Steve was lovely enough when wanting money. Now that HMRC have claimed it back I'm down £300 due to him ignoring me. Man is a scam.

Avoid

Steve was lovely on the phone and happy to help. Handed over £200 and sure enough he put the claim through for me. However, the money is now in my HMRC account and i am unable to claim it for some reason, i have tried numerous times to contact Steve and his team with no luck. So just like everyone else, im down £200 and ignored from then on.

Absolute melt of a guy! Scammed!!!! Be warned

Absolute melt of a guy! Con man that takes money off people then his phone stops working or gives you a new number! Only answers the phone until he gets his £200 quid! Stay well clear he's just scam artist. No point in telling HMRC as they dont do anything, but his time is coming......

Stay well clear of saltire tax

Stay well clear of saltire tax. To much hastle, nothing at the end of it ! Got my 200 back but took some amount of patience and constant phoning and texting. If he employed a couple people to deal with the amount of folk coming to him then maybe it would work.

Absolute scam and n**ce behaviour

Absolute scam and n**ce behaviour. He’ll butter you up and give you a “special” phone number for the “special” customers to “reach” him on. And the proceeds to change said number multiple times. Absolute waste of a guy, doing nothing and taking money whilst the rest of us are doing actual hard graft. Away ye go. Enjoy my £200, put it towards a wee holiday, you deserve it 😂

£200 gone

Didn't want to leave this review i honestly thought stevie was genuine but months now he wont answer the phone to me, i know he is there because he phoned my work colleague looking for more business i then phoned the number back straight away and it rang out. Doesn't answer texts/emails either, i just want my £200 back as I've had nothing to show for it but i really doubt that will happen. In my opinion i would avoid.

If I could rate 0 I would

If I could rate 0 I would. £200 down after paying for a service for tax refund expenses that has now taken a year to compete. The guy I have been dealing with Steve was initially communicating although infrequent and always had excuses for lack of communication has now went totally underground after informing me I will be receiving the £200 back. Complete radio silence phone straight to voicemail despite numerous txts and emails, I can’t believe the incompetence and sheer shocking communication from this company. I should have trusted my gut from the beginning that it was a red flag but I will be taking this further to get my money back. They have since deleted their website and is showing as a dormant company on gov uk.

Myself and husband are currently down…

Myself and husband are currently down £400 with complete radio silence from Steve. Multiple emails and texts sent and nothing back. He did say we could be refunded but obvs trying to get that started has been impossible. I would absolutely avoid any dealings and tbh, the alarm beeps should have been ringing when I seen some poor reviews.

Don't go near this place

Don't go near this place. A complete and utter waste of time. I initially spoke to someone who said that they would provide their services. This involved filling in forms, making phone calls to the Tax office, all of which took a large amount of my time. Then eventually, Saltire Tax simply stopped answering my calls. No response to E-mails or anything. Thankfully I have no been subject to any charges, but the time I then had to spend to take myself off of self assessment was another unneeded hassle. Shocking!

Avoid. Go elsewhere.

Zero customer service, web site has been under construction for months, no response to emails, no response to calls or texts.

The previous years dealings resulted in a snotty call from Steve because I had the audacity to send him an email complaining that I had tried to contact him 18 times after paying him £200. Only then did he return the call. He tried to say that he was doing me a favour by helping me, like I had a cheek for asking him to deal with the accounts he'd been paid for.

Save yourself the hassle and go with someone else. They obviously have more work than they can manage but that isn't a reason to treat paying customers with contempt.

Saltire Tax - Terrible company to deal with

Saltire Tax

Customer service is non existent with this company and I would suggest anyone looking into using them should avoid if you don't want stress.

I was recommended this company and sent them my details, they did get back to me and said they can claim my previous accounts. They charged £200 for doing this, so one year I was able to claim but Steve who runs the show, said I can contact HMRC to open another two years which have been closed and I can claim this back also.

I got HMRC to reopen those two years, I contacted Saltire Tax numerous occasions and never got any reply. Getting in touch with them when you need them is basically non existent. During this time of them being reopened, I was getting numerous letters from HMRC saying I haven't submitted account and then I was getting fines sent to me weekly due to this.

During this time, I called them, text them and numerous emails but nothing. 7-8 months later I finally got a reply. They said I can only claim for one of those years instead of the 2 I was originally told. Then for another £100 he would do this years for me also. I paid the money and was told I was due £2200 in rebates.

On the HMRC app it only showed I was owed £800 odd, not the £2200 I was originally told by Steve at Saltire Tax.

Once again, numerous phone calls, voice messages, text messages and emails. I finally got a response. Only took 2 months this time and it was due to me to keep phoning.

Well Steve spoke with a complete nasty attitude on the phone, telling me how busy he is and he's doing me a favour. NO Steve, I paid for a service which I am due. Treating customers like this is a terrible thing and making excuses of you being busy isn't good enough. We are all busy people, when we pay for a service we expect our service that we paid for. Its not you doing us a favour as you keep telling us, we pay you to do this for us.

The last call was full of excuses, blaming ex staff etc, even though I phoned and messaged him. I personally don't care if he's got 800 messages as he stated. We are paying customers and expect to be dealt with in a timely manner and with some respect.

I did say this to Steve and he spat the dummy out, big cry baby. So he gave me my £100 back and I will go elsewhere. I'll go to a company where people are treated with respect and dealt with in a timely manner.
