Great value friendly staff
The staff are helpful and friendly and received good value for money and wide range of products and prices as trade member you get value for money always use selco as its local and better than travis perkins and other builders merchants
Staff not friendly/helpful at Catford branch
The young lady on the tills at Catford branch is very rude and always looks like she doesn't want to be at work as she is always miserable and impolite and is not very helpful. She obviously doesn't like her job.
I get 20% discount due to the amount I spend at Selco. Anyway today I asked her if the flooring that I bought was red line which means not available on a discount. She told me that the product is not red line but also told me a lie by saying that the product was already on sale (real deal price) and because of this she would not be able to give me the usual 20% discount. I believed what she said but before I left the car park I checked Selco's website and discovered that the flooring was not on sale (real deal price). She told me this lie because she could not be bothered to give me the discount or ask her manager to authorise the discount.
She did not put her name on the receipt but her staff number shown on the receipt is 534551.
First time Selco customer - I'll be back
I've never been to Selco before, the company was recommended by my builder. The customer service I received from Tess, Matt and Dee at Elland Road was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Superb customer service. The deliveries arrived in time with no hassle. I can't recommend them enough.
Visited 3 Selco Store, NO JOY......
Visited Selco yesterday, IG11 8BL did not have Leyland, oil based paint. Advised to go to E16 4SP, nobody was available to mix paint. Staff as helpful as they cld be but busy unloading deliveries. Staff very pleasant helpful. Staff advised, N17 Then drove to N17 7BF. Leyland paint machine has not worked for a year, the only mix wld be Dulux, costing £90.00 for 2.5 tin of oil based egg shell paint. Staff very helpful but I am not prepared to pay £90.00 for 2.5 Dulux paint. So, I called Chris Stevens and will purchase paint from them. Wasted whole afternoon visiting Selco sights. Not impressed at all.

It goes to show the staff really don’t care about customer service or satisfaction, they are happy to lose a £200 order just like that! if it was taken out of their wages , I’m sure they would try harder to keep that sale and go that bit further. . Pretty impressed with Selco aftercare services. We bought patio doors over 5 years ago that developed a significant fault that meant the door always had a big gap at the top when closed. Given that we could reasonably expect the door to last 10-15 years we reached our to Selco to see what they could do. Got a very quick response from Chris W at the Bristol branch, who organised an engineer visit and visited himself with the engineer. Waiting to see what the final outcome is but really impressed with the response so far
(worth googling Money Saving Experts article on how warranties expiring does not prevent you from getting repair/refund/replacement)

Leeds Beeston store Disgusting customer…
Leeds Beeston store Disgusting customer service. My car broke down behind 1 of the trucks I called In & asked if the truck could be moved forward as my back wheel was on double yellow lines & was told it could not as nobody was around to move it & that all the drivers had gone home there was nothing they could do. This was at 4 pm on Friday. I went back to my car to find a selco truck driver going past who I flagged down & asked if someone could move it. He said he would ask the driver to move it. He did so within a few mins. The lady at the counter clearly lied to me. I usually buy stuff from selco not anymore. Disgusting attitude from the lady on the counter.
Value for money and great service
Made a telephone order, customer services confirmed the order, straightforward payment method.
The items were delivered the following day and the driver placed the items where they were required

Selco Salford, tremendous in its customer service. I went there on a Sunday and they weren’t many staff in the building but they were helpful and they dealt with my order so efficiently and I cannot thank enough a lady called Wendy she was tremendous plus all the others. It’s good to see some company, which still have this kind of service.
Beware wrong items sent in deliveries
They appear to make sustitutions, without notice when sending deliveries ordered online/by app. Either that or its sloppy picking at the store.
Recently received wrong plaster beads and architrave (similar but different to those already being used), accepted at delivery by householder. Fortunately I could use the architrave on another job and sold the beads on.
Just be careful to check every item, don't just count them - this isn't the first time its happened on one of my orders.
Excellent customer service from Jessee…
Excellent customer service from Jessee at Selco Croydon. He was the salesperson who helped me with my acoustic panels, which arrived much earlier than expected and were delivered efficiently. Unfortunately, one of the panels was faulty, but Jessee handled it immediately — he contacted the manufacturer straight away and arranged a replacement to be delivered quickly and without any hassle. A genuinely smooth and professional experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.
