Very glad I got in touch with Philip to undertake a snagging survey on a new build we're in the process of buying. He was friendly and accommodating in liaising with the developer/estate agent and myself, and completed the survey and sent over results within an incredibly short timeframe.

The survey itself was beyond detailed, listing out every fault with a clear, high-resolution image (complete with arrows and circling to certain aspects where relevant), as well as a thorough description & recommendation as to how to resolve the issue.

Numerous building regulation breaches were picked up which, although only constituting a handful of the 130+ issues, are critical elements that more than make the survey worth it to get resolved in and of themselves. Philip also kindly offered his general opinion as to the condition and workmanship-standard on the property - giving me much more reassurance as to how to handle this with the developer going forwards.

Wouldn't even hesitate to use this service again, it's absolutely well worth the money spent!

Prior to completion of my new build, I decided to engage SnagTheHouse.com to at least give me peace of mind, if nothing else, as I expected my new home to be finished to a high standard, like that of the show home I had viewed.

I am so glad I did as Philip and his partner identified over 450 snags during the five hours they were at my home. Whilst some were minor cosmetic issues caused due to lack of care and preparation, there were also more serious defects identified which gave cause for concern.

Each snag was photographed alongside written details of the fault and a suggestion of what action the builders needed to take to rectify the many issues detailed within the 115 page report.

Having someone with an extensive knowledge of the industry is vital. Philip identified a number of issues which weren’t obvious to someone like myself and whilst quoting industry standards he is also well aware of acceptable ranges.

Philip was very professional and helpful from the beginning to the end of the snagging process. He didn't seem to be in a rush when examining my new build house. Found snags that I would never have even known about (roof, loft issues etc). The report was very comprehensive with photos of each defect which was helpful when I chased for the issues to be made good. Very competitive price too!

I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is purchasing a new build property. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Philip who has extensive experience in the industry and is therefore able to identity all issues and more importantly advise what needs to be done by the developer to rectify them. Don’t be persuaded by the developer to “save your money” and compile the snag list yourself as you will most likely only identify minor cosmetic issues when more fundamental issues could be present. When taking into account the premium you pay for a new build and the cost of the survey, it really is a money very well spent and gives you the reassurance that you will receive the quality of product you have paid for.

They snagged my daughter's house (new build).
They did a fantastic job finding over 120 snags!!! All the snags have now been addressed by the building company. Not knowing all the issues it could have been a problem as you only have 7 days to list all the faults. If we hadn't used Snag The House my daughter and myself would not have found a large number of items on the list.

Firstly, we cannot thank Snagthehouse.com enough for their services. As first time buyers, purchasing our home was completely new, daunting and neither of us work in the industry so our knowledge was extremely minimal! From initially booking the appointment, to the visits, advice, care and attention, the service we received was amazing. Polite, attentive and couldn't have done anything more for us. Our snagger must have spent 10-12 hours during two visits, which was only because our move in was pushed back and he was willing to visit after we'd moved in. This enabled all of the additional snags which couldn't have been picked up on previously (e.g on the first visit, the carpets weren't fitted). The fire separation, fire doors and insulation checks were all items we knew nothing about, were unable to check ourselves and gave us ultimate piece of mind. A total of 114 snags, mainly decoration, but also issues relating to fire regulations (gap in doors) and also NHBC regulation comments (ventilation not correctly installed) were included and passed on to the house builder. The report received was comprehensive (30 pages) and professional, with images of every issue, an explanation (easy enough for us to understand as well) together with columns for reporting & completion dates. I whole heartedly recommend this company to anyone and everyone who purchases a new build home. It was well worth paying for to not only get our house looking perfect but also to ensure those aspects we can't see nor check, were in order.
