I have tried calling Scott sports to get a bit of advice around buying a tracker for a £5,500 electric mountain bike that I just purchased.
I called the number on their website for customer services and it just rings out. Tried a load of times.
Really really really poor service.
I will never buy or recommend Scott bikes to anyone as after sales service is a priority for me.
Poor in the extreme.
Disgusting customer service
Scott Sub Cross 20 i bought in Janury and did not use it till summer and just ride it few times and bike broke down (derailleur hanger) so i wrote the message and the pics and they said it has to be my fault because it could not happend by itself. Stay away from their bike worst bikes i have ever had and will never buy it again overpriced piece of junk.
Scott addict 20 eride 4 months 4 major issues
Scott addict 20 eride
What a nightmare
4 months old
4 faults
1. Spring in rear hub broken causing all sorts of issues
2. Faulty torque sensor BB causing no motor drive
cause water ingress
3.. faulty BB lose bearings causing on new BB from point 2 fitting
eccentric crank rotation
4. Head steering bearings
Again water ingress
Before I had orbea gain m 20 no faults in 7200 miles
Will never buy a Scott again
Not fit for purpose
No support and had to travel to remote dealer 4x to fix who are great but a long way a way 1000miles never mind time off the road
Update as of 22nd March 2023 dealer says took half a litre of water out of the bike
Really how is this getting in who designed this bike
It getting in through the top of the handlebars where the brake cables go in there is no cover over this big hole no rubber seals on any of the head cover screw nothing
Called Scott they said they have no reports well they do me I had many bikes in 40 years same weather conditions no water issues Scott pointed me back to the dealer
So after 4 months and 4 faults 3 related to water I have concluded this bike is not fit for purpose
As the only time I can take it out is on a nice summers day and I cannot wash it either
So I am rejecting the bike as not fit for purpose and speaking to the dealer
Premium bike according to Scott I think not
Watch this space updates to follow
Further update may 1st 2023
So took bike home after BB and head bearings replacement plug all the holes with blue tack to stop water ingress
But still had eccentric crank issues from 1st BB replacement not fixed
Took it back in they supposedly repair it they had not same issue
Rang dealer again they said they would contact Scott and get back to me
In the meantime about a week ago motor stoped working suspect BB torque sensor fault no errors
But the system would no show errors as if the torque pedal sensor was not producing an output then the system would just think I was not peddling
So put in a PayPal claim and contacted MAHLE who did respond
So long story short SCOTT is excepting the bike back and a full refund will be issued
Ignore the size chart that Scott Sports…
Ignore the size chart that Scott Sports provides on their website. It is wrong, very wrong! Ordered as a gift and it is at least one size too big. Besides, the design of their clothing is not as functional as one would expect, given how they advertise it. Took ages to arrive but that was to be expected, considering the holiday season. Such a shame they cannot get a simple thing like a size chart correct and I suspect the model's measurements are made up by the web designers and don't reflect the actual model.
SCOTT costumer service is flawed
I purchased a 2022 Addict10 in July, and it has been waiting at the mechanic ever since… My first excitement in buying a SCOTTS bicycle quickly gives birth to a very uncomfortable experience, and I have to date not even spend a minute in the saddle. The below customer expressions about SCOTT customer reviews all perfectly complement my dealings. The 800 number does never work. Contacting them via the website delays responses or will not be responded to… I’ve added a Syncron Creston Integrated Cockpit handlebar. My first order was an error and I had to return and reorder (exchanges are not allowed) but SCOTT immediately jacked the price up by $120 (same item) and never credited the return item (in box)… I'm out over $600; I can’t receive a response, nor a confirmation from costumer service. Knowing the saddle, pedal and handlebar quality had stunningly low reviews from the professional sports world, I replaced all items. My mechanic can’t get a hold of support either. I conclude, before even riding a mile in my new 2022 bike that this company is lacking a serious problem with managing structure and maintaining the costumer details that guarantee success for todays market place . Even if I should find this bike to be a great vehicle; I could never recommend to my sports buddies to endure this sort of costumer service! It’s below any other bike experience I’ve had in the last 50 years!
