Solar Armour Limited 

Spending 10’s of thousands of pounds on solar is a massive concern especially as there are a lot of cowboys out there in this space. Fear not with Solar Armour although the first install has had its problems they have not abandoned me as was my concern but have been helpful and supportive through the issues I have had and now it works as designed.

From initial visit of a surveyor ( some companies wanted to just do everything over the phone ) through to completion , these guys were professional and extremely helpful . Advising on best solutions , answering any queries , keeping me up to date with the progress of the order , taking on my request for additional work mid job , everything was straight forward and i would recommend this company !

I sincerely wished I had engaged Solar Armour from the outset as the level of service , expertise and professionalism has been exceptional. Lewis was attentive and determined to find a solution that offered the best outcome at a price that returned the investment within a reasonable time frame. Mark and his team of installers were extremely professional , conscientious , clearly experienced an excellent job from start to finish. Their attention to detail was exceptional and they were genuinely invested in doing absolute best job possible. i highly recommend using Solar Armour!

I had already looked at 5 other possible suppliers when Solar Armour were recommended to me by a colleague. I was immediately impressed by Lewis who was able to answer all my questions and allay all of my concerns. I was equally impressed by Mark the installer from the first visit to survey the house. I found Solar Armour to be very professional and committed to customer service. Amy kept me updated with e-mails as the installation date approached. There were a couple of small issues during the install but these were dealt with quickly and effectively. My system of 10 panels, inverter and 5.2KWhr battery have been working very well from day 1. I would be happy to recommend them to friends, neighbours and family.

I feel compelled to share my frustrating experience with Solar Armour, the solar system installation company I chose back in July 2022. At the time of purchase, they assured me of a manufacturer warranty and the support of HIES (Home Insulation & Energy Systems) for added peace of mind. Unfortunately, none of these promises has held true, leaving me utterly disappointed.

The ordeal began on February 2nd, 2023, when the inverter from Sofar company, installed by Solar Armour, suddenly stopped working. Since then, I have been relentlessly chasing Solar Armour to fulfill their responsibility and replace the faulty inverter. Despite numerous calls, emails, and follow-ups, I have received nothing but empty promises and evasive responses.

To my dismay, even the HIES, which was supposed to provide assistance and support, has proven unhelpful in resolving the issue. Their lack of response and unwillingness to address my concerns have left me feeling abandoned and frustrated.

Regrettably, I am now left with no choice but to escalate the matter to the Ombudsman, hoping for a fair resolution. It deeply saddens me that what was supposed to be a reliable and trustworthy solar installation has turned into a nightmare of broken promises and unresponsive customer service.

I share this review as a cautionary tale to others considering Solar Armour for their solar system needs. Proceed with caution and be wary of the false assurances they make regarding warranties and support. My hope is that my experience will serve as a wake-up call for Solar Armour to rectify their shortcomings and prioritize customer satisfaction.

From working with us on the design of the system, through installation and after care including certification with the energy suppliers our experience of working with Solar Armour was exceptional. Lewis and Amy (our main contacts) were always very professional, available at any time to answer any questions we had. The installation itself went without a hitch, panels, battery storage, and commissioning all completed in one day. Overall, an excellent service, I would strongly recommended Solar Armour if you’re considering a solar system.

We decided to go for solar panels and are very pleased to have done so. A new venture for us so it was great to find we had used a company that were there to support us every step of the way. Everything was explained so we knew what to expect, the name of the scaffold company, when they would arrive, who was delivering what and when and most importantly who was going to erect and roughly how long it would take. Also we had a contact in the office who knew the job and could deal with most question. We never got fobbed off and if we left a message we always got a call back. Our contact, Lewis dealt with paperwork relating to connecting to the grid and helped with matters relating to us selling power to our supplier.

With the price of energy going up and up, I was determined to invest in the latest technology that would give me a reasonable financial payback as well as improving my "green" credentials ! I spoke to many firms but never felt confident enough about entering into a transaction with them.
I am really pleased that I found Solar Armour.....After making my initial enquiry for a battery storage solution which would enable to me to purchase and store my electricity from Octopus Energy using a cheap time of use tariff ( as well as charge my electric car), Amy immediately scheduled for Daniel to come out to visit me and discuss my needs the next day. He was professional and inspired confidence, recommending a couple of batteries and an inverter from Givenergy.
After agreeing a price and despite this equipment being in short supply, Solar Armour showed up on the nominated day with everything needed for the job.
I am very satisfied with the installation of this equipment and I have immediately started saving money on my home electricity. Between Mark and Darryl, they did an excellent job of finding the best cable run to my Consumer Unit, fitting all this equipment very neatly, and then getting everything working. I even had an Emergency Power Supply fitted from the batteries in case of a power cut. Throughout the whole transaction, the owner of Solar Armour, Lewis Westney, acted in an honourable way , and I thoroughly recommend using Solar Armour 😀
