Honestly Salad is really cool and fun to get going! Although the original intent was to utilize idle gaming hardware. I setup a CPU cluster made up of old corporate PCs. CPU work doesn't pay as much as GPU work, but I'm earning $16.50 per month after electricity ($20 redemption). It's honestly really cool having a mini data center in my closet! I honestly believe Salad should advertise distributed compute more. To me, my apartment already exists and I don't mind having these nodes running 24/7. No need to build giant data centers and destroy land. I think if we really need all of this compute power, we should be doing more of this! I will say I think Salad should increase their customer prices so they can have higher payouts to us Chef's to help combat the rising energy costs, but I do understand it's all supply and demand. If you have a high idle wattage PC, this probably isn't for you, but if you have a good graphics card (3070+) or efficient CPU rigs (like I do). Then you should absolutely give Salad a try!

Don't just quit after a week. Study the data for 1 month then analyze. Hourly numbers aren't the entire story! I've gotten so many different types of CPU jobs. So far I've identified and recorded 7 different types that all pay different rates and use different amounts of electricity! At the end of one month, run the math and see if you broke even, are net positive, or net negative.

Easy way to make some side money. Great platform.

Salad provides steady earnings above the cost of Electricity. With Salad, I have the ability to redeem earnings in cash without the hassle of trading depreciating crypto tokens. Except for frequent updates in Salad or Windows this is quite the "Set it and Forget it" operation. Thank You Salad!

I'm using Salad for almost a year and I love it!

I’ve been running Salad on my setup for a while now, and it has easily become my favorite passive compute platform.

The transition toward enterprise AI and container workloads makes a huge difference compared to older mining setups. Getting assigned real AI inference tasks pays noticeably better rates and keeps the hardware consistently utilized without running thermal limits into the ground.

The platform is completely hands-off once configured—it spins up isolated container environments cleanly, tracks earnings transparently, and doesn't get in the way when the machine is needed.

Payouts and redemption options are fast, predictable, and simple to navigate.

If you have a modern GPU with decent VRAM sitting idle while you work or sleep, Salad is genuinely worth running.

This has been extremely easy to use, and has been a great way to make some side cash. Salad has been great with communication and very friendly and open about rates and support. Cashing out is easy and I 100% recommend. That's a lot from someone who doesn't trust most companies. They seem to hold themselves to a higher standard and if there are job openings I may just apply to work for them.