Avoid Scott bikes like you would avoid dog s..t on the sidewalk
I bought a Scott Aspect 740 and after 10 months (ten) its blades was worn down.
Business said it was normal for Scott bikes. I contacted Scott-Sports to ask for their opinion and they confirmed that you shouldn't expect more of their bikes!?!?!?!?!?!
Just to recap. The vendor themselves (Scott) do not have confidence in their bikes to last for more than 10 months.
In my opinion it's a valuable bit of information for anyone of you out there that is thinking of buying a Scott bike.
My advise: DON'T!!! You won't have anything but hassle. There is so many other vendors of bikes out there that take their profession seriously and deliver bikes that they will actually put their name - and money - behind, and some - like Trek, Specialized and others even offer a 2 year NO HASSLE moving part guarantee.
As far as Scott bikes are concerned. You should avoid those the same way you avoid a dog s..t on the sidewalk.
I bought a Scott-Avanti a month and a…
I bought a Scott-Avanti a month and a half ago, barely ridden 300 KM and the fork dropouts bent. The customer service team who raised the warranty came back after 10 days saying it was caused by "External Forces" or "Loosely Fitted Quick Release". Sorry to say that the customer service is extremely poor and very very tough to reach. i will never recommend these bikes to anyone. 800 $$ down the drain. Thank you Scott for such a crappy experience.
Additionally they did mention it cannot be a manufacturing defect and have asked the dealer partner to repair it. Bad Bad Quality.
Worst bike i have ever bought
Honestly, my Scott bike has been by a long, long way the worst bike i have ever bought.
After owning cheaper bikes for many years i finally decided to spend a bit more on a bike........huge mistake!!!
12 months later, broken chains, broken pedals, faulty brakes etc etc and i've finally had enough!
Never, ever will i buy a Scott bike again
Walmart Bikes are better !!
I bought the ScottGenius 1 year ago. I have had nothing but issues with the bike where the fork seals came blown out ! Now a dent I. My frame in which I hit the bike with nothing, ( no dings or paint scuffs). Scott wants to sell me a crashed frame for$750 and I dont even want this garbage product! Scott is the worst customer service as nobody will call me back about them telling me I have to deal with it !! $3500 dollars later and a very very poor product made! Buyer be ware !! Do not buy Scott bicycles they are absolute garbage! The bike also came with chips in the frame and no discount. The anchor bolt for the water bottle cage fell out in the frame and so now it jingles and rattles. I can’t even attach a pump because of this. The wheels are the weakest wheels you could put on a bike. One last this the marzochi forks that come on the bike are clapped out just like the rest of the company !! DO NOT BUY SCOTT products you will undoubtably regret it, and they will steal your money! Offered a crash frame for $750 what a slap in the face
VERY BAD support , will never buy again Scot brand of any kind !!!
Hello SCOTT headquarters in Switzerland,
unfortunately I did not think I had to write on such an understandable topic.
As SCOTT regrets its flag professional excellence and no less Professionalism in service that in most cases is THE significant part for the professional rider that the bike are used almost all week in a row,.
Anyway that was my impression back then …
and as a result I bought your flagship top model the RC 900 SL in a very respectable amount of $$$,
On November 12 the rear triangle was broken and it was confirmed by your warranty with a delivery date of January 19, since then for almost half a year nothing was received except excuses.
Since I replace almost every year my bike needless to say I feel like hostage / captive customer of the process, I can’t get new one can’t sell my previous and can’t move forward at any direction.
