Reliable and transparent pricing

Chris is very responsive and the price is clear, they will send you details quote so you know exactly what you’re paying for. I’ve had my cctv installed by them as well as having my door fixed.

I've never actually used this company

I've never actually used this company. But one of thier vans parked right across my gate on a dropped kerb. There is plenty of room to park at the property he is actually working at so why block someone else's access?

Well done sheffLOCK Ltd

Brilliant service from Anthony, on time. He fixed my uPVC double doors to the garden which had dropped and I had to remove the plate in order to shut them. Anthony showed me the fault and why I had the problem, promptly fixed and I am really happy with the result. I would not hesitate to use this company again. Thank you sheffLOCK Ltd 5*.

I am hugely impressed by the level of service, expertise and professionalism by the SheffLOCK. They responded to my message and sent the Engineers as soon as possible. I got 3 door locks and 2 handles changed and this was following an attempt burglary. The handles and locks look great and I feel safe and secure. Thank you. Chris C

Tricky Broken Front Door Mechanism - Great Job

Gearbox failed on my rather elderly UPVC front door. They were able to get a fitter out extremely promptly, and he was fantastic. Due to the age of the door and non-standard parts I was expecting this to be a problem job as it were, but he actually had the necessary parts with him, and troubleshooted the problem very thoroughly, leaving everything working better than it had been before the break. Very happy indeed with the service.

We have had our front of house windows refurbished

We have had our front of house windows refurbished today, the work was carried out by Anthony and Joe from Shefflock who are fantastic and their work is outstanding and the windows are looking fantastic with having a makeover. Cannot wait now for the front door to be fitted. We would highly recommend Shefflock to everyone all staff are so helpful and work to such high standards. Thanks

Poor service. Too expensive

This company charged £279 for just replacing a £30 lock in my elderly Nan’s house door. Made it worse and didn’t actually sort the issue she reported.
In response to there response, citizens advise have confirmed that you have done this to other vunrable people. Your locksmith was there less than 25 minutes and spent 10 minutes in his van. So when did the full lock mechanism get replaced? So this post is not misleading and you know that, how can a 84 year old women complain on here? Your taking advantage of this fact that’s the only reason your score is high on here.

I’m afraid your review is simply not true and having spoken to you to explain the breakdown of the work, for you to leave this review is not only disappointing but extremely misleading and amounts to attempts to falsely portray our company to be untrustworthy.

Firstly, the customer in question, was not treated any differently due to her age.
All of our customers are treated equally & fairly no matter what the circumstances.

To provide context, the customer in questions door had completely malfunctioned via numerous locking mechanisms.
She had explained she had had to overnight, place items of furniture up against the door due to concerns of the door being insecure.

Following this our engineer attended and determined the following:

1. The multi point locking mechanism had faulted beyond repair.
2. The Euro lock had faulted beyond repair

It was ascertained the door in question was over 20 years old (this was relayed by the customer) and had never been serviced during this time.
The door had also become misaligned which would have contributed significantly to the locking mechanisms faulting beyond repair having been left unresolved.

We therefore supplied & fitted a new specialist multi point locking mechanism & TS007 3-star 2024 accredited euro lock (in line with insurance and police recommendations) before correctly realigning the door ensuring the door was in good working order which the customer stated that it was and was very happy.

Our pricing is in line with and actually below the recommended pricing of the master locksmith association price guide for the works listed above.

We have explained this to you when you called and have offered to send you the receipt as a clear breakdown of the works completed.

Your claims the parts required cost £30 are completely false and misleading.
They are specialist parts and the workmanship was to a high standard.

We will be requesting this false review be take down immediately especially as you are not the actual customer and were not present when the work was undertaken so clearly do not know what was undertaken and how.

Saved Our Door When We Thought It Needed Replacing

I chose Shefflock because I needed someone to change the locks on an internal wooden door, and I’m really glad I did.

Anthony, the engineer who carried out the work, is clearly highly skilled and passionate about his craft. He not only completed the job efficiently but also took the time to give helpful advice about my front wooden door, which had warped and already needed the lock changed. I had assumed it wasn’t salvageable and had resigned myself to replacing the door entirely.

Anthony managed to give it a new lease of life, and we now have fully restored wooden doors. It’s money very well spent.

An amazing team overall — thank you to Anthony, Chris, and Charlotte for getting everything sorted so quickly and professionally.

Rang at 9am morning asking for locks…

Rang at 9am morning asking for locks for a new property, Tom the locksmith was at our door at 2pm. Two new locks fitted in no more than 20 minutes. Really pleased — quick, easy and friendly.

Disappointing experience with Shefflock…

Disappointing experience with Shefflock today. They hve fitted locks for us before and been happy with them but needed an emergency locksmith today and no number to call apart from getting a robot answr machine with automated questions saying the office is closed and the admin team will respond but no suggestion of it it will be today or next week!! I feel we are left hanging not knowing what is happening!! Will have to use someone else.

Great response when I needed it

Arrived home to find I had been burgled, contacted Shefflock mid afternoon and they had someone with me that evening. Anthony was really helpful with replacing the locks and with additional advice on improving other aspects of home security. Wonderful service when you are at a very low point!

Poor customer service and communication

My experience with Shefflock was unfortunately very disappointing, due to poor customer service, a lack of communication and ultimately being left out of pocket.

I ordered a keyed-to-code Ultion lock along with two spare keys from their website, choosing to collect the order in person as I live locally.
From the start, communication wasn't great: I received no notification when my order was ready and had to chase it a couple of times.
When I was eventually told it was ready, I was advised I could collect anytime during office hours. Their website stated they were open until 8pm, but when I tried to collect after work at 6pm I found the office closed. I called them and it would seem the phone is just forwarded to someone's mobile at that time and they couldn't help.

I eventually collected the order a few days later by taking an hour off work in the morning. At first glance, the order appeared correct — the lock was keyed to the code and came with the two requested keys.
However, once home I discovered my existing keys did not fit the new lock, despite displaying the same key code.
It appeared that Ultion must have slightly changed their key design to be thinner, making older keys incompatible with a new lock.

I returned to Shefflock with the issue a few days later. The staff member tested one of my original keys with the lock, acknowledged the problem, and assured me he would contact Ultion that same day to arrange a replacement. This would be posted out to me to avoid further inconvenience. He asked to keep my original key so he could test the replacement before sending it on, which I agreed to.

Unfortunately, this is where everything broke down - I never received a replacement lock, and my original key was never returned. Despite chasing multiple times over several months, I was repeatedly told someone would “look into it” but I never heard back.
Based on my keycode being registered with Ultion’s key control service and receiving no authorisation email for a new lock being made, I suspect Shefflock never even pursued the replacement with Ultion.

After three months, I gave up expecting a replacement lock to arrive and requested a refund as well as compensation/replacement for my lost key. Unsurprisingly, this too was ignored.
In the end, I had to source a lock from a competitor, who was far more professional — the entire process took just five days from ordering to fitting it.

Ultimately I regret ordering from Shefflock, and I would not be able to recommend this company.

Great communication and service led us to being repeat customers. No cheap tat, but competitively priced and local. Had a delay on the visit day - this happens, but again great communication to manage our expectations. Many thanks.
