Joining edf

I was really nervous when I made the call but Ryan made me feel at ease ,he explained everything clearly ,he was so helpful I thought he was brilliant thank u Ryan.

Signed up yesterday with a company EDF…

Signed up yesterday with a company EDF Energy, I wanted to cancel because my husband told me about the bad reviews, now I've tried to call back and it says "Your number has been blacklisted". Help!! What should I do!?

Mohit Khatwani

Spoke to Mohit Khatwani today who helped me switch from SSE as they are a nightmare . Mohit explained everything to me in detail and helped me to understand my bills better . He gave me the best advice regarding switching from my current supplier and really put my mind at ease regarding such a stressful situation with SSE. I have been quoted a rate that is affordable and saves me so much money with EDF and Mohit was very kind , professional and patient through the whole process . Thank you Mohit 😊

After reading the reviews on this page I’m having second thoughts. Me and my wife were iffy in the first place when they said they were based in the UK and they’re actually in Barcelona, Spain.

Will cancel via EDF energy directly.

SCAMMERS. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS, PLEASE HEAR THIS WARNING!!

Searched for my provider on google which is southern electric - i didn't seem to have their number jotted down anywhere. I've been with them now for coming up to 10 years - i've never had any problems with them. I was calling them to give a meter reading as for some reason it wouldn't go through through the my account area. So, anyway I called up, the bloke said that he would take my meter reading and he just needed to check something for me first.

When it got to the end of the call, I'd end up 'reconfirming' my bank details and all sorts of personal information (more fool me really should have caught on earlier) the guy said he couldn't actually take my meter reading after all and he'd need to give me the number for southern electric directly. I was thinking hold on, for southern electric directly, i thought that was who i were speaking to anyway.

Turns out this company was a sales arm for EDF energy. Doing a bit of digging and they are an off shore callcenter that receive a commission from edf to sell customers edf energy tariffs. They are based in france and spain, I thought it was a bit fishy.

When you look at the terms of use, it seems that they exclusively sell edf energy tariffs, despite their website claiming that they are a comparison company.

I've submitted a request to cancel the tariff and have made a formal complaint to edf regarding these tactics. Think it's completely disgusting to be honest and 100% miselling and scamming. Would definitely work on elderly people or people that didn't later check their email to see they'd signed up to edf instead of the purpose of the original call.

I called back to 'Selectra' the day after and it now says "Your number has been blacklisted". I will be reporting this to the ICO as this is absolutely ridiculous. They scammed me and then blocked my number. SCAMMERS. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS, PLEASE HEAR THIS WARNING!!

Mohit broke my trust. I thought he was a nice gentleman to help me save with British Gas, but he actually worked for EDF Selecta which is to switch me. I didn’t know about, shame on you...
