an escalation team is supposed to help but no one is calling.
So far the estimates to repair are nearing $5,000 in addition to still needing a new windshield. I’d say I’m very angry but that doesn’t begin to describe how I feel right now.
06/11/2026 UPDATE:
Safelite verbally tells me they will cover the damage but they won’t put it in writing. I don’t know about you but I don’t just trust a corporation will pay for the damage just by one of their employees saying so. Michael Allie said I was a whiny difficult person and could deal with corporate. Corporate has not called me back yet. Windshield leaks, damage still not taken care of. Safelite lies. Lawsuit is next.

I will start by saying I did not use Safelite. Every time I see their ad touting their "my way" service I get aggravated. My insurance company connected me directly to a safelite referral service. They said I could use any ompany but recommended a safelite location about 10 miles away. They stressed i could use any local company but they may not be equipped to deal with my cameras which I would then be responsible for. Despite their insistence my cameras were not part of my windshield. I did call Safelite where not only did "my way" not exist, I was told I would need to drop my car off for the day. They did not offer appts where i could bring my car and wait.. This was even after I explained I did not have a ride. I used another local company who came out on time for our appointment and did a great job. Took about 20 minutes.

Unacceptable. The installer Rob was great - but at nearing the end of the appointment he said he is unable to update the safety systems and the ones related to the windshield are now disabled. That we will have to reschedule, he is sorry and will not be charging my card until this is complete. That was all fine. Except 3 hours later I got an email from Safelite saying everything is all done, my card has been charged and here is the warranty information. I immediately engaged in a live chat text message thread where they admit they need to reschedule to program it and cannot do anything about the billing. I have the option of bringing my car to their shop (45 minutes away) or wait more than 1 week for the mobile service. They refuse to pause any part of the $980 charge, saying "they will be doing the $375 programming". BAD BUSINESS. Don't tell me that I won't be charged until the job is complete and then charge me. The chat person suggested I call customer service, so I did. The very nice lady I spoke with told me the job hasn't been invoiced, I have not been billed and they show no install / appointment rescheduled. They declined to receive a copy of the email I offered to forward, and they didn't want to see my card charge. They did ask me to hold so they could contact the shop who did my service - but after 5 minutes on hold they told me they cannot reach the local shop and I will be called tomorrow (May 5). I am writing this review on May 7, having heard nothing back from anyone. I have used Safelite many times in the past, I will not be using them in the future. Now I have another week of driving the car with warning lights about the disabled features. If there is any further trouble with them I will dispute the charge with my card. Sad to have to post this review but since this is how my business is valued, a caution to all. **Update: a day after posting this review Safelite replies to the review. Let's be clear - the overall price is not my complaint here. It is the fact the service has not been completed AND that I was told I would not be billed until it was AND the fact that when I was prematurely billed I asked questions that nobody has answered. THIS is why I wrote this review and will not be using others for my future business.

Excellent work done by Richard in Palmdale yesterday the 5th. He installed a new windshield on 1500 Ram. Completed the job in about an hour or less. Great service and professionalism. Have already recommended to others. BTW. their price beat the local competition by a Bunch.

