Dynamic Duo wins again

Did you google the company after receiving a letter from its liquidators? The letter including names and addresses of 200+ people - including yourself - owed money by the company? It is reassuring to know that Mr and Mrs Benfield have the cash to employ the services of Clark Business Recovery Ltd. The attached financial statements suggest that any recovery is unlikely. What could potentially be useful is (a) asking the liquidator (there is an email in the letter, on page 3) if they plan to investigate wrongdoing by the directors, (b) if you feel that is appropriate - I certainly do - reporting fraud on the Met's web site. Clark Business Recovery Ltd themselves fully deserve a complaint to the Information Commissioner for inappropriately sharing personal data. This actually may sting - although any discomfort, I am sure, will be outweighed by fees received from the Benfields.

Sharp practice

This company fails to pay its venues, performers or suppliers. Caveat emptor! Google 'the stage' + 'family christmas show leaves performers chasing thousands in unpaid wages' to read about the actors who've been left thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Gone into liquidation

This company has gone into liquidation. I received my paperwork today.
My bank has refunded me the money owed (via chargeback I think, I paid on debit card) pending an investigation but now they’ve gone bust I’m not sure if this will still stand as I’m listed as a creditor.
There’s a deadline for chargeback by your bank. Mine is 3 months from the cancellation (due to storms) so be quick if you want to try this.

WARNING re SNEAKY EXPERIENCE & Julia and Andrew BENFIELD

Do not have anything to do with this scam company, CURIOUS YELLOW EVENTS LTD trading as SNEAKY EXPERIENCE, or the Benfields, JULIA and ANDREW BENFIELD, who run it. We are an artists' agency who had a client working for them in their Christmas 2024 entertainment in Liverpool. They have not honoured their contract to pay our client who is owed over £2,000. Many, perhaps all, the contracted artists who worked for this company and the Benfields in Liverpool and in other venues this Christmas have yet to be paid despite empty promises. The current position is that the outfit has been served with Letters before Action and the actors' trade union, Equity, is preparing to sue if payments are not made to their members. Needless to say, the Benfields have cut off all communications. Enquiries at Companies House indicate that these folk have form. Potential venues, artists and ticket buyers are seriously warned against them. Rumour is that they are starting to recruit for events in 2025 and later, so councils and local press should be on the lookout. It would also be helpful if the press could track down these people who refuse to communicate. I'm sure Equity would love to know where they are hiding.

Absolutely horrendous experience

Absolutely horrendous experience - this company owes me £145.50 after cancelling the Xmas experience at Eltham Palace in December 2024 on the day. They have ignored any communication and request for refund and are an absolutely horrendous scam and company. The telephone number they provided is not answered - and clearly a facade for a scam 07918940540. If I could rate 0 this would even be generous. Stay away, do not book anything with this company - or any of its associated companies.

Cancelled Christmas event and promised a refund. After countless emails and no communication I finally recieved an email from Julia Benfield (after English Heritage events team stepping in and pushing for me) she stated in mid January that a refund had been issued... no refund arrived.
Now avoids all communication and not able to comment through Facebook posts.
They are not sneaky experience they are sneaky thieves!!
Also linked to Curious Yellow Events according to their promised refund email.

We have taken my son to these the past…

We have taken my son to these the past few years and had booked for Liverpool on 22/12/24. We had booked for 11:45 and therefore had to set off from Manchester early doors. We were called at the booked time to advise they had to cancel at that time and that they would be able to fit us in later. They advised that we could come at 5pm. I stated I was not waiting in Liverpool for 5 hours with my 5 year old and they advised that I could have a refund. I still haven’t received this. I have emailed back to my original booking emails. Contacted on Facebook and via their contact us page on the website.

Steer Clear - breech of contract then radio silence

The company cancelled their event. To be fair it was due to poor weather and they have then advised myself, and my sister-in-law, that they would refund the cost of our tickets in thirty days.

They have NOT refunded either of us.

They refuse to answer any communication. I have reported them to trading standards and I have sent them a breech of contract and still there is no response.

They have turned off notifications on their social media but it is full of angry faces.

I would not use this company.