The truth I was Expecting something completely different from a company that claims to be top notch in every possible segment and I wish I did not have to write such a sad letter that leaves a very bad taste and a lot of question marks…
I really hope you find the time to read my letters and give an appropriate answer to your Unacceptable scheduling
Even the shops cant reach Scott for support
You know Scott customer support is horrible when even the shop that carries their bicycle cant even reach them for service support. Should have known when i rarely see any Scott mountain bikes on the trails. First and last time buying a Scott bike. Stick with a brand that has support for their products.
Low quality and horrible support!
Low quality and horrible support!
Bought a Scott Strike e-bike in 2021. When i needed parts no one could help me with this and I now have a 65000$ useless bike. The quality is also generally not impressiv, they have used low quality glue to fasten patches and cable holders that fall off. The power plugg protector for charging keeps falling out. All i all, bad quality and horrible support.
I just bought a Scott Axis Eride Evo…
I just bought a Scott Axis Eride Evo bike, my certified GPS indicates 23 km / h for 26 km / h displayed on the Kiox, and this with the max correction of wheel circumference. Contacted, Scott's technical service maintains that this is normal and refuses to make a correction. So be aware that you can buy a good quality Scott mountain bike very expensive, but with 10% error on the speed.
New Addict 10 bought 9 months ago
New Addict 10 bought 9 months ago, barely used because of pandemic. Back wheel spoke broke, 'fixed' after 4 weeks in shop, broke again after 1 cycle, Scott refusing to give new back wheel under warranty. Compared with Trek shockingly inept and poor warranty cover from Scott, just wouldn't give any help to shop over defective wheel.
Hermes failed to deliver my order from…
Hermes failed to deliver my order from Scott's sport which is now nearly 3 months ago I've not had any contact from Scott's sport regarding my order or a refund poor customer service my order number is 313647835
Bike came damaged and they only offered…
Bike came damaged and they only offered a $100 credit to my local bike shop. They make the best bikes on the market if you want to spend 14k. Other than that, I am disappointed with the new genius 960. All though performance has been amazing, all it does is creak very loudly. The cheap brakes they stocked it with just failed causing me to crash. I have always loved Scott bikes and I hope they can turn it around.
Didn’t get my order… lost in transit!
Didn’t get my order, not really Scott’s fault though, it was Hermes!! Scott used Hermes twice to send my order and on both occasions they got lost in transit!! Hermes seems to have a good reputation for poor service.
I contacted Scott-sports support on…
I contacted Scott-sports support on June 10th 2021 in order to request for pdf manuals in French relating to a specific e-bike model. This because their "Bike Manuals & documentation" page on their belgian French website not working. The page shows an internal server error.
I noticed the error to them as part of my request.
First they provide me an English manual. Had to re-ask them the one in French. Then I realize they provided me the wrong manual (the one for normal bikes, whereas I was looking for a specific electric bike model). They tell me to go to their website which is ridiculous since I already told them it's not working.
After indicating more specifically what manual I am looking for (which I expected they would figure out based on the model in the first place), they answer me saying they don't have the manual in french. This is ridiculous since I got the manual in paper form when buying the bike... I'm sure some internal inquiry on their side would allow to get it.
In the meantime, the internal server error is still visible on their page...
This is a perfect example of very bad customer service.
Custom service service is really suck
Custom service service is really suck. They do not answer any message no phone call. I have a Scott Electric mountain bike - local bike shops do not want to fix it.
I purchased a Scott Aspect 960 29er…Rubbish & crap service
I purchased a Scott Aspect 960 29er bike from the Kalgoorlie My Ride store on Boulder road, the bike was only approx 8 months old when I was made to pay for a new rear gear cluster due to what I would call incompetent servicing at the local bike store - in disgust I decided to just sell the what I would rate as a pretty average type of mountain bike for its price, the owner of the store said something along the lines of "I am not changing the gears enough" as to why this part needed to be replaced - was told by them that the people at Scott didn't believe that this item should be covered by warranty - been about 3 months now since I on sold the bike but still eats at me as to the level of service and so call warranty made available to the buying public, sent this to Scott Sports after the sale of bike, never had a reply.
