I have to same I am thoroughly impressed by the SolarSesame team. I have had multiple presentations (been interested in solar for awhile now) but was pleasantly surprised with their no pressure approach. Actually felt like they cared about me and what they do, not just trying to get me to sign to make some money. Glad I waited till I met them. Great company to do business with all around!

If you are considering a Solar System, take my advise and avoid SolarSesame like the plague.
TLDR: STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THAT OUTRIGHT LIES TO YOU ABOUT WHAT THEY HAVE IN STOCK AND HAS A VERY RUDE SALES MANAGER.
For your reading pleasure:
It all started when I received a sales call from SolarSesame on October 8th 2024. Totally my fault. here. I should have taken the first warning that the "sales rep" was from someone located in the Philippines, I could hear the roosters and all. So I thought to myself, since i was already shopping for solar, I might as well see what they had to offer since they did say they had Two Tesla Power Wall 3s in their warehouse and that's what I wanted. I didn't believe that they had it but I entertained their offer to me just to see what would happen.
So I provide my information and send along my PG&E usage etc., par for the course. The next day Oct 10, 2024, a sales person named Preslav arrived at my door. First thing he said to me, he says, "well do you want solar or not?" I bit puzzled, I welcomed him in to my house and he proceeds to go through the details. All on a piece of paper. I asked about the Tesla batteries and he guaranteed that he had two in stock, in his warehouse but I had to sign the deal that day.
I proceed to ask him about California rebates such as the SGIP program and Property Tax assessments to which he had absolutely no clue about. He had to call his "District Manager" named Dennis who apparently lives in Florida. So we got Dennis on the phone and apparently, this so called District Manager doesn't know either and kept telling me that the SGIP program is for low income homes. This is not true. I told him that wasn't the case and he proceeded to cut me off and say, "look, I'm working on 5000 contracts and you can't expect me to remember all these small California rebates. If you lose your attitude, I may have given you a better deal" and hung up. I'm shocked at this moment so I end the call.
All he had to do was google it instead of being a know it all. A quick google search and you'll learn that Any residential customer of PG&E
is eligible for a General Market SGIP rebate of approximately 25% of the cost of an average energy storage system
Minutes later, I get a call from the owner of SolarSesame named Manan. He apologizes and gives me the whole speech about how sorry he is and he's going to talk to Dennis, blah blah blah.
So, I told Manan, I'd work with him on this project but he would need to assure me that he did indeed have the Tesla Power Wall 3 On Hand. Manan assured me and promised me that he had two in his warehouse and that he was saving me one. All I needed to do was sign the contract and pay the $1000 deposit.
I told him I'm ready to sign but I had a few more questions. (See Screenshots of my text message exchange with Manan). I asked him if he had a physical office in San Mateo and whether or not his crew was indeed his team and not sub contractors. He did tell me that he does have an office at 400 Concar Drive San Mateo CA 94402 but note, this is a WeWork space, it is not their own office. He never answered me about his installers and whether or not they are in house or sub contractors. Instead, he replies with this:
"Hi Rich, I just checked with our warehouse team regarding the Powerwall, and it turns out that we had to allocate the last available unit to an existing customer who needed an extra one for their installation. As a policy, we need to prioritize fulfilling commitments to our current customers. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Perhaps I asked too many questions and he couldn't answer them so that scared him off from doing business with me? I guess I'll never know.
But remember, didn't Manan say he had two Powerwall 3s on hand? (See text screenshot).
I did ask but never got a response from Manan. That goes to show, something is definitely fishy with this company.
Many red flags. I should have known and I totally accept responsibility but glad I had this exchange with this shady company because now I'm a bit more educated and know what to look for. And, just to add, he was selling me some solar panels that are supposedly discontinued. I asked him about it but he insisted that they are not. I did look into it and they are in fact, discontinued. Lie after lie. Absolutely unbelievable.
Stay away from this company. In the end, you get what you pay for and when dealing with Solar it s a big investment for the next 25 years so it's best to just pay a little more to a company that knows what they are talking about, well educated about all the California Rebates and a company that won't sell you wolf tickets.
Dealing with SolarSesame has been a complete waste of time for me but I've learned a great deal from this experience. Just my 2 cents and had to share my experience.
