Dishonest criminals

I ordered ski gloves from Scott. It became apparent that, in the cold, they were impossible to put on my hands. It seemed like the lining was coming away from the exterior shell, and I had to poke the back of a fork into the fingers to push the lining back out (not exactly practical when you're on a ski-lift at 3000 metres).

I wrote to Scott and asked for a refund. I got a response "your enquiry has been resolved!". Well, glad that got sorted! I called Scott and enquired as to why I received this response. The agent got defensive and said she emailed me asking for photos of the gloves. Email must have vanished in the cables then. Scott did a great job though.

I followed up with photos of the gloves. As expected, silence ensued. I called back a few days later, only to be told my refund had been issued the previous week, and my bank was at fault for not crediting me with the refund. How convenient. Magically and coincidentally, I then got a flurry of emails from Scott saying "return accepted" and "your refund is on its way". An ordinary person would assume that Scott had just forgotten to issue the refund, and that my call had reminded them to do so. Scott think they are smarter than all of us though - its all just a big coincidence.

You guessed it - 13 days have passed since they've promised me a refund in writing. Nothing has hit my bank account, though. Wonder if my bank have eaten the refund again.

Great job though, Scott, you clearly value your customers. I'll now raise a dispute with Natwest for £40, and you'll have to pay the Visa chargeback fee of £45.

These people disgust me.

Terrible service

Ordered ski goggles 13 days ago. I was told today they should arrive in five days time. When I asked to cancel the order as I am due to leave in four days time, I was told this was not possible. At the time of purchase I was told they would take 4-5 days to be delivered

Scott scale 910 AXS

Great bike and easy to ride.

It's a fun and very light.
I read a lot of issues with Scott.
But I see a lot of different bike brands having plenty of issues with very expressive bikes and having bad reputation and bad customer support.

Appalling Quality Bikes

My son purchased a Scott Aspect 960 Hardtail Mountain Bike in January of this year and I can honestly say the quality is shocking. Apart from the paint flaking off the frame at the slightest touch, it’s had several problems with the gears and the pedal axel is completely broken. He contacted Scott who basically said it’s not their problem and told him to contact the seller, Balfe’s Bikes (who have terrible customer aftercare). What was meant to be an upgrade from his previous (very reliable) Halfords bike is now completely unusable. Don’t waste your money, I’d recommend Halfords Apollo which lasted years with absolutely no issues.

sub tour eride 20

In September 2024, I purchased a Scott Sub Tour eRide 20 Unisex M52. (3000€)
Before even reaching the first scheduled maintenance at 500 km, the bike had to be brought in because the chain was too loose.

At 1,100 km, I had to return it to the bike shop once again due to noise while riding. This time, the issue was the front gear, which was shedding metal fragments. The shop resolved this by reversing and reinstalling the part.

Now, at just 2,150 km, the bike is back in for service. The rear cogs are worn out and the chain needs to be replaced — all within just 8 months of use. I have been maintaining the bike, including regularly oiling the chain.
Contacted them by email and got the response that , wearing parts are not covered by the warranty. For a premium bike brand like scott this is just unacceptable.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service, ordered bike shoes used them once on an indoor peloton, to tight they will not work with customer to resolve the issue. I ordered a size larger to account for this like I have ordered in the past from other companies, never had problem.
They are just so matter of factly about no returns...the shoes are in perfect condition. After this terrible customer service I searched reviews they have a lot of bad reviews.
Do not by from ScottUSA

Jacket returned back to me with stain

I bought a ski jacket from them. I tried it on around the apartment maybe 2-3 times while I compared it to other ski jackets I ordered. I decided to keep a different ski jacket so I tried to return my Scott sports jacket. They shipped it back to me with a stain on the front of the jacket with a note that said “Used - foot print on jacket.” Now, all I’m saying is I did not see this stain when I received it from them the first time. I’m very particular, have a keen eye for detail, and a perfectionist. I would have noticed a stain on the very front of an expensive ski jacket that I just received. I certainly did not put it on the floor and step on it (nothing goes on the floor in my house). Fast forward to when I received the returned package, it was the FIRST thing I noticed when taking it out of the box. All I know is I didn’t put this stain on this jacket and it somehow got a stain from the time I sent it to them and them sending it back to me. So my assumption is they wanted to find a way to make this product “unreturnable”. You can clearly tell this jacket was never used, just has a mysterious stain on it now. I’ll never give this company another penny. Shady business.

