Poor quality
I bought Traupline from the Hayes branch to safeguard my shed against heavy rain. However, upon opening the package, I discovered numerous small holes on the crease, which caused leaks, resulting in my entire shed getting wet.
5 Stars for Gareth & Rick - Ashton Selco
5 stars for both, Gareth and Rick as Ashton Selco. They are both always friendly and helpful when we need something for our small joinery business, thank you.
Combination effort between office staff…
Combination effort between office staff delivery team and the tracking app. I received a Absolutely great first experience using Selco, will definitely be using again.
Poor delivery service
Poor delivery service. Didn’t follow instructions. They were meant to ring door bell to find our delivery instructions instead driver dumps everything on the path blocking access in/out of property and didn’t provide delivery note. I would rate driver as highly unprofessional

Caroline /,Manager Old Kent Road
Caroline , manger of the old Kent branch.I have been buying materials from this branch for over 10yrs . I have met many managers and by far Caroline is the best . She displays her authority with kindness and compassion. She listens and very hands on . I see her doing chores I did not see other managers doing . She very impressive. . She handles disputes between trade and staff simplicity and understanding and makes everyone happy! 10/10 for satisfaction and outstanding!

Prices have gone through the roof
Prices have gone through the roof, they now offer a shocking discount after being a loyal customer for years ,
The last 3 deliveries have been late or just not shown up at all.
Shocking over the last year or so.
Very attentive staff who go above & beyond
Very attentive staff who go above and beyond. Always smiling and never fail to provide a great service. Tanya & Tess were super helpful with my order making sure everything met my needs.
Will continue to shop at selco Elland road.
5 star service
Went into Solihull , West mids. Couldn't find what I wanted as not on shelf. I spoke to Lewis. He looked at the code I wanted and off he went. Some 5 mins later he bought the tub of screws I wanted after having to fetch them down on a FLT from top rack. He went out of his way to go over and above to help me. 5 star service. Then at the counter, similar service from the older grey haired chap, forgot his name but he was so pleasant to deal with. Both were polite and professional. Credit to Selco.
Formal Complaint Regarding Serious Customer Service Failure and Inconvenience
Absolutely shocking experience with SELCO Bristol and Cheltenham.
We travelled from Cardiff specifically to purchase an L Shape Left bath after calling Bristol branch beforehand to confirm stock availability. We were clearly told there were 4 units available. The website also showed the product as “available”.
After driving over an hour to Bristol, we arrived only to be told that every single bath in stock was broken/damaged. Nobody mentioned this during the phone call before we left home.
Instead of properly resolving the issue, we informed the Bristol team that Cheltenham branch also showed stock online and asked them to personally confirm the products were actually available and not damaged before we travelled again. They contacted Cheltenham and assured us everything was fine.
We then drove to Cheltenham — only to discover that all 3 baths there were also broken.
So after spending an entire day driving between Cardiff, Bristol, and Cheltenham, wasting fuel, time, and money, we still returned home empty-handed.
The most unacceptable part was the complete lack of accountability from management. Staff seemed aware the products were damaged, managers appeared uninformed, and despite this the items still remain listed online as “available”.
This situation caused major inconvenience to our family, including missing school collection arrangements for our children due to the unnecessary travelling and misinformation.
Completely unacceptable customer service, poor stock management, and extremely misleading availability information.
Customers should not be sent across multiple cities for products that are clearly not sellable.
Very disappointing experience from both branches.
Gives rejects and broken items to small accounts
Opened a trade account, we are a small - predominately tiling company. Have a good relationship with our supplier. We’ve bought a few things from Selco while we flip houses in the process.
Every single time I have to chase delivery, offer a day then confirmation is days later and always after 5pm! there are missing items or items are open/half missing or broken.
This will be the last order we make, had their customer relations call to tell us about tiling offers - but we wouldn’t dare use them.
If you’re a large builders, I’m sure they bend over backwards for you. Smaller accounts like ours, they give you open/broken and rejects. It’s actually shameful.
The last order had a missing tonne bag, how you misplace that - I don’t know. But then took ages to deliver, holding up the job!
The next order money was taken and the order was supposed to be cancelled, we never got that money back!
The last couple of orders, we ordered a load of major bags and nearly all were open and half full.
The wood we ordered was broken and split. Decking was bowed and split.
We’ll be sticking with RGB for everything in future. We had hoped it was just one off’s - but this is the 3rd delivery and all the same.
Sarah was outstanding!!!
Sarah was outstanding, she provided good detail about the product which we had been struggling to get for work being completed on our house. Sarah was friendly, approachable and demonstrated good product knowledge. Sarah also showed us the latest promotions and deals available to us when paying for our product and made this an enjoyable and welcoming experience. When I come back to store in the future, I will look for Sarah if I need any assistance. whilst Sarah works in the store, I also felt like I had the opportunity to have general conversation which in turn made me feel valued, I would go as far as saying I am looking forward to my next shopping experience and would come into store instead of click and collect so that I can say hello. in today’s world, people like Sarah who are willing to have a conversation are hard to come by, so it was pleasing to see someone willing to ask about me and have general conversation rather than the usual questions usually asked when purchasing a product from other retailers I have experienced.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Dear Sir/Madam,
Today we brought 8 surplus INS Boards, which had been purchased approximately two weeks ago, to your Croydon Road branch in Mitcham for a refund. Unfortunately, we experienced very unpleasant and unexpected treatment from a young female staff member.
She appeared to have the surname "Peer Singh" (or something similar), however she was not wearing a name badge and also refused to provide her name. From the beginning, she spoke in a rude and unprofessional manner and stated that: "You did not buy these items from here, so you need to return them to the branch where you purchased them." This statement was completely inconsistent with the known policy and customer service standards of Selco. Furthermore, she was not willing to listen to our explanation or make any effort to understand the situation.
What concerned me even more was that immediately after we entered, several members of staff — from cleaners to the security guard — gathered around us and each person started giving their own opinions and comments. I found this situation very strange, uncomfortable, and quite shocking.
I then asked the young lady if I could speak with the store manager, but she incorrectly informed me that there was no manager available. Afterwards, I approached a young male staff member and requested assistance. He kindly directed me to the store manager. I explained the entire situation clearly to the manager, and after reviewing the matter, he approved and instructed the refund to proceed.
The purpose of this complaint is not simply to express dissatisfaction, but to ensure that other customers do not experience similar treatment in the future. Customers should be treated with respect, professionalism, honesty, and courtesy, especially by staff representing a reputable company such as Selco.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Kind regards,
Your regular Costemer.

I’m speechless and long story short .We wanted to order a kitchen ,design was made already, pictures and drawings provided just needed a quote for it.Today I have received an email from one of the Selco branch in Hemel Hempstead :
Regarding the kitchen if you have a way to move forward with Wickes, I would suggest doing so.They are understaffed and don’t have time for this unless I will give him one week or so.Thats what I did, went to Wickes and ordered kitchen there.
