Awful experience
Absolutely to echo previous peoples issues, I still have an ongoing query open with Scootmax as they are doing everything in their power to avoid refunding my money, despite the package being unopened and me paying for the return.
I’ve also noticed the review website that initially recommended Scootmax has rebranded to Sparkscoot.
If you follow the link the Scootmax and Sparkscoot websites are identical so assume the are now operating under a new name due to the bad reviews, so would avoid this company too.
Please please don’t purchase from this company.
Absolute disgrace
Absolute disgrace, I didn’t receive the scooter, it’s at the delivery station and they are attempting to con me out of a return fee. The order was to take 2/3 working days and took 2 weeks with no contact from this company. Cindy keeps emailing me asking why I don’t want the scooter and I have repeated myself and informed her I am yet to receive it and there for don’t want it due to delay. Tells me I have to send it back even though I haven’t received it. Refusing to provide a refund with out the scooter also charging me 50 pound plus return cost for not receiving the item.
Please be aware of this company and…
Please be aware of this company and don’t waste your money I received the scooter but decided to return unopened
I contacted the company straight away they eventually answered my message saying it was expensive to return and on three occasions offered me £30-£40-£50 refund to keep the scooter which I refused and asked on each occasion for a returns label only to be told on the last request that they don’t provide returns labels
I asked for a return address which after 4 requests was eventually provided
I returned the item at my own expense and was asked for photos to show that it hadn’t been used which I did
Eventually I was refunded minus £79 because they had decided that because the box was opened on their request that the item had been used
I have queried this with them and they won’t now respond so I paid £79 for nothing
The person I dealt with was called Cindy the company answer emails at 3am U.K. time and are based in China
The company is conning people out of their money the goods from other reviews suggests they aren’t fit for purpose and even if you don’t use the item and do get lucky and return the item to them they still take your money
Be aware scam

Poor quality material even worse customer service
After purchased a scooter from scoottmax for my son's birthday within 20 seconds going down the road the wheel broke in two big pieces. I contacted scoottmax and the reply from Cindy was blunt with no offer for help or replacement but was just due to impact, I know the roads in Norwich aren't the best but from my home I am proud to say no pot holes
Shocking experience from scootmax…
Shocking experience from scootmax similar to everyone’s below. What courier service did everyone use to return the product.
chinese company with no uk office
So i ordered a scooter through Klarna but tried to cancel within half hour of placing the order to be told it had been shipped and could not cancel. it arrived three days later so i sent email to Cindy ( compleat waste of space) asking for refund i got three emails back asking me to keep it as it will cost too much to send back (dont know, when they come from Birmingham warehouse) they offered me £15, £30, and £45 to keep it. i carried on with emails back and too about 20 in total asking for return details that they were not happy in giving. finaly got the address to send back at my cost and sent it but have now waited two more weeks with no reply to emails to get the refund. Refund came today but they have taken off 15% for restocking. if you get stuck with this company keep on top of emails and clearly state to them that they trade as a UK company so by law they have to except all refunds and returns. the warehouse you need to send back to is as followed - Top cloud logistics LTD

DO NOT BUY A SCOOTER FROM SCOOTMAX
DO NOT BUY A SCOOTER FROM SCOOTMAX
The company does not exist according to Companies House, it’s a total scam run from Hong Kong. The distributor appears to be TOP CLOUD LOGISTICS in Birmingham who I believe is actually SCOOTMAX..
I have tried to return the scooter without success, if you email them you will get a reply from CINDY who must be very hard working because she replies at 0400 and she will never give a returns address.
I am in the process of reporting this to Trading Standards to see whether they can do anything to protect people who are taken in by these scam artists.
SCAMMERS AVOID AVOID AVOID
Like many of the other reviews that I wish I had read before, stay well away from these scumbags. They can't be a legit company but they've found a way of trading in the UK.
We bought an escooter from them that is completely broken. Never charged, never turned on, partly damaged, not packaged properly. The list goes on. Reached out to them and sent them everything they asked for (videos of the scooter not working, proving we still have the original packing etc). Explained our situation that we were heading out to Europe on a 6 month roadtrip so needed it sorted before we go.
