Poor Mercedes Customer Service

Very disappointing customer service from Mercedes. Complaints and genuine customer concerns are often ignored, with little effort to provide a proper response or resolution. Some members of the team were also unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive.

Even more frustrating, when you show genuine interest in a car, they may simply sell it to someone else without informing you or even having the courtesy to update you. This is not the level of communication or customer care I would expect from Mercedes-Benz.

Avoid at all costs

Please do not contemplate buying a car from this dealership unless you arrive with the correct credentials, the approved hairstyle, and perhaps a handwritten letter from royalty. I have never visited a dealership so creatively committed to notselling a car.
The salesperson deserves recognition for performing the impossible: making a willing buyer feel like they’d accidentally wandered into a private members’ club instead of a garage. Every interaction felt like an audition I didn’t realise I’d signed up for.
I went in fully prepared to spend money on a car. They, however, appeared fully prepared to ensure that never happened. The entire experience was such a spectacular piece of farcical nonsense that I half expected hidden cameras and a game show host to appear from behind the tyres.
To say customer service was poor would be unfair to other poor customer service experiences. The earth would need to freeze solid before I’d consider parting with money at this dealership.

The Mercedes Benz Colindale branch very…

The Mercedes Benz Colindale branch very bad service, waited a while on the phone which is expected but when needed just a small part they don’t sell them at all which is very silly other websites do sell it but we just wanted the original one.
And they couldn’t help or give us any information on where to get it it sounded like they didn’t want to help and just wanted to get off the phone.

Never buy a Mercedes. Very expensive unreliable junk.

Do not, under any circumstances, buy a Mercedes.
From personal experience I can guarantee that they are total junk, mine has had ongoing problems since it was almost new and neither Mercedes dealerships or Mercedes specialists can find the cause of the persistent problems with the rear NOx sensors.
We bought the car with 47k on the clock, in the 7k we have driven since then we have had the rear NOx sensor replaced twice, the front NOx sensor and Adblue injector replaced once, a new battery, problems with the collision warning system, the stop/start never working and we've spent about £4k trying to keep this piece of junk on the road. So roughly £.060 for every mile we've driven.
We can't trust it to travel very far so only use it for local journeys, we can't sell it as it's now on the 8th rear NOx sensor and the root cause of these problems cannot be found by anyone. Not even webuyanycar are interested in it.

Beware no one accepts responsibility at MB UK Ltd or Sandown Guildford ltd

Service plan debited to my account instead of my wife’s. Queried after a few months to be told all okay. Complaint to MBUk Ltd in July it’s dealer issue even though they process the d/d’s. MBBS Sandown Guildford Ltd gave the wrong details for renewal even though she had an existing plan. My account debited taken MB ukLtd over a month to refund money but nothing for error or financial charges I have incurred. Both MB uk ltd and MB Sandown Guildford wash their hands and don’t want to pay for their errors. Is this Metro be a premium brand? Clearly not and expect customers to foot the bill for their incompetence. Do I nw trust MB UK Ltd NO do I trust the dealer NO I wonder why!
They have not even refunded all the money they promised either. They decided to reduce the amount without telling me and take this months payment. Beware they don’t seem to account to anybody!! Moral of the story is don’t trust what Mercedes says this is clear evidence of a lie

Mercedes Boston horror

Terrible experience with Mercedes Boston. They sold a faulty car last year in Decmeber and ever since I am visiting multiple services to undertstand what is the problem. Car had brake problem, which they don't accept as a safety risk. They are not ashamed just ignore what happened and avoid any communication. And not taking any responsibility for taking others mental and phyaical health under danger.

I bought my Smart Car for Two about…

I bought my Smart Car for Two about eighteen months ago. It didnt get used and remained in my garage on charge with the occasional shopping trip. In all it had done 400 miles. In June we had its first service at Mercedes Wincheste and immidietlt hasd it shipped by transporter to our holiday home in France.
When we came to use it we found it wouldn't charge. After contacting Mercedes Customer services UK their French colleagues collected it for repair. They said the auxillary battery had failed and it wasnt covered under warrenty and I paid £500 for a new battery. Low and behold a week later the same trhing happened and again the Mercedes agent came out and collected the car. This time they said the charger had failed because........... you wont belive this.... because youve charged a UK car on a French charger. They wanted anothe £500 for a charger lead. I wrote to Customer services UK and asked if they could confirm that charging your UK car on the continent would cdause damage. That was three weeks ago and they still havent come back to me. In the meantime this little car sits in the Mercedes dealership in France and it will stay there until Mercedes come up with an answer.
So to all you potential Merc EV buyers take note. Oh! and BTW this car has done 800 miles ,

Poor Service and Misleading Repair Practice

I sent my Mercedes to #Mercedes-Benz of Cambridge, who passed it to #Group 1 Bodyshop in Norwich. I was never told they would drive my car over 120 miles — I assumed premium vehicles like mine are trailered, not used without consent.

