Impressed with service overall
First time using Sky Express, we were impressed with the service overall. Nice aircraft, complimentary drinks and snacks on board and decent hand luggage allowances. The only negative is the low weight limit for paid checked luggage (15kgs)
Absolute disaster flying with this…
Absolute disaster flying with this company. Besides long delays they also physically destroyed by luggage. The follow-up with customer service was abhorrent and although they eventually agreed to repay for the damage luggage, they never did. Stay away - saving a few extra bucks isn't worth a ruined vacation.
⭐️ 1 Star – If Chaos Had a Uniform, It Would Be the Sky Express Check-in Staff at Athens Airport
If there were an international award for the most unprofessional, untrained, and astonishingly unprepared check-in staff, Sky Express at Athens Airport would win it without competition.
Let me be absolutely clear:
This was not merely bad service. This was a near-textbook demonstration of operational failure.
1. Safety protocol? Apparently optional.
The staff checked in my luggage without asking any mandatory safety question—not even whether I had batteries inside.
This is not a small detail; it is a core aviation safety requirement worldwide.
The fact that I, the passenger, had to remind them of their own job should already be alarming.
2. Communication so poor it borders on performance art
When I informed them about the batteries, instead of correcting their mistake, the staff member:
• raised their voice,
• argued senselessly,
• and demonstrated a level of English so inadequate that discussing basic safety felt like negotiating a peace treaty through Google Translate set to the wrong language.
“Battery in the bag” somehow became an unsolvable riddle.
3. Logic that defies physics, aviation, and common sense
The staff insisted that because I had “already paid” for the bag, it must be checked in.
Not sure what universe they operate in, but in the actual world, airport security will simply reject a bag containing batteries and send it back. Meaning:
• their argument made no sense,
• their decision created more work for everyone,
• and they didn’t care as long as they “won” the argument.
It felt less like speaking to airline personnel and more like dealing with someone whose only training was “never admit mistakes.”
4. A suggestion Sky Express may want to consider
Given the complete disregard for safety procedure, the obvious lack of basic communication competence, and the openly hostile attitude, Sky Express might want to consider reassigning this staff member to a role more compatible with their demonstrated skill set—
perhaps something involving repetitive manual tasks in a kitchen, where failure doesn’t endanger passengers.
5. Final verdict
This was one of the most dysfunctional, illogical, and needlessly hostile service experiences I’ve ever witnessed in global air travel.
If Sky Express wants to be taken seriously as an airline, they need to overhaul:
• staff training
• safety compliance
• communication standards
• and the entire customer-service culture
Because what I experienced at Athens Airport was not an airline operation.
It was a safety hazard with a boarding pass printer.
One star is extremely generous. If negative stars were possible, this incident would qualify.
They dont let me board the airplane…
They dont let me board the airplane because Im mexican and they overbooking. DONT live a nightmare and avoid this fraud company.
Worried after reading the reviews, but it was good
I was a bit worried catching my flight from Athens to London Gatwick after reading the reviews on this site. However, the flight was great, on time and with comfortable seats and a complimentary drink.
Everything is wrong with this airline
Everything is wrong with this airline. They changed the take off time of my flight 10 times in one month leading up to the trip.
Rudeness of the flight assistants is legendary. Smiles are fake, words are wrong.
Avoid if you can.
Extremely rude employees
Extremely rude, unhelpful employees with zero english skills, the plane was dirty and smelly :(
They have the worst's check in page I…
They have the worst's check in page I ever seen. Terrible experience
Got assaulted by cabin crew!
Not safe and got assaulted by cabin crew. Never again will I book with them. First and last time!
Missed flight and no customer service
Arrived Athens Airport 1hr45 before flight. Check in queue was a joke. Passport queue was even worse. We pushed in there passport queue, staff telling us it would be fine, we will make the flight. Ran to flight after security. Gate had closed, no sky express staff to speak to. Returning to ticket office at departures they would not book us onto the next days flight unless paying the full amount. We were explicitly told by a sky express employee at check in that we would be ok for the flight and we were lied to. If you must fly from Athens, use easy jet who use a different departure area with less queues and don't have incompetent staff who like to you, but better not to fly from Athens at all.
Avoid if you can
Avoid if you can. I've always faced delays (last time I traveled was between Zakynthos and Kefallonia, a 20' island hop flight had a near 2 hour delay), the aircraft interior was filthy (there was a used Starbucks cup forgotten in the net on back of the seat in front of me) and the crew couldn't even bother to apologize for the inconvenience. A/C was not working well and we're talking Greece in the middle of the summer. Felt more like a cattle truck than a flight.
Absolutely Awful Airline – Negligent and Unaccountable
SkyExpress is by far the worst airline I have ever dealt with. After a recent flight, my hard-shell Rimowa suitcase was returned to me cracked, dented, and with a broken lock — clear signs of severe mishandling.
I filed a report at the airport immediately and submitted all required documents, including photos and the purchase receipt (€910). Their response? They called this “minor damage.” A cracked, broken suitcase is not minor damage, yet they’ve refused to take responsibility or offer any compensation.
Since then, I’ve followed up multiple times and received no response whatsoever. This airline shows a complete lack of accountability, professionalism, or basic customer service.
If you value your belongings or expect any form of responsibility from an airline, avoid SkyExpress at all costs.
