False advertising...
I will start by saying I did not use Safelite. Every time I see their ad touting their "my way" service I get aggravated. My insurance company connected me directly to a safelite referral service. They said I could use any ompany but recommended a safelite location about 10 miles away. They stressed i could use any local company but they may not be equipped to deal with my cameras which I would then be responsible for. Despite their insistence my cameras were not part of my windshield. I did call Safelite where not only did "my way" not exist, I was told I would need to drop my car off for the day. They did not offer appts where i could bring my car and wait.. This was even after I explained I did not have a ride. I used another local company who came out on time for our appointment and did a great job. Took about 20 minutes.

Customer service is lacking, deceitful billing
Unacceptable. The installer Rob was great - but at nearing the end of the appointment he said he is unable to update the safety systems and the ones related to the windshield are now disabled. That we will have to reschedule, he is sorry and will not be charging my card until this is complete. That was all fine. Except 3 hours later I got an email from Safelite saying everything is all done, my card has been charged and here is the warranty information. I immediately engaged in a live chat text message thread where they admit they need to reschedule to program it and cannot do anything about the billing. I have the option of bringing my car to their shop (45 minutes away) or wait more than 1 week for the mobile service. They refuse to pause any part of the $980 charge, saying "they will be doing the $375 programming". BAD BUSINESS. Don't tell me that I won't be charged until the job is complete and then charge me. The chat person suggested I call customer service, so I did. The very nice lady I spoke with told me the job hasn't been invoiced, I have not been billed and they show no install / appointment rescheduled. They declined to receive a copy of the email I offered to forward, and they didn't want to see my card charge. They did ask me to hold so they could contact the shop who did my service - but after 5 minutes on hold they told me they cannot reach the local shop and I will be called tomorrow (May 5). I am writing this review on May 7, having heard nothing back from anyone. I have used Safelite many times in the past, I will not be using them in the future. Now I have another week of driving the car with warning lights about the disabled features. If there is any further trouble with them I will dispute the charge with my card. Sad to have to post this review but since this is how my business is valued, a caution to all. **Update: a day after posting this review Safelite replies to the review. Let's be clear - the overall price is not my complaint here. It is the fact the service has not been completed AND that I was told I would not be billed until it was AND the fact that when I was prematurely billed I asked questions that nobody has answered. THIS is why I wrote this review and will not be using others for my future business.

RUN FROM WENDI ISEFUKU STORE MANAGER
BELOW ZERO STAR , Run from WENDI ISEFUKU store manager ( store # 5913) i went to store located on 16422 S. Avalon blvd Gardena , CA 90248 i had appointment i was told windshield replacement will take 3 hours , Wendi was so hostile and intimidated towards me, i feel discriminated , so don't go there if you are not one of them, Wendi isefuku was literally threatening me saying you want to do this or not, then wendi told me to leave. wendi was holding big size heavy phone about 9 inch in her left hand ready to throw on my face use as a weapon, very aggressive, verbally abusive fighting stance, this all happen with in 1-3 minutes while i enter into the store , wendi was all ready prepare to attack as buffalo with horn waiting for you,WENDI ISEFUKU said she is the owner she can do whatever she want , i don't know that satellite is wendi,s private owned property. Wendi was leaning behind me inches away (sneaking behind me so you can't see her) while i pulled my car in front of the store, when i asked her why she is hiding behind me, wendi start laughing. After scolding me for that long wendi kick me out of the store refused to give me the service even mechanic was standing by the desk ready to work on the order. i drove 2 hours back and forth and was ready to spend about $500 still i got treated racially, so don't waste your time and money, Wendi said even if you file a complaint no one will do anything because she is the store manager. i am floored.
this company is a scam and should not be in business
1 star is too generous, this company is an absolute scam. my biggest regret is not reading the overwhelming similar reviews. the only reason i chose this company was the convenience factor as my schedule makes it hard to get to a shop during reg. business hours.
i had a tiny chip in my windshield smaller than a pea. i decided to be proactive and just get the chip filled. it OBVIOUSLY did not warrant a windshield replacement, and any semi decent, legit glass technician would easily be able to fix this very minor repair. i would have been better off using clear nail varnish to fill. safelite took $200+ from me and sent a intoxicated man to my house. he was shifty and jittery. i should have realized at the time he was under the influence but i figured maybe he was just odd. at this point the creepy man was at my house and i didn’t feel safe to stand up for myself. he proceeded to bash my windshield with a hammer and left, charging me the full amount of the service. i now have a spidering crack (after photo taken immediately after) and will need my windshield replaced. well don’t worry, i got their “life time warranty” where they promised to make it right if i wasn’t happy. i’m not happy, but nothing is right about this. i would be better off just leaving the chip in my windshield! the intoxicated man said if i wasn’t happy, to call and get my money back. i called over the weekend and got a temporary worker who gave me a fake phone number of the shop. it is literally out of service and goes straight to a dial tone. they admitted fault, calling it a “failed repair” and told me to call the fake number to get my money back. it’s only fair; why would i continue to do business with them after such a horrendous experience and then reading others with a similar issue. finally i had to call back again, this time on a weekday where i discussed this issue. they brought on a legal team member to read off all the fine print in the service agreement and claimed they weren’t liable for damages because i agreed to service. Every service company has a disclaimer and i understand that, but this is beyond crooked and messed up. they are basically tricking people into overlooking hundreds of pages of bullsht legal jargon, charging for the service then destroying their vehicles and blaming the clients for not accepting the disclaimer. of course, every service has the potential go wrong but they advised the only option was for me to pay them HUNDREDs more dollar to replace the windshield. mind you, they couldn’t handle a simple chip repair. a lot of people who had replacements have had nothing but issues. why would i continue to do business with this scam company. they purposely give out fake phone numbers and even have a canned response to my (and all the other) bad reviews saying “mistakes happen, you’re welcome to pay us more money to keep causing issues on your car”. i realize that. this business is a scam, their employees are tweeking on the job, they send them to peoples houses, they can’t handle the most simpliest of tasks. i want my money back, i want my windshield to go back to just having the small original chip so i can take the time to go to a legitimate business. i’m sorry that i trusted them to do their job, is it that hard when you fail at your job to refund. it’s simply unfair. train your technicians, drug test and you won’t have to give out refunds for faulty business. no other small glass business would get away with this, it’s clearly a shell company for money laundering and scamming innocent people who think they are getting repairs. i’d be happy to submit my photos as well. i can’t give them enough bad reviews, it’s the only sense of fairness i have now. i’ll continue to drag them online. and your canned, pre written excuse responses do nothing !