BELOW ZERO STAR , Run from WENDI ISEFUKU store manager ( store # 5913) i went to store located on 16422 S. Avalon blvd Gardena , CA 90248 i had appointment i was told windshield replacement will take 3 hours , Wendi was so hostile and intimidated towards me, i feel discriminated , so don't go there if you are not one of them, Wendi isefuku was literally threatening me saying you want to do this or not, then wendi told me to leave. wendi was holding big size heavy phone about 9 inch in her left hand ready to throw on my face use as a weapon, very aggressive, verbally abusive fighting stance, this all happen with in 1-3 minutes while i enter into the store , wendi was all ready prepare to attack as buffalo with horn waiting for you,WENDI ISEFUKU said she is the owner she can do whatever she want , i don't know that satellite is wendi,s private owned property. Wendi was leaning behind me inches away (sneaking behind me so you can't see her) while i pulled my car in front of the store, when i asked her why she is hiding behind me, wendi start laughing. After scolding me for that long wendi kick me out of the store refused to give me the service even mechanic was standing by the desk ready to work on the order. i drove 2 hours back and forth and was ready to spend about $500 still i got treated racially, so don't waste your time and money, Wendi said even if you file a complaint no one will do anything because she is the store manager. i am floored.
1 star is too generous, this company is an absolute scam. my biggest regret is not reading the overwhelming similar reviews. the only reason i chose this company was the convenience factor as my schedule makes it hard to get to a shop during reg. business hours.
i had a tiny chip in my windshield smaller than a pea. i decided to be proactive and just get the chip filled. it OBVIOUSLY did not warrant a windshield replacement, and any semi decent, legit glass technician would easily be able to fix this very minor repair. i would have been better off using clear nail varnish to fill. safelite took $200+ from me and sent a intoxicated man to my house. he was shifty and jittery. i should have realized at the time he was under the influence but i figured maybe he was just odd. at this point the creepy man was at my house and i didn’t feel safe to stand up for myself. he proceeded to bash my windshield with a hammer and left, charging me the full amount of the service. i now have a spidering crack (after photo taken immediately after) and will need my windshield replaced. well don’t worry, i got their “life time warranty” where they promised to make it right if i wasn’t happy. i’m not happy, but nothing is right about this. i would be better off just leaving the chip in my windshield! the intoxicated man said if i wasn’t happy, to call and get my money back. i called over the weekend and got a temporary worker who gave me a fake phone number of the shop. it is literally out of service and goes straight to a dial tone. they admitted fault, calling it a “failed repair” and told me to call the fake number to get my money back. it’s only fair; why would i continue to do business with them after such a horrendous experience and then reading others with a similar issue. finally i had to call back again, this time on a weekday where i discussed this issue. they brought on a legal team member to read off all the fine print in the service agreement and claimed they weren’t liable for damages because i agreed to service. Every service company has a disclaimer and i understand that, but this is beyond crooked and messed up. they are basically tricking people into overlooking hundreds of pages of bullsht legal jargon, charging for the service then destroying their vehicles and blaming the clients for not accepting the disclaimer. of course, every service has the potential go wrong but they advised the only option was for me to pay them HUNDREDs more dollar to replace the windshield. mind you, they couldn’t handle a simple chip repair. a lot of people who had replacements have had nothing but issues. why would i continue to do business with this scam company. they purposely give out fake phone numbers and even have a canned response to my (and all the other) bad reviews saying “mistakes happen, you’re welcome to pay us more money to keep causing issues on your car”. i realize that. this business is a scam, their employees are tweeking on the job, they send them to peoples houses, they can’t handle the most simpliest of tasks. i want my money back, i want my windshield to go back to just having the small original chip so i can take the time to go to a legitimate business. i’m sorry that i trusted them to do their job, is it that hard when you fail at your job to refund. it’s simply unfair. train your technicians, drug test and you won’t have to give out refunds for faulty business. no other small glass business would get away with this, it’s clearly a shell company for money laundering and scamming innocent people who think they are getting repairs. i’d be happy to submit my photos as well. i can’t give them enough bad reviews, it’s the only sense of fairness i have now. i’ll continue to drag them online. and your canned, pre written excuse responses do nothing !

We were quoted $394.63, they canceled my appointment the day before. They emailed me and told me to reschedule, then the price was $987.41 EVERY detail of my vehicle including year, make, model and VIN.. how can your quote be so WRONG. This business and their billing tactics should be investigated. I paid the first price of $394.63 in full. Just to find out they were going to be more than double it. So I canceled and got an honest quote from another auto glass service. If I could give them zero stars, I would!

You cannot get anyone on the phone. Their appointment scheduling time is very long. I had to schedule two appointments and both times the technicians couldn’t do the job. The second time they took the down payment and now no one picks up the phone. I DO NOT recommend this business.

Can't keep an appointment and can't communicate properly. Corporate was not helpful when I sought assistance multiple times. Lots of sincerity, zero follow through.
