I never write reviews, but this situation really upset me.
I’m a student and only needed this service for one month.
Due to my limited English, I accidentally purchased the yearly subscription instead of the monthly plan.
I contacted support immediately to explain the situation and asked for a refund of the difference, but they refused – even though I explained everything clearly.
As a student from a European country, this charge financially affected me a lot.
Their response was disappointing and showed no flexibility.
The tool itself is average at best, and this whole experience left a bad impression.
Not the way paying users should be treated when it’s an obvious and honest mistake.

Unethical Practices and Misleading Payment System – Definitely Not Recommended!
I decided to try the Smodin service because it initially appeared to be a reliable platform offering a free trial period. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a completely misleading and untrustworthy service that unethically takes money from customers.
After registering, the system directed me to a payment platform. I believed that this was merely the beginning of a free trial period, with the option to cancel before any payment was charged. To my shock, however, my account was immediately debited for an entire year’s subscription – despite the website misleadingly displaying it as a monthly payment.
At first, my money was refunded, but the very next day, Smodin withdrew it again, which makes absolutely no sense to me. This process is completely non-transparent and feels like a scam.
To make matters worse, the service itself is of extremely poor quality. The text it generates is comparable to something written by an eight-year-old child – completely unusable. I expected at least a basic level of quality, but what Smodin offers is a total disaster.
When I reached out to customer support to resolve my issue, I was informed that their terms do not allow any complaints, refunds, or contract cancellations. I am unsure whether this practice is even legal, especially for customers in the EU.
In addition when I provided examples of other users who had similar experiences and received refunds, their support team simply stopped responding.
Overall, I find Smodin to be an extremely untrustworthy company whose practices border on fraudulent. Their product is of very poor quality, and their payment system is deceptive. If you don’t want to waste your money and time, avoid this service at all costs. I do not recommend it to anyone!

It's a complete scam
It's a complete scam, don't make my mistake. After a 24h trial (not specified that it only lasted one day) they deducted $29 from me, the real problem is that none of their tools really work, but even though I showed them that it didn't work they don't want to issue any refunds, for me it's a 100% scam.
My text had an AI detection of 44%, after using their tool to avoid the AI detection the result was 55%.
After contacting support they told me to try to have it further processed by the tool, this time I got 60% AI detection. After that they asked me to make another attempt using their translator and this resulted in 66% AI detection, in short an absolute disaster.
But given the fraudulence of the sales and support process I don't think it's just a lousy tool but a full-blown scam.

I have been Scammed out of my money!!
I have been scammed out of my money. I wanted to try Smodin for a month because it was clearly stated that the first month is free and that the subscription can be canceled at any time. However, what you did directly contradicts your own terms.
You charged me after I canceled my subscription, which, as it turns out, could not actually be canceled, despite your claims. This is a clear violation of your own policies.
I have all the necessary evidence, and this issue will be made public and reported to the authorities.

TALK ABOUT SCAMMING PEOPLE WITHOUT FULL DISCLOSURE
So i needed some help with my paper and i thought well why not have some help with grammar and streamlining my writing hence me falling for this app. The price at the time of purchase was not what i was billed for while i was hoping to just try a month they billed me for a year with no prior disclosure. This platform is not honest with their customers. Please be careful. I paid for a 79dkk bill, that apparently turned out to be 950dkk instead.
In no way was it shown that, the bill would be that expensive.
And upon contacting customer service, no help was provided, and they refused to give me a refund. This is unacceptable.
So, be careful what you pay for, since they are in no way transparent with their customers on the amount that they’re charging them.

Recreator not good
I have been using the Smodin paraphraser for years. I was very happy. The text was changed perfectly and the plagiarism report was extremely low.That according the Turnitin, the only 100% reliable plagiarism tool, at least for academics (students, teachers, researchers).
The past year, things are changed. The rewrite tool is useless 95% (only 10 in 500 words are chaged). The recreator tool (the one i was satisfied with) it turned half useless, too. It changes only few words (some of them may have been shown as changed but are still the same). The recreated text now cant go through Turnitin because the plagiarism is high. The plagiarism detection tool is not to be trusted too, because it says 8% but in reality it is 38 to 48% according to Turnitin. So, you have to do most of the work yourself, even though you pay money for the job (i personally pay circa 35 dollars monthly). And there is the fear to be caught plagiarized from your university, your firm or wherever you sent your text and they use Turnitin or another reliable plagiarism tool. They need to fix it promptly.
Other tools like Rephrasely or Editpad that i checked (by paying) are the same, not good for the work. Does anyone know any reliable tool?