We were quoted $394.63
We were quoted $394.63, they canceled my appointment the day before. They emailed me and told me to reschedule, then the price was $987.41 EVERY detail of my vehicle including year, make, model and VIN.. how can your quote be so WRONG. This business and their billing tactics should be investigated. I paid the first price of $394.63 in full. Just to find out they were going to be more than double it. So I canceled and got an honest quote from another auto glass service. If I could give them zero stars, I would!

You cannot get anyone on the phone
You cannot get anyone on the phone. Their appointment scheduling time is very long. I had to schedule two appointments and both times the technicians couldn’t do the job. The second time they took the down payment and now no one picks up the phone. I DO NOT recommend this business.

Can't keep an appointment and can't communicate properly. Corporate was not helpful when I sought assistance multiple times. Lots of sincerity, zero follow through.

Windshield was replaced but two technicians have been unable to complete the necessary calibration. I have called more than 10 times to have this resolved. I'm told someone will call me back and no one ever does. The Riverhead LI shop that is responsible for completing the calibration does not even pick up the phone.

I recently contacted them using their customer service phone number it took me three different calls almost 15 minutes to try to get a person. No matter what I asked for the machine kept trying to answer questions I wasn't asking and it kept hanging up on me. Totally ridiculous it should never be so hard to try to speak to a human being. On the other hand when I finally did get them on the phone they were fantastic and replacing the windshields they do a great job. But there telephone automated service is absolutely terrible.
Not the results I expected
Scheduled a visit for a simple chip in my windshield leaving my truck at home with my spouse while I went to work. I was relieved when she told me the technician said he had fixed it, that was short lived when I got home and noticed no change at all meaning all cracks still present and still able to feel a chip on the exterior of the window. Notified Safelite and they were able to quickly get another appointment. Thought things would be taken care of but to my suprise it was the same technician they sent the first time. He just kept stating it appears sealed. I stated i would like another technician, he agreed and said he would talk to his manager. I would give zero stars if it wasn't for the technician acting polite and professional through the entire process. Thats my experience with Safelite so far.

Extremely Dissapointed
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in the service I received at Safelite Autoglass at 526 Anacapa in Santa Barbara CA.
The windshield installation was poorly handled—the installer failed to clean out old sealant, leaving the installation unnecessarily messy, and also failed to re-install the rearview mirror - then questioned whether I even needed a mirror.
I regret paying the bill before inspecting the work. No one in the store expressed any interest in customer service
I had to have another shop properly install the mirror and only looked for their reviews after the service. I discovered that their 1.4 star rating is well deserved. I’m not sure how low it needs to go before they run out of business - but the sooner the better!
I strongly recommend others to avoid this company.

i wasted 4 days waiting to be canceled
i wasted 4 days waiting for an appointment that was not easy to get... the Call Service(Not A Safelite person!) First said they couldn't obtain a windshield for my 1993 Toyota Corolla, so the appointment i struggled to get was now Canceled the day before i was to come in...
THEN the Story changed to "Safelite doesn't work on vehicles older than 30 years."..
One quick call to Collision Auto Glass in Portland, Oregon had me scheduled for The Next Day, at a time of day i wanted... I will never use Safelite in the future.