On return the repair quality was so substandard and they damaged another part of my car, the tyre pressure sensor was faulty (direct result of wear and tire of unauthorised driving my car for 120 miles), my original alloy wheel and tyre were removed and not returned, despite clear instructions and fuel was missing, and the repair took 23 days instead of 7–10

Group 1 gave no apology, no solution, and #Mercedes-Benz’s Customer Service UK backed them. The whole experience has been escalated to the Motor Ombudsman and my insurance provider. For a brand that claims manufacturer-level service, this has been appalling.

Avoid.

computer says no

i dont know how they even get an average of 1.8. New car had a fault (april). Was told 6 weeks to get a part. Called yesterday (got an answer after 3 attempts) to see how it was going. Service center said 'it's on order' (which i knew weeks ago) but could not tell me when it would be here as 'system does not ahow that'. So asked can you make a call and find out (basic - right?) and was told 'system does not allow that'. Training must come from Little Britain. From buying, to after sales and service. This company is a joke.

MB needs an after sales customer service team

did not have a good experience when buying the £80K car which should have been a warning signal but within a month had a serious fault and the after sales service (or lack of) has been terrible. Passed from department to department with no one offering help. Quick to say sorry but you need to talk to dept x and then that dept saying sorry, you need to talk to the one that sent you here. I can understand that faults happen and that could be the same for any company but then how you deal with a customer is what sets company's apart. It's interesting to see so many negative reviews. Cannot be a one off can it?

I am scared to drive my car, Mercedes refuse to help

I honestly don’t know where to start here. I bought a brand new C-Class in August 2024. 2 weeks after I got the car it refused to start. A Mercedes Benz mobile technician was sent and managed to get the vehicle started (6 hour wait). The car flashes every single warning light, and plays a very annoying audible bong, until the battery runs out.
8 weeks later, same thing again, repeat process, car working again.
New Years Eve this time, same thing again, no mobile Mercedes techs available, so RAC are sent, can’t get it working so car is sent to MB Newcastle. They can’t find a fault, but have updated all the software so should all be fine now.
At this point I have lost all trust in the car, I have been waiting for 20+ hours for recovery, so I reject the vehicle with Mercedes Finance. After 8 weeks of waiting, they reject my rejection, because get this. Under UK consumers law they are allowed 1 attempt to fix the vehicle, which they have now done. Supposedly an authorised Mercedes Benz Technician sent by Mercedes Benz does not count as a repair.
Ok you win some, you lose some, but at least I have a working car, and I actually like the car.
15th March, car refuses to start again, I ring for recovery again(11.30am). They cannot get a technician to me until the following day. Andy the technician (really nice guy) who was the first person who ‘fixed’ the car back in August eventually gets my car started. He says to drive the car for a while to charge the battery. Which I do, 45 minutes later on a very busy A1 my car just dies doing 60mph. No power at all, no hazard warning lights, NO HANDBRAKE (it’s electric). I had to ring the police to get me off the road, I honestly thought I was going to die.
RAC eventually get me back to the dealer. I ring Mercedes Benz Finance to reopen my rejection (as it says to do at the bottom of their email)
I have now rang MB finance 12 times and each call has lasted no less than 35 minutes, all I get is sorry your case handler is on holiday, or I’m not a case handler. I have requested a call back from a team leader on 5 separate occasions, I have received no call backs.
On the 12th occasion I am told that they have not reopened my case yet, but she can’t do that because she isn’t a case handler. I request another callback (still waiting after 3 days)
Best thing the dealer cannot find anything wrong with the car, therefore they won’t give me a courtesy car, therefore I am forced to drive a car that nearly ended in my death.
It’s now 11 days since I tried to reopen my case, and I am still not aware if this has been done or not.
I’m paying a lot of money every month for a car that I am actually scared to drive.
Mercedes Benz Finance refuse to communicate with me.

