Salt is one the worst business partners I dealt with. Their interface to manage one's account is very bad – it's the most complicated subscription to pay. They try to rip you off as much as they can with 2-years-contracts that you can only renew within a window of a few months. Moreover, you cannot terminate your contract online, but only by phone which makes you wait for a long time. Their French speaking employees in the call-centers (from outside in Switzerland) are very unfriendly on the phone. A company with such bad customer services and that expensive would never survive on a market with true competition :)

On 29 May I purchased a travel pack for 365 days which was for 3gb of data for 365 days with no calls and the cost was 39.95. Ridiculous but what can you do. There were no packs for 1 week or 1 month available. I left Switzerland on 29 May. Until 1 June my additional data pack registered correctly. Salt changed that on 1 June to a 2gb data and 60 minutes call for 365 days in South Africa only (not travel zone) and added an additional 10CHF. This is typically Salt, but appalling, even for them. Now there are packs for 1 week and I would have chosen that if I had the choice. They changed their packs on 1 June and unilaterally assigned me one I did not order.

I wish I knew how useless they are, also online and in store. I wish I could read all the reviews here before. They dont solve any problem. I was in Swisscom and I said okey lets try Salt but I cannot wait until my contract with those useless idiots finish. Don’t ever buy any offer or something from this company

Permanently moved out of Switzerland. I was charged to cancel the contract (ok) and told that I would receive the final bill at some point. I quickly replied to inform them to email the invoice to me, because (1) I’d lost access to their online portal, (2) the bank account where I received the eBill got closed.
A month later I receive the bill by mail with a surcharge because I failed to paid the final invoice. The one I never received. When I contacted them by phone, I was recommended to write this up by email, my request being to cancel the surcharge, because I had not received the invoice: I did not disagree with the severance fee.
I received another letter with the reminder to pay invoice and surcharge.
Not going to call again, I’m tired of incompetence.

I understood that I could cancel my contract if I were to leave Switzerland mid contract - but that was not possible so I had to carry on paying for a Swiss mobile contract when I lived abroad for more than a year.

don't go with salt, it's kind of shit. honestly I wouldn't recomend it
After years of being their client, they started severely throttling roaming after 5GB. When I say "severely", I mean data rates so low I couldn't even use Whatsapp. When I confronted them about it, they tried to gaslight me by pretending that it was official policy since COVID. But it wasn't. I travel extensively as a videographer and routinely would go over the 5GB cutoff. Furthermore, my contracts never mentioned any provision of such a policy.
After changing providers, they sent me a bogus CHF 700 early termination bill too.
All-in-all a horrible experience. It's a company run by greedy snakes hell-bent on enshittification.
Terrible company!!! poor network coverage and will slam you with high monthly bill if you don’t cancel your contract in time. No warning to what you will pay when your special offer ends. No warning that you need to end your contract in 60 days. It is probably somewhere in the contract but unfortunately people forget after two years. With terrible tactics like this no one will ever recommend them to a friend.
Go with Wingo for a phone subscription
Really bad coverage network for mobile.
Block and censure left politic web sites, even when there is no official state demand! This is even not legal.

I am writing this review to report an incorrect charge of CHF 26.85 on my Salt invoice, which I have been trying to resolve with customer service without success. At the time of the calls in question, I was physically located in France (Gaillard). My mobile subscription includes 100 minutes of calls, and I am certain that I did not exceed this allowance. Despite this, I was charged for these calls as if they were not included in my plan. Salt’s explanation is that the calls were allegedly made via Wi-Fi. This is simply not true.
I have taken the time to document everything very carefully, as this is not the first time I have experienced billing issues. I have the following evidence:
* Timestamped and geolocated photos showing that I was in France at the exact time the calls were made
* Screenshots confirming that Wi-Fi calling was disabled on my phone
* Proof that my device was connected to the mobile network (5G), not to any Wi-Fi network
* Full consistency between the timestamps of my photos and the call times listed on my invoice
In other words, there is clear and verifiable evidence that these calls were made under normal mobile network conditions and should have been included in my subscription.
What is particularly frustrating is that Salt has not provided any technical evidence on their side (such as network logs or routing data) to support their claim. Instead, they simply repeated that the calls were made via Wi-Fi without justification.
I was offered a partial refund as a “commercial gesture,” which I refused, as the issue is not about a goodwill gesture but about an incorrect charge.
The most disappointing part is the lack of accountability and the decision to close my case without properly addressing the facts or reviewing the evidence provided.
As a customer, I expect accurate billing and a fair investigation when an issue is clearly documented.
I hope this review will encourage Salt to take this matter seriously and resolve it properly.

