This is a great app and works really well

Once you get your picture right, it's a very smooth and struggling experience.
But what a pita to get the photo straight! The photo preview shown is clearly not the one that gets verified. The one you get a preview of has background details wiped off by AI (I guess), not the one that gets verified. It took me at least 10 photos to finally get one that was validated. Frustrating.

Both mine and my wife's photos were submitted and rejected by NZ passport office Waste of money should have gone down to the local chemist and had them do them.

I needed an ePhoto with a 22-alpha-numeric digit and signature to apply to renew my French residence visas. During the process I checked the wrong document – a resident visa rather than a Titre de séjour. I contacted Smartphone-id and they very kindly and generously gave me a discount on my new request for the Titre de séjour and I immediately got the photo that I needed to complete my application. They used English in the email exchange which made it easier for me since I'm just learning French. I highly recommend Smartphone iD for your photo needs for French documents.

Produced the perfect passport photo, several attempts refused. Accepted by passport providers. Easy peasy.

The photo was not accepted by our government ID issuer. Contacted the company as they state that they willprovide a refund in this instance, however have not heard from them. Money wasted in my opinion.

So far so good. App works well and all seems good. However, this review is being left before I have heard from the visa authorities whether the e-code is valid and compliant with their requirements. I will add an update in due course.

The service was quick and easy to use. I took 2 photos as the first was rejected by the Smartphone app as my eyes were not visible enough. The second photo passed the app checks, but was then rejected by the AI checks of the passport service due to it being the wrong colour- too bright or my face too red or something… so I went to a physical shop and got a photo taken there instead which was of much higher quality and passed the checks. So i wasted 5€ on 2 photos via this app for nothing!

Service was 100%. Very friendly and good communication. They even refunded my money when the photo didn't meet passport requirements. Thank you Fouléyé for the great service.

Was great. Soon sorted and now just awaiting delivery of my passport. Much easier doing it digitally even for an older person like me.

I have used Smartphone ID on my iPhone multiple times for providing an e-photo in France for my annual residence application, my drivers license, and my health card. It usually takes 3-4 attempts to get my photo submitted as successful to Smartphone ID. Once the preliminary step has passed, I’ve been notified by them via email to re-take it as it still appears that it might not be accepted by France. I’m glad they are so careful and it is so easy to retake my photos at home. So far, neither my photos nor my husband’s photos have been rejected by France so that’s an absolute win for us!!

One star is too much! Absolute nightmare of an experience - 7 days of photo after photo being rejected - of course AFTER they had my money! I finally got a picture approved, however, it looks nothing like the face I present to the public because they insisted on so many changes to my appearance, therefore I am not using it. In the end I did what I should have done in the beginning ... I used my own phone camera, took a jpeg, cropped and submitted it with all my facial features as they appear in real life - guess what? It was accepted as my ID for my card AND I'm happier that whoever is viewing it will actually recognise it is me! Keep my €4.99 Smarty ID, but I won't be returning.

Nothing but issues with automated msgs yelling us to fix things that cant be fixed.
For example, the gaze wasnt straight enough.
A bit difficult to achieve if one eye is always wayward and unfixable.
I asked for a refund and was denied based on the fact that I had paid for them to check it, not provide it.
Went to Max Speilman. No problem with their pic even though it essentially looked the same!
This app just was not worth the bother it caused. It delayed the process, meant I had to go elsewhere anyway and it cost me money.
Edited to add that the reply to this review from the business clearly shows they didnt even really read my review.
I had already contacted them about it and was fobbed off with the old... Do this do that, take another pic, you paid for us to review... A pointles waste of time if you are not already picture perfect.
Outside of a refund, there isn't any point in conversing is there. I got the neccesary photoes elsewhere without any bother, so reiterating the problem to them again is utterly pointles.
Take note people.
You dont pay for the picture. You pay for them to review it.
If they reject and their automated system keeps telling you its not good enough, be it because you have a lazy eye or need a hair clip for a fringe, thats going to be on you, not them.

I love that this app/website is available, makes its easy to do from the comfort of your home. My only feedback is to have exact reference as to "where " to take your picture and a picture reference as it took a few good tries.

Easy to use app. Quick response. Would likely use it again and will highly recommend it.

What a great relief that application makes me. It never failed with me a single time to provide a reliable and conforming photo to different authorities. Driving license, residency permit... etc all good. And most important they are patient to review the photo through their experts, reply to you in short time & show you in a professional way how to correct your photo shooting. Highly recommended.
