It should be called scam rental instead…

It should be called scam rental instead of sixt .Absolutely terrible experience. I was charged for a flat tire that was clearly defective, not something caused by driving. To make it worse, the car didn’t even have a spare tire in the trunk, which made the situation unsafe and completely unmanageable.
Instead of taking responsibility for providing a poorly maintained vehicle, the company blamed the customer and slapped on extra charges. No spare, no help, no accountability—just fees.
This is not how a professional car rental company should operate. If you value safety, fairness, and basic customer service, I strongly recommend renting elsewhere.

I rented a car from Sixt at the offsite…

I rented a car from Sixt at the offsite Pearson International Airport in Toronto. After returning the vehicle, I received a damage claim for a scratch on the rim that I formally dispute. Another customer’s Google review indicates he was charged for a similar scratch days before I rented the car. You can see that review below.

The amount claimed is based on a photo that Sixt sent to Doan Group in Georgia, USA. When I contacted Doan Group, they confirmed they do not operate in Canada and have no physical presence there. Therefore, the claim appears to be based solely on a remote photo appraisal rather than an in-person inspection. Multiple online reviews mention concerns about Doan Group’s appraisal process, raising questions about the reliability of such claims. I have included a link below to their reviews below.

In addition, when I returned the vehicle, Sixt tried to charge me for an extra rental day, even though I returned the car on time and spoke directly to an employee at the drop-off.

Despite repeated requests, Sixt has not provided time-stamped or independent proof that the damage occurred during my rental. They have also not provided information on who physically inspected the vehicle and completed the repair in Canada.

Like the other negative reviews left for Sixt in Toronto, I am sure this will receive a generic response telling me to contact their customer service. I have. I have calmly and respectfully asked for the proof I listed above and the responses I have received have been threatening and pressuring me to pay or they will send this to a collection agency.

Sixt's internal policies and terms do not override the requirement that a damage claim be supported by clear, objective proof.

I am writing this review to warn other customers about my experience. I would personally avoid renting from Sixt until their claims process is more transparent and less predatory.

Excellent customer service!

Excellent customer service!! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the front doors. Mo took care of me, he explain everything to me in details, and hook me up with the car I wanted. The service was quick, and the security deposit wasn't a ridiculous amount like most rental companies. I was treated with respect. By far the best car rental place I been in my entire life. 5 star service with luxurious vehicles.

SIXT - best prices, great selection of vehicles.

Among the best rental car companies I've ever rented from the city (in total about 14) and SIXT is by far one of the cheapest prices, for the premium vehicle that was originally upgraded from a sedan for a fraction of the price compared to other companies. To put it in perspective, it cost 2x less than renting a compact sedan from other companies for the same time period. (3 days)