I don’t know what to do, but in all of my 50 years of life, I have never dealt with a ‘customer facing’ department in Mercedes Benz Finance that is so inept, that they make mobile phone and energy companies customer service departments look like the best thing since sliced bread

Don’t accept your first quote

On28/02/2025 I took my Mercedes GLC into the Lincoln dealership to diagnose a fault on the parking sensors. After waiting an hour or so I was presented with an estimate of £576.00 to replace a damaged sensor in the front bumper. £413 labour £67.05 parts + vat £576. I was told it required the removal of the front bumper to replace the sensor, a further two hours work. I declined the estimate saying I would get other quotes, I then had to wait another hour for the bumper to be refitted? I was then given a bill for £155 + vat for the diagnosis, quickly changed to £77.50 + vat which had been quoted on the estimate.
Today I took my car to our local Mercedes specialist the sensor was changed with a genuine part and system checked in 15 minutes parts and labour £123.

Mercedes Colindale is a ripoff

Hello to everyone!

Don’t trust Mercedes dealer to service your vehicles! Why!? Please read more below!

Dear Complaints Team

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my experience with Mercedes-Benz of Colindale and the unresolved issue with my vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz C Class ().

In the summer of 2024, my vehicle developed a noise originating from the driver’s side wheel. In September, I brought the car in to Mercedes-Benz of Colindale in an attempt to identify and resolve the issue.

In late September, I was informed that the problem had been identified, and I was assured that it would be resolved with the replacement of a few parts. I gave my consent for the repairs, and on 2nd October, I received an invoice (document number – attached) for the sum of £1429.80, with the assurance that the issue had been fully addressed. Please note the invoice in question is in my partner’s name, in copy.

However, within just a few hours of collecting the vehicle, the noise reappeared. I immediately contacted Mercedes-Benz again to report the issue and was advised to bring the car back for further investigation. The vehicle was kept for an additional three weeks, yet the issue could not be identified. I was then told that the car required a more extensive investigation, which would involve the removal of key parts underneath the vehicle, with the potential for a bill running into the thousands.

I find this situation completely unacceptable. I feel that, had I been informed from the outset that the repair could be a phased process and that further investigation might be needed, I would have been in a position to make a more informed decision about authorising the initial repair. Instead, I was led to believe that the issue would be resolved with the repairs carried out in September and the sum of £1429.80 paid in good faith.

Furthermore, I am disappointed that a Mercedes-Benz dealership was unable to identify and resolve an issue with its own vehicle. While I understand that complex issues may arise, I strongly feel that the communication around this process was inadequate and that I was not provided with full transparency regarding the potential steps and costs involved in fully resolving the issue.

As the repair service provided did not meet the expected standards and failed to resolve the problem, I believe I have been misled regarding the nature and scope of the repairs, and the service I received did not deliver on the promised outcome.

Therefore, I am requesting a full refund of the £1429.80 paid for the repairs, as the service did not fulfill the expectations set at the time of payment.

I look forward to your prompt response and hope this matter can be resolved amicably. Should you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards

So, still nothing! We tried calling. Send email but no answer. Pass long time and it seems Mercedes Colindale trying to avoid this issue and hoping we just give up. I was researching about Mercedes and it seems every customers have similar issues around the UK. So, please find a proper garage who can fix the issues and please avoid Mercedes service altogether.

Thank you

Don’t get ripped off.

CEO Olivier Reppert fails in his management with such awfual after-sales service

After very terrible after-sales service experience Mercedes-Benz in Reading branch and feeling a need to write a review, am not surprised how poorly the review of this company has got as this company's service is just awful. The Branch Manager in Reading Ian Straw is in charge of after-sales service, and refused to repair under warranty for a car just purchased within six months, where the car had a shattered rear window on its own due to poor manufacturing quality. Many photos and video were provided to show that the car had the cracks on its own, without being smashed, not being hit & run, and not being crashed. The company just tried to get away and did not treat the customers fairly.
Rasied the complaint to the complaint department while you have to call everyday just to follow up, and the complaint process just did nothing. The CEO Olivier Reppert fails to his customers and fails to manage the company with such awful after-sales service. No trust can be placed on him, nor to this company.