They have pulled every trick possible in delaying any sort of resolution. The main one being..what kind of company can't give out an address for their "warehouses" in Germany or Spain because of "personal reasons" in order for us to return the faulty product?? As we are driving around Europe, we are more than happy to visit one of their "warehouses" to return it, but they refuse. So what are they hiding?! Makes you wonder what type of activity is really going on with this company. And one that banks in Jammu and Kashmir. Sometimes I'm not sure if I'm emailing a bot or a highly unintellectual person called Cindy. She has offered us £20 and "how about you don't return the scooter". Why are they so desperate to not give out their address?! She has also suggested we take the scooter to a garage?? Or she can send us "a part for free" when she has no idea whats wrong with the bloody thing. We've been round circles a million times and getting nowhere so if you want to throw over 300 quid down the toilet and deal with imbeciles, these are your crowd.
Reporting to Police, trading standards and our bank. Will also be contacting the site that recommended them to take the article down or edit as we never would have found these scammers otherwise. Stay well clear of them!!
Stalingrad
Hi people, i read the article which was too good to be true, i'm guessing Scootmax may have been involved there! so i ordered and only THEN went to Trustpilot! unopened box arrived today, i am not sure where to return, theres a Birmingham address on the invoice, after i call they are just the despatcher, Topcloud Logistics, I've said to Cindy, i will honestly report how my unopened return is handled. cheers Kieron
Update 21/9 so i send pics of the unopened box asking for a return address to which to send, Cindy replies have i received to box!? Truly bizarre, Stalingrad approach I'm sure, still no return address!
22/9/23 Still no return address, I'm offered a discount on the unwanted scooter, as they sent a 8.5" unit instead of 10" unit. Stalingrad!
29 9 23 i have been given the distributor address, Topcloud in Birmingham to return the unopened package, i replied, they should pick up the return package bill, as they supplied the lesser unwanted model, ie 8.5" wheels and 350W motor, not the 10" and 400W i paid for! I await their reply, what a ballache
Avoid rubbish product and no warranty service
It stopped working after a week. The complaints process is a complete failure. Instead of taking the product to the service center, they sent the battery and told me to replace it myself, although I completely refused to do so. Of course, when there was no option because they refused to service it, after replacing the battery it turned out that the scooter still did not work. Of course, in the end they refused to return it and said that I had filled it with water. The scooter should be waterproof, but it is not. When you buy the product on Amazon, you will not have a problem with complaints, and for a similar price you will find a product with shock absorption and a stronger motor.
Do not buy a Scootmax electric scooter!
Awful product and customer service. I bought one in France and it is useless! The scooter is woefully underpowered. I’m a 85 kg man & the scooter will not take me up even the slightest hill! It labours and stops at the the slightest incline. I gave up after travelling a distance of 1 kilometre and reported the problem to Customer Services. They didn’t want to know and refused a refund as the app said I’d travelled more than 3 miles. (The app recorded I’d done 8.1 kilometres- absolutely no way, I’d done a round trip of only about 1 kilometre!).
I will be throwing the £300 on the skip. Avoid Scootmax like the plague!
bought 2 of these scooters arrived…
bought 2 of these scooters arrived within 2 days one worked fine the second one was faulty have tried to get a replacement but all i get is a reply to my email once a day asking me to do different things to make the faulty scooter work i have told them that it does not work sent them videos of it not working as they requested but still no refund or exchange this is obviously a shady Chinese company with no customer service and would advise anyone not to buy from this company with a fake web site and false customer reviews and no contact number.
DO NOT BUY
Been trying to get money back since May. Absolute disgrace scooter packed after two weeks with faulty controller. DO NOT BUY. Terrible customer service had read revirws but must have been fake. At 70yrs old very strrssful sleepless nights . No scooter and no money returned.
Fake good reviews. Fake sale. Won't refund fully even though product was faulty. Avoid at any cost.
A faulty scooter was delivered with Bluetooth not working. Upon contacting the customer service few tips were given. This didn't resolve the matter so I asked for a return to be arranged. This is when the drama started. Customer Services manager Alex was trying to convince me to exchange the product which I refused. After 2 sts of emails about 20 threads on each i was given a refund minus £50.00. Luckily the credit card company was already contacted and I got my money back. They use a fake review website and says flash sale on but the timer resets and the sale(??) is permanent. In short avoid them at any cost. Also beware Mr Alex who will deal with your queries can be persuasive