The worst customer service

I had a terrible experience with this company’s customer service. I bought a pair of skiing pants, and after wearing them for less than a month, they developed a hole in the crotch from normal use, which shows how low quality they are. I returned them and filed a complaint, but I’m still waiting for my refund since February. Now, I have neither the pants nor my money. They claimed they processed the refund, but I haven’t received anything, and they didn’t even ask for my bank account details. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered.

worried after bad reviews but a really great experience.

I was really worried after ordering from this website that I would regret it. I didn't realise it had such poor trustpilot reviews.

I ordered a helmet, arm warmers and gloves all of which were in the sale for great savings. I also got 20% off as I was a first time subscriber to the newsletter. All of this with free shipping which I don't think I should have been eligible for as I hadn't spent £100, I think it took my order before savings and calculated shipping based off that.

My order came well packaged within 4 days with UPS, no problems and I'm extremely happy with it, I will be ordering more and hopefully my experience continues. My thoughts to explain the negative reviews are it could be mixing up the american scott sports website? Alternatively a lot of the negative reviews mention bike purchases, something I have no experience in.

Scott Ultimate warm ski gloves - Rubbish…

Bought Scott Ultimate warm ski gloves and they turned out to be the worst ski gloves I have ever owned.
They didn't keep my hands warm and the lining twisted making it very difficult to put the gloves on.
After six days skiing the stitching between thumb and palm on both gloves split. Completely useless gloves from every point of view. Wrote to Scott customer services and got no reply.

Zapatillas Scott Mtb Comp Boa…

Zapatillas Scott Mtb Comp Boa Reflective Gris

Awful

Awful. I'm always wary of ordering a bike helmet online especially from a retailer that charges a non-refundable shipping fee. So I did my homework. Specs online looked good. Then called and spoke with a customer service agent to find out if it was a round and oval fit. Everything seem to check out. When I get the helmet, it weighed 75 grams more than advertised and the fit was the exact opposite of what I was told. Lost $12.95 on shipping. In contrast when I have had the same thing happen with Moosejaw, they refunded both the price of the item and the shipping. I'll never buy another Scott product. Was interested in a couple of their mountain bikes, but can't trust their posted specs or what they tell me on the phone.

SCOTT SPEED CARBON RC trainers (flawed)

Purchased a pair of SCOTT SPEED CARBON RC RUNNING SHOES for my daughter. They retail at £179.99.
Although relatively comfy, and the carbon plate helps, their focus has been all about the carbon plate (they even mispronounce "Carbitex" in their video) they have forgotten about the part where the shoe rubs against the heel - causing serious cuts on both heels. Instead of a fully cushioned heel, there is harsh stitching inside here and a silly flap. On very first use doing a 5k, she got cut to bits.
WHY ON EARTH FOR A FLAGSHIP RUNNING SHOE DOESN'T SCOTT FULLY PAD THIS AREA - LIKE ALL OTHER BRANDS?
It's just one flaw - but a massive safety one and it means forking out about £12 for padded plasters every week.

Speedster 20

Use a Speedster 20. Standard tyres like a truck from Schwalbe, the baddest choise. Cheap Shimano stuff what better could be Sram. For me the baddest bike I ever have had.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

I bought a Scott Addict Gravel 30 in Junuary.
After only 3 months of use on the road and little bit of gravel road, i have already 3 paints accident on the fork + the paint of the main tube bar below the saddle who s turning glossy instead of mat.

The return that i received from the Scott customer service is that there is no issue with the quality of the paint, all is normal. The mat aspect is gone because of the friction with my bib short (only after 3 months) and for the fork they supposed some gravels hit the paint. No excuse, no domage, no exchange. Theu simply don't care. Last bike from this brand that i will buy.

BTW i have 2 other bike with black mat paint, one Bianchi since 10 years and one Canyon since 4 years, Guess what ? They are still perfectly mat !