I had scheduled to have my windshield…
I had scheduled to have my windshield replaced but unfortunately, they do not come to my area. So, I made arrangements to drop my car of at my mother and borrow hers so I could go to work. Well, they had called that day to let me know that they would not be coming out. They said that my glass had not been delivered prior to my appointment date. I had to reschedule and again make arrangements. It was very inconvenient trying to arrange times and adjust childcare options so I could still work. Everything was set and done. I get a call about an hour before the end of the time arrangements to let me know they are not able to make it again. Apparently, they only have 1 person who comes to change glass even though they are known for coming to costumers' areas. I was very displeased as it was hard for me being a single parent to not only once but twice try to get this done at THEIR specific areas. I will never use them again!!

Look elsewhere if you want the job done.
Setup an appointment for 03/13/2026 but they had to overbooked and had to reschedule me. Rescheduled for 12:00 to 5:00 PM on 03/17/2026, they were a no show leaving me doing nothing for the day. I did call the number back they left me in case I had any questions, it wasn't answered either time I called. They only have high reviews on their site, every other site gives them poor reviews, should have done the research before all of this.
Received two automated responses from safelite, neither any help, just wanting me to try them a third time. Went to another company within 5 miles, they setup a time and replaced the windshield for about 27% less than safelite (if safelite would keep an appointment).

Safelite return, Safelite repeat
For what should have been a simple windshield replacement took SIX visits to remedy. Long story summarised as:
- incompetent admin staff at the local office who didn't order parts or book the correct appointment
- a central office which ineffectively handled my request resulting in another wasted visit
- an ineffective warehouse which incorrectly labelled a part in their system so the wrong part was sent out
- a cold, cheaply furnished waiting area with no comfy chairs at all
The only upsides were
- the local manager who stepped up and took responsibility for the error on the fourth visit to the office and who organised the eventual replacement on site at my husband's work, and
- the two technicians who came to site and did their jobs well
This company needs an overhaul.

I’m very disappointed with this…
I’m very disappointed with this experience. After the crack on my windshield, the company insisted I had to pay for an expensive static calibration in the shop, costing over $800. What they did not clearly explain is that many vehicles can complete a dynamic calibration simply by being driven under the right conditions.
The dynamic calibration method is straightforward: drive on a straight, clearly marked road with visible lane lines, maintain about 35 to 56 mph, keep the vehicle steady for around 3 to 5 minutes, and the process completes when the camera indicator changes from amber to green.
Instead of giving me that option, they pushed the costly in-shop calibration method using target boards and lasers. Meanwhile, another company replaced the windshield for only $270 and advised me to just drive the truck so it could self-calibrate.
I feel like this company forced an unnecessary service on me and charged an outrageous amount for it. I would not recommend them based on my experience.

Terrible experience with Safelite
Had a windshield claim with my insurance company and they scheduled an appointment for me with Safelite. I have no idea why they would use or schedule with this company because I will never use them again or refer them to anyone that I know. The technician was very nice but tore both of our hood cowls during the removal process. When I scheduled an appointment for a Warranty Inspection I was told that "clearly rodents chewed on the hood cowls". Unless the technician brought his pet rat to work that day, rodents did not chew up the hood cowls. The damage happened during the 2 hour replacement appointment. Perhaps it was the Oscillating tool that he used on both sides of the vehicle when the hood was up. My home camera footage would certainly suggest so. Now they have to confer with the Manager, who was conveniently not there during my Warranty Inspection. They said they will get back to me......I'll hold my breath. -- Spring Hill, FL. location
Absolute failure of a company
Update April 27, 2026: The "sorry for your experience" obligatory blase' apology over 1 month later, due only to my review and not b/c my daughter was owed one a month ago, puts a microscope on the title of this review: Failure of a company. I spoke to a number of cust svc reps at the main number, a check was begrudgingly cut from corporate 2 weeks later, and nobody at corporate knows anything about this incident? They must be too busy putting fires out all over the US. This review rec'd a quicker reply than the entire 3 weeks it took to get her money back. Failure. Failure. Failure.
March, 2026, Azalea Park, Florida location (Orlando area). Safelite must be taught a big financial lesson, because ethics has long left the building. Thieves. Mobile appt for my 25 y.o. daughter. Whether the crack ended up being filled or the windshield was replaced, it should have been fully paid by insurance. The tech double talked and confused her, "filled" the crack but fixed nothing b/c it was 100% still there when he was "done", she then got nervous being there with this guy and his double talk buffoonery and wanted the appt to end, he then "gave her a discount", told her to cancel her appt so he could apply it, (so he could easily continue the fraud) and had her send $80 to his personal Venmo. Fraud. Liar. SafeLite got involved but ended up a complete failure of a company, the failure thief manager got involved who was clearly *clearly* complicit...which I said to him... b/c he hoped I'd go away after he never got back to me. Nope, I went nowhere until she got her stolen $80 back. Safelite never tried to make things right by supplying what she needed in the first place, not *one* apology from any subpar employee that I spoke to...no new windshield...and only begrudgingly refunded her fraudulently obtained $80 3 weeks later because I didn't let up. Patronize the small businesses folks...there's other choices...Safelite needs to be out more than $80. Trash company. I've told dozens of people who will also tell dozens. They treat customers like trash and this is the result.