When I first moved to Basel, I became a Salt user without consulting anyone, and I deeply regret it. I deeply regret it! It was a mistake in every way. I don't recommend it to anyone.
It is such a bad network I cannot even start to explain. Please just go somewhere else

Terrible customer service. I made payment with credit card , Salt claimed they did not get the payment, payment appeared in credit card statement shared with them, but they charged me a reminder fee. For the last 2 months I keep asking refund via email, but they reply about something completely different (such as my latest bill information, latest received payment etc.)

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
Even if you have to pay more at another provider. This is really the absolut worst customer experience and service you can possibly imagine. It is such a scam, unbelievable. And 5k other people seem to feel the same.

Normally i want to give them under 0, not 1 star.
They are charging CHF 30 for one bill that can not provide you in the Salt app for home internet, telling me that they are 2 different things: Mobile and Home, even if both of them are Salt. They can’t sent Home directly in e-bill, so they are sending me on my email address a bill in a strange format, not PDF and it’s impossible for me to see that bill. Actually how can a normal person can pay this damn bill?! They are the worse administration ever in the payment system.

20 months left in the prison called Salt. Their billing creativity is fantastic : 6 sms billed whereas my phone shows only one. SMALL PROFIT IS STILL PROFIT...
I am very happy with my Salt mobile subscription. Professional advice in the store and my phone always works. Did I mention the very competitive pricing? ;)

Dear Salt Customer Service Team,
I am writing to share my experience with Salt’s services. While I appreciate the services offered, I have faced several issues that need attention. I have found it extremely difficult to reach customer support, and every interaction I have had has been useless, never resolving any of my problems. I have also experienced unexpected charges and difficulties when trying to cancel services, and being locked into a 24-month contract without clear communication has been frustrating. In addition, the general quality of your internet service is very poor, with slow speeds and unreliable connections in many areas. Even after terminating my contract, I continued to receive bills, which caused unnecessary stress and confusion.
Given these experiences, I cannot recommend Salt’s services. I hope this feedback can be used to improve the experience for future customers. I would appreciate any guidance on resolving the outstanding issues related to my account.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.

We opened a phone number with the Surf unlimited tariff. We mistakenly provided the wrong document and were unable to complete the online identification process, so we decided to do it by mail. The post office refused to issue the document because it was mixed up. We called Salt to ask what we should do. The operator said that he had created a request and we just had to wait. We waited a week, but there was no response. We called again and were told, "I will create a request," but were asked to send a valid document. Another week of silence passed, we called, and the response was, "We cannot open your document, please send it again." We waited a whole week to hear this. Why didn't anyone respond? What if I hadn't called? Because of this success and the coldness of the operators, our tariff was postponed for two months, for which we paid, even though we didn't have a SIM card.
We decided to close the number, and the operator spent half an hour pestering us with discounts and other offers. It was awful. We agreed to close the number on January 21 (the closing date was December 15, 2025).
We breathed a sigh of relief until we received a bill for 226 francs in January for early termination of the contract. The contract states that it is valid for at least one month, which was complied with. We had to call again and ask for clarification. The operator confirmed that it was a mistake and submitted a request. Salt deducted 206 francs, saying, "This is a gesture of goodwill." No, you tried to impose a penalty on us without justification. All the conditions were met, and you had to admit your mistake. They left 20 francs to be paid because "you closed the number earlier than a month." Let me remind you that we called on December 15, and the operator closed the number on January 21. More than a month has passed here. These guys make money any way they can. This story has been going on for three months now, and it's just unbearable. No one kindly responds to emails, so we have to call personally, even though we have difficulty with the language.

They trick you into signing worse contracts and then they charge you double. From "lifetime" 39 chf/ month to 109 chf/month. I'm leaving.
Plus the network is worse than Swisscom's network.
