Shared Earth sells Fair Trade, recycled, eco-friendly and ethical products. Our mission is to tackle the climate crisis and create a fairer, more sustainable world. We are a WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation) member, and our performance is monitored regularly against the Ten Principles set by WFTO for Fair Trade organisations. Shared Earth began as a small shop in York in 1986. Jeremy Piercy, founder and Managing Director, travelled to India after leaving school and wanted to do something to help redress the imbalance of wealth in the world, work together with people from different cultures, and at the same time earn a living. Fair Trade was the obvious answer and the original shop contained a wide mix of products from Asia, Africa and South America. Shared Earth now imports its own unique home and giftware, jewellery, fashion accessories, wood, ceramics, paper, soapstone and kids ranges making us the largest retailer and wholesaler of Fair Trade products in the UK. Our policy is to provide quality, design-led products, not just to those who are already aware of Fair Trade principles. With Fair Trade sales showing no sign of slowing, more and more employment is being provided for artisans in developing countries, many of who would otherwise be out of work. At a time when global conflict seems also on the increase, Shared Earth's partnerships with producers are an invaluable way of building bridges, showing that people can work together for mutual benefit, no matter what their race, religion or culture.

I am very pleased with the product and overjoyed to be able to buy some ethical Semi-precious Jewelry(I have read that there is really no such thing as fairtrade Precious jewellry (yet) at a very reasonable price .I am also very pleased with the multicoloured rug which adds a bit of colour(ethically) to my flat again at a very reasonable price.

Jute Bags
Beautiful pictures on several sturdy jute bags that I ordered to carry and store food and drink items on camping trips. Look nice, stand up straight under the camping tables. Nice size at about 30 cms high. Just what I was looking for. Would buy again. Came quickly and well-packaged.

Placed an order online and was kept updated on its progress, the order arrived super quickly. I ordered some crockery and it was very well packed, no chance of any damage in transit. Everything wrapped in brown paper, which we will use in the pets cage as bedding, so no nasty plastic🥰
Love everything about this shop and the online service was excellent,

Kai offered great customer service from the start. I'd ordered some incense, one fragrance of which was out of stock. Kai kept me informed when stock was available and my order subsequently arrived really quickly.
Kai was superb throughout. So helpful and friendly and I'd have no problem recommending this company.

I needed a worry doll to replace a doll lost by a child about to sit SATs. Jenny and her team worked so hard to get me a worry doll & similar to the original, lost doll; I cannot tell you how helpful & brilliant they were online ( including after closing time) to get a replacement to me asap. Thank you all the Shared Earth team- I wish there was a Shared Earth further north.

I wanted a toucan related product and came across Shared Earth via google search. Ordered the Toucan eco jute shopper and couldn’t be more delighted. Will definitely be looking at other products to purchase on this fabulous website.

I was looking at the beautiful copper bottle on Amazon and the reviews where not all positive claiming damaged or substandard quality so I thought would go to an independent company and make my purchase. So glad I did; my bottles arrived in perfect condition, I was also sent an email from the company apologising that they might be a delay in receiving my goods due to staff sickness and being a man down, which I didn’t mind as they were managing my expectations.
Overall a lovely company to buy goods from and would recommend them.