I was a passenger on SKY express flight…
I was a passenger on SKY express flight GQ 784 (Athens → Tbilisi, Oct 8 2025) and had one of the worst customer-service experiences I’ve ever seen.
At the airport check-in, the airline’s employee refused to process my boarding unless I purchased travel insurance, even though such insurance is not mandatory for trips to Georgia. I was pressured into paying for something I didn’t need.
When I filed a complaint, SKY express replied that they “don’t provide this service” and told me to contact another company — an unbelievable excuse.
This situation shows a serious lack of professionalism and customer respect. Still waiting for a proper answer and refund.
Terrible experience
Terrible experience. Boarded a flight from Milos to Athens on a Saturday. Wasn't an overly windy day and there were 4 flights leaving for the day from the airport. Our flight had about 30 people on it. Arrived in Athens with about 5 passengers bags had arrived. We were than told that the airline decided to leave everyone else's bags in Milos due to wind and the plane being too heavy. Avoid at all costs if you want to have a stress free experience.
The gouge you every chance they can
The gouge you every chance they can! Thry misspelled my name on my ticket and said they can't correct it and said I cannot fly unless my passport name was an exact match. So I had to cancel the ticket and thry only gave me a 60% credit. I'm a Jr and thry out that as my last name. Sky Express is a horrible airline. Theybwont even correct their own mistakes.
Not satisfied with flight-attendants
It was the first time for me visiting Greece and flying with the airline SKY express. On the return flight from Athens to Rome, the hostesses were very rude, treated passangers like cattle and lecked in empathy. Example: A 3-4 years old child needed urgently to go to the toilet - the plane already landed, but waiting to park properly- she couldn't hold it anymore, nonetheless, they didn't allow a small child to use the toilet. What a scene, quite a nonsense, full leck of situational understanding. I would suggest a re-training. Flight GQ822.
NO STAR ! Disgusting airline worst in the world never fly with them!!!!
NO STAR ! The Worst Airline Experience of My Life
Absolutely disgusted with Sky Express. This has been the most incompetent and careless airline experience I have ever encountered.
On October 10, 2025 (flight GQ430, Athens → Skiathos), Sky Express lost my luggage, which contained everything for my godchild’s baptism — including the boubounieres (favors), the baby’s baptism clothes, blessed oil, and all my personal belongings.
Their ground staff in Skiathos simply shrugged and told me, “You’ll get it tomorrow.” It’s now DAY 3 — still no luggage. Because of their failure, the entire baptism had to be canceled, an event planned for months with hundreds of guests traveling from all over Greece and abroad.
To make things even worse, today I was told my luggage was “found somewhere” and might arrive tomorrow — but my return flight was scheduled for tomorrow morning. I was forced to rebook and extend my stay at my own expense, just to wait for the bag that Sky Express lost.
No one from this airline has taken responsibility. No replies to emails. No updates. No apology. Nothing. I have had to buy clothes, essentials, and rearrange travel plans — all because of their negligence and total lack of customer service.
Sky Express should be ashamed of how they treat their passengers. The stress, cost, and emotional impact they’ve caused are unforgivable.
If you value your time, money, or sanity — do not fly with Sky Express. Truly the worst airline experience I’ve ever had.
Sky Express
Sky Express – a masterclass in greed and passenger neglect.
Despite having a valid ticket and arriving on time, I was left “on hold” for hours – meaning no confirmed seat, even though the airline still sells the same flight online. Staff admitted eight seats were available during check-in, yet kept passengers waiting anxiously, hoping to resell seats at higher prices.
They refused to provide written proof that I did not volunteer to give up my seat, leaving passengers legally unprotected.
Agents kept insisting rerouting was “only possible tomorrow,” which is a direct violation of EU Regulation 261/2004, requiring rerouting on the next available flight, even with another airline.
No apology. No empathy. Just cynical profit tactics, misinformation, and complete disregard for passengers.
This airline abuses overbooking rules, disrespects EU law, and treats paying passengers as disposable. Absolutely unacceptable – never again.
Sky Express Business Class
Sky Express Business Class - more Abyss than Bliss:
1. Very cramped economy seat with an unused seat in the middle. My knees crammed against the seat in front of me.
2. Very poor value for money. Paid £300 from London to Athens. Had a glass of champagne (served warm) as an aperitif and a glass of white wine with my main course. When I asked for a glass of red wine to accompany my dessert, I was astonished to be told I was only allowed 2 complimentary drinks. Penny pinching at best, inferior service at worst.
3. The flight was delayed by 40 minutes. Granted due to ATC strike, so not the airlines fault. However a responsible and pro-active airline would have informed the passenger's that this was due to a general strike in Greece and that there would be no taxis or metro operating at Athens airport. We could then have organised our transit in Athens in advance, from the apron in London. Instead utter chaos greeted us at Athens airport and it took us 3 hours to get to our hotel.
We will not be travelling with Sky Express again.
We flew from Milos to Athens and they brought no ones bags!
We flew from Milos to Athens - when we arrived we were told that none of the bags were brought. none.... all were left behind..
supposedly they do this when weight is a concern, just leave everyones bags behind.
been following up since and no update on location of our bag a day later.
we had to catch a connecting flight back to Dublin. in the Athens airport we were just told when it is sent to Athens they will send it on a flight to dublin and i have to go to Dublin airport and " find it there" unreal
avoid at all costs
