address fragment

Although I put all the mailing information in the form, the unit number wasn't included when I tracked it. I contacted the Smallable customer service but it never got fixed. So I contacted the mailing company and finally was able to inform my correct address. It was a bit stressful.

Deceptive advertising

I love what I bought. It came fast. I feel like they buried the lead in advertising. I was charged an additional $50 for the tariffs after paying shipping. And you can’t really let it get sent back because they’ll charge you the return. I got 3 tshirts that ended up costing over $100 each. Not happy about it at all. This should be better explained when you purchase. It was deceitful. I won’t buy again.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Paid £75 for 2 items. Was aware there would be a customs charge, however courier was trying to charge me £2018 customs charges. I contacted the company who said it was a system error with dpd and would be sorted within a few hours. It wasn't. I was getting daily requests for these custom charges. So I had to advise dpd to return to seller. I have emailed them 6 times, contacted on Instagram (which they have seen) and called with no reply. This is theft. I will be contacting the ombudsman regarding this.

In some recent cases, a technical error on the invoices sent to the carrier unfortunately could have led to abnormally high customs fees. We have since corrected this error and are notifying the carrier to correct these situations.

If you live outside France, Don't order!

If you live outside France, don't order from them! I ordered 2 x washing up brushes and paid about £12 delivery. The handles arrived a few days later with no brushes. When checking their website, the brushes were extra! Ordered the brushes for the handles, paid another £12 for delivery. About a week later I got an email from Chronopost (DPD France) asking for £2,000 in customs charges. I assumed this was a scam as Smallable say on their website and order confirmation to be aware of scams. A few days later my Smallable account says this order has been cancelled! I can't seem to get a refund either as their website is very difficult to navigate. Order no.14332939

Unexpected High Import Fees

I really loved the website and the products offered. However, when ordering to the U.S., I was quite shocked and disappointed by the final costs. The website briefly mentioned that tariffs might apply, but it did not provide any estimate or percentage of what those charges could be.

I ended up having to pay over 40% of the total value of my purchase in tariffs and customs fees, which was completely unexpected. While I understand that import duties can apply, customers should be given at least an approximate range before placing an order so they can make an informed decision.

Unfortunately, even though I liked the website, I would not order again unless the final total price — including duties and fees — is clearly communicated upfront. If I had refused to pay customs, my order would not have been delivered nor returned to the company, and returning the items would not have refunded the 40% in tariffs charged by DHL.

I strongly recommend that the company provide customers with an estimated customs cost before checkout to avoid surprises like this one.

Great experience

I was surprised to find the item I was searching for on Smallable, as I did not know they sold items by the brand. The item was on sale AND there was an extra discount, which made it cheaper than on the brands own site.
I was also surprised by how quickly I received the order.
I will definitely shop at Smallable again.
