BEWARE - DON’T TRUST THIS COMPANY or AIF Trucking, Inc!
We had a horrible experience with this company including:
1) Last minute booking of transport
2) Last minute “guaranteed” price escalation by 30%
3) Last minute price escalation AGAIN as car was being loaded on truck due to less than 100 lbs personal items in car (Carrier - AIF Trucking, Inc.)
4) On day of expected delivery, the car was 30 minutes from our destination, but the truck drove right on by to the West coast (Tesla tracks location). We didn’t receive our car until 5 days later after it had been detoured to Portland and Seattle - causing 5 additional days of rental car expense
5) No response from truck driver by text nor cell phone, no communication from SGT or carrier
6) SGT suggests you need to lock in contract to “assure” price and transport, but they really don’t start looking for drivers until eleventh hour.
7) You cannot cancel the contract without $200 penalty even if they can’t find a carrier to transport until the entire pick up window has passed
8) The contract is extensive and essentially has ZERO protections for the customer.
In short, this “broker” has curated its reviews on its website. Look around the net and you will see similar experiences. For the price we ultimately paid for this wild joy ride our car took around the country, we could have driven round trip in less time and FAR less expense (including hotels, gas, etc.) had we never used them. Be careful!

As outlined in the signed agreement, updated pricing may occasionally be required due to trucker-demand fluctuations, and customers always have the discretion to accept or decline revised carrier offers.
We would also like to clarify that the statement claiming we “do not start looking for drivers until the eleventh hour” is incorrect. Our dispatch team actively works to secure a carrier as early as possible within the customer’s requested pickup window. Carrier assignment timelines can vary depending on market conditions, route availability, and scheduling logistics within the nationwide transport network.
Additionally, the claim regarding a “$300 cancellation penalty” is inaccurate. Our agreement clearly states that the administrative cancellation fee is $199, not $300, and it is not automatically charged in every cancellation situation. The fee only applies under specific contractual circumstances and is not a penalty. Likewise, our contracts are designed to protect both our customers and our company by clearly outlining the responsibilities and expectations of all parties involved.
While unforeseen delays, rerouting, or logistical adjustments can occasionally occur within the transport industry, we do acknowledge your dissatisfaction regarding the delivery timeline and communication experience.
At the same time, we must respectfully defend the integrity and reputation of our company against statements that are exaggerated or factually incorrect. We remain committed to transparency, professionalism, and assisting customers throughout the transport process.

I hired SGT Auto Transport after spinning my wheels for two weeks trying to arrange a motorcycle pickup on the northwest coast. I spoke with David in Sales, and he assured me they would get my bike picked up by a qualified driver, on time, and at the estimated cost. Honestly, my expectations were low after prior experiences, but SGT delivered exactly as promised. In fact, they exceeded expectations—my motorcycle was picked up and delivered even faster than estimated. The bike arrived in pristine condition with zero issues. The driver communicated well and really went above and beyond. Great job to SGT and especially David!

I recently ( may2026) booked SGT Auto transport to ship my car from Florida to Chicago. For an additional $300 I was told my date would be GUARANTEED. That date arrived and I was told they did not have a driver to ship my car. I guess they have a different definition of guaranteed. I will never, ever use SGT Auto transport.

I want to preface this negative review with compliments to the driver. Pasquel was professional, pleasant and responsive. He even helped my very elderly mother empty her belongings from the trunk!
My disappointment is with SGT.
I have used SGT for the past few years, a returning, loyal customer. This year, in spite of the
fact that I paid extra for a guaranteed pick-up, signed the paper work and agreed weeks
before on the price to go from FL to NY, they decided to increase the fee another
$200 just a few hours before assigning a carrier to me. SGT informed me it was the carrier who decided to raise the price at the last minute. Rather than SGT picking up that last minute upcharge, or even offering to pay half, which I believe would have been a better business decision, I was told if I do not pay, the carrier would cancel and find another customer. I agreed to pay because I needed to have them pick up the car that day. Maybe, not illegal to
do this, but surely unethical!.

public records show no cargo insurance
I had a negative experience with SGT Auto Transport. My vehicle was delivered with damage that was not present at pickup, and the documentation supports that it occurred during transport.
They do not have cargo insurance! Nor did the driver they hired!

THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT WITH SGT!
SGT Auto Transport is quick to get you to sign an agreement to use their brokerage, unlike many other car transporters. They will want you to pay for their services up-front, too, again, unlike other brokerages. Donʻt fall for it. In my case, I attempted to "validate" their agreement by giving them my payment information, but their website malfunctioned and wouldnʻt complete the transaction - or at least thatʻs what the website said. SGT Auto Transport told me that they would not move ahead with getting me a car transporter until my agreement was validated. They did nothing. I needed to move ahead, so I contacted other brokerages, who worked wonders and got my car transport arranged. I informed SGT of this as a courtesy, and promptly was slapped with a $199 cancellation fee. I asked for a refund, but they refused.
As an update to the above based on Stefanoʻs response to my initial review, I have worked with reputable car transport companies, and they have successfully and in good faith worked with me. Not so with SGT. SGTʻs broken website refused to accept my valid credit card to complete their "agreement" that they indicated had to be "validated" by credit card to be operational. In other words, there was no mutual agreement. SGT didnʻt move forward with anything - no effort to find a car transport and no effort to call me back in a timely fashion.
SGTʻs history shows that it has not and will not acknowledge customer concerns and will stonewall and justify itself and its charges. SGTʻs statement that they are out $199 administratively has no credence. It is self-serving. Keep in mind that no other car transport company in my experience acts like SGT has. All the other companies are reasonable and not out to extract a hefty fee enforcing some web-verbiage that they themselves indicated repeatedly was not binding because it hadnʻt been validated.

No one is forced to use our services, but utilizing our resources and choosing not to pay for the costs associated, is unreasonable and unethical.
SGT was hired to utilize our auto hauling industry expertise and proprietary vetted motor carrier network to set up transport with a licensed and insured motor carrier.
Unlike most brokers, we stand by our commitment to providing you the best service possible by executing contract agreements that bind our commitment to our customers. This is to help our customers not hurt them. We take that commitment seriously and expect that from our customers as well.
What the general public and most first time shippers do not understand is a tremendous amount of resourcing goes into the set up transports and the vetting of our motor carrier network to ensure proper carrier government and insurance credentials. The moment the service contract is signed by our customer, there are no delays in taking action to resource that transport.
We therefore maintain a strict cancellation policy and we go to great lengths to be transparent by communicating this in many ways; verbally, on our website, linked in customer emails, and within the signed customer contract. Unfortunately, the customer breached our mutual written contract, used our resources, then canceled, making a cancellation fee applicable.

After dealing with another company that tried the old bait-and-switch with a lowball quote that kept climbing, working with SGT was a breath of fresh air.
I booked a vehicle transport from Phoenix to Stillwater, Minnesota over the weekend. They said pickup would happen within 1 to 3 business days. It was picked up on Monday. They said delivery would happen within 3 days of pickup. It arrived on Thursday. No drama. No nonsense. No surprise price games.
The driver was friendly, professional, and made my wife feel comfortable during pickup, which mattered because this was her first time going through the process. On the delivery end, he brought the vehicle right up to the garage in Stillwater without any issues.
Bottom line: they did what they said they would do. They honored the quote, hit the timeline, communicated clearly, and made the whole process easy.
That alone is worth 5 stars these days.
