Terrible customer service and completely irresponsible behavior.

I had a confirmed car rental reservation through Expedia, and Sixt canceled it just TWO HOURS before pickup, leaving me without a car at the last minute. The cancellation was due to their own internal problem, not mine.

After canceling, they refused to take responsibility, refused to issue a refund, and completely stopped responding. No solution, no alternative car, no accountabilit, To make matters worse, when a representative called to cancel the reservation, the man on the phone was rude, disrespectful, and hung up on us multiple times when we tried to ask for an explanation or a solution.

This was not a no-show. The service was simply not provided, yet they kept the money. Canceling on customers at the last minute and then refusing to respond is unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable.

I strongly advise avoiding Sixt. If something goes wrong, they will not help you and will keep your money.

Check in was very easy

Check in was very easy, contract emailed to me after departure. Explained
To return with full fuel, I did not require instruction as to where to fill , I found my own gas station upon return. there was no one to greet and inspect the vehicle upon returning it outside. I just dropped my keys with the attendent, and the shuttle driver expedited me to the main terminal for my flight. Only until the next day was the vehicle inspected, and seems no damage and returned exactly as picked up. I would have liked someone to go over the vehicle with me

WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY

WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY — AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This company is deceptive and will charge your credit card without disclosing fees in advance. I was charged $1,260, which is more than double what I originally paid for the rental, with no prior warning or authorization.

When I called to ask why, I was told it was because I did not return the car to the same location where I picked it up. I rented the car at Calgary downtown and returned it at Calgary Airport — a 15-minute drive apart.

What makes this even worse is that I called the company BEFORE returning the car specifically to confirm that returning it at the airport was acceptable. At no point during that call was I informed that this would result in an additional fee, let alone a charge of this magnitude. When I returned the car at the counter, no employee mentioned any fee either.

Charging customers after the fact, without clear disclosure or consent, is unacceptable and unethical. It has now been over three weeks, and I am still waiting for a response or explanation from this company.

This experience has been extremely frustrating and stressful. I strongly advise anyone considering renting from this company to stay away unless you want surprise charges and zero accountability.

Talk to Omar and you will be in great hands

Go to this place. Find Omar who will help you out. We had a super bad experience with Routs and they are bunch of crooks. On Christmas Eve we would have been left stranded at Toronto airport without Mr. Omar at Sixt who bent over and beyond to understand us the customer and help out.

I was served by Rome, he showed me a safer and better option with winter tires and 4x4 to drive to the Okanagan!

Excellent pickup experience

Excellent pickup experience. Staff were brilliant even at 10pm.
Only issue is the distance from terminal to pickup office. It adds a bit of time to the whole process. The shuttle only runs during Office hours and as I have to leave the car back to catch an early flight at 4 pm in the morning I will have to get an Uber from the drop-off point to the actual terminal as there’s no other way, and it’s too far to walk.
