Way better options out there than ComGateway

I have dealt with ComGateway a lot over the past 6 months and am relieved to say that my relationship with this company has now come to an end. Some things they do very well - the processing of parcels, repacking etc. done by the Oregon warehouse is excellent. The price for the quality and speed of shipping is reasonable.

Where they fall down is in transparency of pricing and in their customer service when things get complicated. I am, frankly, shocked at how little expertise there is in the customer service team in understanding the import requirements - this has caused me a LOT of headaches, asking complicated questions and getting generic answers until I finally got assistance from the Manager (Rodgelyn), who seems to be the only person who understands how things work.

The hidden charges are also just not on. Their website outlines fees and charges but this is NOT everything they will charge you if you go ahead and ship a parcel with them. You only find out about their 5% admin fee and how they administer that when you go to ship. On top of that, their online fee calculator is frequently overcharging you - I had my own spreadsheet to estimate the fees and charges so I knew what to expect before I agreed to use them, and they were out by USD200 in some cases!!!!!

Dealing with customer service is also very slow - simple enquiries take 24 hours and complex ones can take 2-3 days to get a response on. The live chat doesn't work at all any more and hasn't for more than a month.

All in all, using their service created more stress than it relieved, and I have now moved to another provider who does not charge GST (as a small business, this is much easier to deal with because I am registered for GST so should not have to pay it) and responds to my enquiries within hours not days. My advice is to RUN, don't walk, to another supplier.

Christmas decor return

I had to return a Christmas decor which was shipped out with other items by Amazon. The return item was given a QR code which could not be used for the return shipment so I had to revert to Amazon to obtain a Pre-paid label. Despite this slight complexity, Aldrin from Comgateway was patient and understanding. We kept in touch constantly to coordinate and verify that the correct item would be shipped back. Comgateway always impressed with its personalized service and everything went as planned. Aldrin was awesome with his customer service! Keep up the great service Comgateway

Best customer service provided

I'm not sure how did comGateway had less than 5 star ratings, but i do want to share my experience with comGateway customer service.

I bought maybe around 10 items from Amazon and used comGateway as my shipping provider. Never did i realised that the shipping address at comGateway had changed. I had contacted the customer service and this is the part of the response i received, "We would like to inform that comGateway made pre-arrangement with couriers to reroute packages addressed to our old facility to the new one". They had done an excellent job to provide after-service help to customers like us.

I had some bad experienced with other shipping provider and they do not care about their customers. One of my friend had shipped over to Singapore but she inputted the wrong shipping address. All i had from their customer service was, i had to find the package myself and retrieve back myself.

Coming back to comGateway, I had been with comGateway from maybe around 2011 and had used their services multiple times. They never fail to provide their service with excellence. Therefore, i will always use their service for the upcoming years.

COMGATEWAY IS LEGIT

Just received my 2nd package today. It is well packed like the first one. As a newbie in shopping in US who started back in July 2020, Im so happy with comgateway. They served me well. They never disappoint. It was worth it. Kudos for a job well done to all staff and crew. Keep it up. Im giving them more than 5 stars because they deserve it. Thank you Comgateway!

Quick assistance with packages

I had two packages which were not showing up as having been delivered/processed and I emailed comGateway about it. Reply was prompt and the issues were sorted out within a day. Great customer service!

Okay shipping cost

I’ve used them a few times. I’ve shipped electronics, posters etc, through them and the shipping price was only $40 for all of them to New Zealand which I was quite happy with. I then bought 2 manga books but the shipping price was 90$ which I wasn’t very pleased about.

However, they’ve never lost my packages and their “buy for me” service is great.

Downhill from here....

I had been using ComGateway since 2014 (using a different PayPal account that was connected to ComGateway/HopShopGo...just to clarify as they assume this is my first time sending a package) and they were great back then. Now that they've changed, it's been a mess. I had a package that was delivered on a Saturday to the warehouse and since there's nobody there to receive it's left with the post office. I contacted customer support which you can only contact through live chat or email. (Why aren't there phone numbers anymore???) At first, the response of the live chat was fine. But a week has passed and still my package doesn't appear on my account. I contacted them several times and I think the last customer support person probably blocked me from contacting support because I got upset that it took so long to get my package. It's almost 2 weeks now with still no package in my account and I can't even get through customer support.
